My advice is stay clear. I am busy and I am accustomed to being treated well before, during and after a frivolous expense like hair cuts and massages. However this place does not know what customer service means. Below is my experience today: 1. Did not get a reminder phone call. They said they did, but no missed call or message. Additionally gave me the wrong number for my phone… 2. Just found out for the first time I have a membership for a year… Why if i hate their service would I do that? 3. This place is more for someone who wants a mediocre massage from a very uninviting atmosphere. Bottom line, I will stick with Parker Paris because even if I do have to pay for this crap for a year, I want to feel relaxed and pampered not cattle called through a dimly lit cvs decorated interior.

Massage Envy minus the relentless sales pitches would equal relaxing. Y’all just need to cut it out. the membership pitch. the extra add-ons pitch. By the time I got to what was supposed to be the relaxation area before the massage, I was annoyed.

I am a lover of all things massages, but I never experienced anything quite like this. I have been coming to ME at Citiplace for a couple of years, and I’ve tried several therapists, but it wasn’t until a few months ago I found out about Emanuel. He has changed my massage experience. I make it a point to come back because he is so attentive and he is amazing at his job. However, there are a couple of drawbacks. At times I’ve experienced rudeness at the front desk, but each time if I note it on the evaluation of my experience the manager fixes the situation. That is what keeps me coming back. They obviously care about their customers because they want to make sure the spa experience is amazing each time. They keep me coming back for sure!

Like others I was nervous because of the amount of bad reviews but my experience was pretty nice. Kat was my estitician and she did a great job on my facial. It was too quiet for me so she offered to explain what she was doing which was nice and comforting. I got the full hour facial. She recommended the anti aging acne facial because of my skin not my age :-). The only downfall is the smell of the Murad products. They stink! My face smells like a perm lol. It feels great but smells the opposite. I would love to get another facial, but I don’t wanna deal with the smell. I called before I went to confirm my appointment so it was no problem there. Overall it was nice. P. s. Don’t go on an empty stomach, I was thinking about food most of the time.

I was worried with the low reviews. But they have wonderful massage therapists! I found Sara after a couple of massages and she is amazing, I found my perfect type of massage! Thank you Sara!

I have been a member with massage envy for 2 months now and I am unsatisfied with my experience. I am not a person to complain or get upset easily but in my particular experience with my couples massage appointment, scheduled a week in advance, canceled under my nose due to a sudden therapist illness and discovering this upon arrival with my boyfriend was just unwarranted. When you schedule an appointment for yourself and a guest, they ask for that persons number which i gave to them. However, my boyfriