Will not return. Very blunt service, not friendly or welcoming. Got roast beef poboy, asked for extra gravy, he called back«sloppy» which is how a RB poboy should be, there definition of sloppy is no gravy, wet bread. It had a clear greasyish liquid that completely soaked bottom bread to where it was falling apart. Sucked!

My husband and I had lunch here and the bayou state pizza is AMAZING! The bartender and all the folks sitting at the bar were all friendly. It seems like a locals spot but they were very welcoming to us first timers.

Absolutely the worst pizza delivery experience possible. 1.5 hour delivery, cold pizza, and a horribly rude delivery driver. The pizza we ordered was not made even close to spec. When I called to express my concern, the manager on duty simply advised me to not order from them again and hung up. Unbelievable. If your looking for sheer and utter ambivalence and managerial incompetence, this is the place for you!

Just came here to take the bus for the LSU/A&M game. We were told that we would receive a free beer when we returned from the game. When we went inside to ask for our beer, the bartenders were very rude and combative when we told them that we didn’t have our ticket to the game that they said was needed for the beer. This makes no sense as they gave us a Pastime wristband to ride the bus in the first place. After speaking with the manager, it’s very clear that this place does not cater to their customers. We’ll take our business elsewhere. If you have an LSU ticket and don’t mind a flippant attitude about customer service, this is the place for you.

I have been eating at Pasttime since I was 4 years old! At 41 it’s one of my favorite places to visit when I come home to Baton Rouge. It’s nice to walk in and the tried and true menu is still there in the wall, paper and pen lined up on the bar for you to write down your order! My hardest decision is always what to eat. A po-boy or a pizza. Yesterday, pizza won out! I had a small pizza with shrimp and I am so glad I did! It was perfect. I love a good, thin, crunchy crust and it did not disappoint. I also appreciate that they do put a good amount of cheese and their sauce is rich and robust. The small pizza had six slices and I was bad and ate the entire thing!!! It was sinful and wonderful and I would do it again in a heart beat! My sister had a roast beef poboy and it looked amazing! Full of shredded roast beef and traditionally dressed we both agreed this lunch was the perfect girls day out lunch!

Very disappointed in service/experience. I work downtown and have an hour lunch break. My boyfriend joined me for lunch and suggested past time. I was excited to have something different than the regular restaurants near my office so I left a few minutes early just in case. First thing I noticed was the overwhelming smell of moth balls. Anyways, We got there before the crowd. I ordered a calzone and he ordered a burger. After 35 minutes I noticed everyone else had food except us and was getting nervous on time. I checked on our food and was told that they are having problems with the pizza oven. I asked if I could order something quicker(like a turkey sandwich since my bf food was probably just sitting there) and was told no it’s already in the oven And will only be 5 more minutes. Ugh, I should have left right then but thought it would be just as bad having to pick up something else on my way back to work. 10 minutes later I had to have them box my food up Togo. No time to eat. Not one person in the kitchen/counter area apologized for this obvious inconvenience. When I asked if this was normal the rude girl said no we are having problems that’s why we are telling people pizza and calzones take a while. I said well yall didn’t tell me. I didn’t make a scene and handed over $ 30 dollars. When I left I was so made at myself for not leaving earlier bc we missed being able to eat, out $ 30, and left with a half cooked calzone. Anyways I won’t be back and what a shame. I have worked in the customer service industries my whole life and an apology goes along way. FYI

We stopped in to watch the LSU game before we had to be at 13th gate orientation. It was a decent place to watch since they had a large projection screen tv and many smaller tvs throughout the restaurant. The food, however, left more to be desired. We ordered a burger and a small pepperoni pizza. The burger was ok, it had good flavor and grill char, but was somewhat small for a restaurant burger. The pizza looked amazing, the taste fell flat though. The dough appeared to be frozen and did not allow the sauce to bind with it, causing the whole topping to slide off with the first bite. I also ordered a bloody mary. My only explanation for it was that it was boring. The lady making it squeezed a lemon and poured some bloody mary mix, that wasnt zing zang, into the glass and served it. No spicy beans, no celery, just lemon juice. It was very disappointing for $ 7.

Do not use the shuttle to the LSUGAMES!!! Terrible service… We sat on bus for 45 minutes then took another hour to get to the stadium. After game we waited for an hour and bus still wasn’t full so we had to spend another $ 30 to get back to our vehicle!!!

I have been known to eat at this establishment at least once every two weeks. I have noticed the owner/manager be rude to customers and reprimand his employees in front of customers. Well, today myself and two other coworkers decided to grab lunch. We made sure to write our tickets out separately by drawing a line under each order and then made sure to let the owner/manager know that they were separate tickets and that we would be dinning in. Once our name was called that the order was ready there was a lady with blond curly hair that was at the counter and had our ticket already rung up together. I informed her that they were separate tickets, and you would have thought that I had just caused some major injustice. She then proceeded to tell me that I had not told them this in advance and when I let her know that we HADINFACT let the man that was at the counter earlier know that it was separate, she CONTINUEDTOARGUEWITHME! Then told one of the other employees that she was about to quit or get fired!!! Let me tell you, I have been in the restaurant business for well over 10 years and have never treated one of my CUSTOMERS the way she did.

Come here for the burgers, which are good. But the service here sucks. This visit our cashier, Nicole, was extremely rude and ARGUED with me and my friends about having to split an order that we told them in advance was separate and that we individually separated on the order for them. She continued to argue with us the whole time she separated the ticket, telling us we did not tell her it was separate, as she announced to her coworkers she«was about to quit or get fired» while punching the register buttons to show just how annoyed she was with us about separating our tickets. The food is not worth being talked to and treated so rudely over simply separating a ticket for PAYINGCUSTOMERS. They will not have me or my friends business again.

The food is decent, but nothing to write home about. The atmosphere is kinda wonky; i’m not sure if In a bar or a family restaurant. The décor is reminiscent of an old VA Hall or YMCA. Not the worst place in the world, but if you’re in the mood for food and drinks, saddle up across the street at the Brick Yard. They’ll let you bring your own food in, it is pet friendly, the drinks are cheaper, and the bartenders are generally pretty good looking.

I like this place for the burger and po boys. Haven’t had their pizza yet. Would be 5 stars but can be hit or miss some times though still good. Tonight the onion rings weren’t hot but warm enough to eat. I will return.

Below is a private message I received from the owner of this restaurant after posting a bad review on another site(that the owner had removed). For the record, the OWNER yelled at me and told me to «f’ – king leave» after I paid to eat in his restaurant. I was at this restaurant as a paying customer who spent $ 30 and was there less than one hour. According to Randy, the owner, that means I am somehow not a customer of the restaurant but a customer of the 13th Gate because I ate there while waiting for my daughter and her friends to finish at the 13th Gate. This logic makes no sense– the two are not mutually exclusive. How is that different from eating there before a concert or show downtown at Manship or the River Center? I had not been to the Pastime in years, I admit that, but that does not make me or any other parent of a child who goes to the 13 Gate any less of a customer. I understand parking is an issue; however, it was the manner in which the owner yelled at me that night that prompted the review, along with the less than stellar pizza. This«business» does not appreciate any new or returning customers. Unless you eat there weekly, Randy clearly is not interested in your business. Message heard. I will not return. I love the one sided, selfish, inconsiderate post you felt you just had to post. The ONLY reason you were in the restaurant was because of the 13th gate. You were a customer of the 13th Gate and decided to «wait» at the Pastime. Do you even comprehend that there are other customers, customers who are specifically coming to the Pastime to eat, that can not park because you are either occupying a table or a parking spot(one of only 25) while waiting up to 4 hours for your children to return? We told you that we have set aside free on street parking, behind barricades just for parents who eat with us and then have to wait for their children. We have done EVERYTHING we can to accommodate you and so many others but you are that 1 in 100 people who just can’t see that by occupying that table or parking space for up to 4 hours impact and hurts our business. You are just focused on your inconvenience to actually have to move 50 feet away. Not only were you inconsiderate on that night, you feel that you must post a negative review to «get back at the restaurant for exercising a practical, proven, well thought out parking policy during our busiest time of the year when we have to watch customers pulling in and walking across the street to the 13th gate or literally hundreds of people walking over just to use the restroom. The restrooms have been trashed in the past and our customers who come to dine with us like they have for 70 years, have to wait behind non paying customers. parents send their children over to the Pastime after they exit to wait on them, not buy but to sit and occupy tables or roam the lot and believe me no matter how many times you ask them to move so a customer can pull in or out, they just stand there. This time of year is a nightmare trying to accommodate everyone and having to choose who to accommodate, its our customers, not the ones who drop off their kids and then think that they have the right to deny other customers the chance to come eat with us because they have spent a whole $ 20.00 or less for the entire year. Let me put it this way and maybe you will understand. Think of a restaurant on a parade route in New Orleans during Mardi Gras. Imagine if a woman in a minivan, who has NEVER been a customer of that Burger King pulled up and 8 children jump out and disappear into the parade crowd. The woman driver is asked to move her vehicle to another lot instead of the Burger King lot but instead of moving, she wants to argue that she is a customer because she is going inside to buy a salad and a glass of water, then occupy a table meant for 4 people and a parking space for the next 4 hours. This is NOT a customer of Burger King but a parade attendee who is not concerned with the business she parked at but rather her own selfish needs. This was you and now you act like a child by posting a negative review. If you were a real customer and know our food, then why did you order a pizza if it was SOOOO horrible? Is it because you have never been a customer and your only reason for being at the Pastime was to bring your children to the 13th Gate? Then you were their customer, not the a Pastime Customer and next time, park in their designated pay parking instead of the free, secured parking that both Lot attendants offered you. Randy The business owner that you trashed because you did not get your selfish way. (I am tired and disgusted at people like you who think you are ENTITLED to something and then twist the truth, call us names, criticize our family product and slander us because someone stood up to you. If our food is so terrible, why have we been here for 70 years with a tremendous customer following? Maybe its my cheery personality)

Old landmark but it is not nearly as good as it once was. Can’t quite put my finger on why the pizza is lacking but it’s just not better or different than frozen pizza. Fleur de Lis is still the best.

I went her for lunch on 2÷3÷15 with a few work colleagues. Upon walking in I was confused on where to go as there are like 4 or 5 different rooms. Once we got that situated we walked up to the counter and tried to place our order but were quickly told to write them down. I didn’t quite get the point since they have 2 cashiers there but ummm OK. Then they tell you not to pay until you get your food, again ummmm OK. So while we sat and waited, I looked around and the place felt like a slightly more modern version of the bar in the Patrick Swayzey classic Roadhouse. Minus the ass kicking, tight jeans wearing, mullet having bartender. Plus this place has a lot of very large flat screen TV’s for the sports viewing fan. The food came out rather quickly. I ordered a simple shrimp Po-boy which came dressed with pickles. The bread was warm and slightly toasted and the shrimp had a slightly lemony flavor. Really good. The bossman got an Oyster po-boy and bowl of gumbo that he said was pretty good too. The ordering system is kind of goofy and the place isn’t much on ambiance but the food is solid at least on the po-boy side.

Food was pretty good but way overprice and the place looked dirty. For a ham and cheese poboy(no fries) and a small order of fried pickles with water and it was over $ 13. My buddy ordered the pizza and it was just average at best.

Sometimes, a chili-cheese dog by itself isn’t enough. You need to top it with diced tomatoes, onions, and jalapeños. The Growler is what you need.

About six of us ordered lunch to go today. My veggie pizza had a clump of brown hair melted in with cheese which I noticed as soon as I opened the box. Then a co-worker bit into a piece of metal in his pizza. It looked like maybe an open staple? Top that off with terrible customer service and we will never eat here again. Yuck.

Very disappointing. My children would not eat the pizza or a hamburger. My wife and I had the everything pizza and the toppings were good but the crust was just awful. Sam’s Club pizza dominates this place. My daughter left her burger with one bite. She did eat the Zaps voodoo chips.

Better start writing some of these reviews from New Orleans while they are fresh in my mind. pretty soon it will all be faded. So went here after we blew the World War II Musuem. This place was a nice cozy little place. I had a tuna sand, my usual vodka on the rocks, which btw I noticed that in New Orleans the well vodka was never Monarch which was nice! Was pretty yummy for sure. The sandwich was great and booze too, started our fun time here and would definitely go back. My only complaint of course is the smoking. The bartender was funny and the they were all very friendly.
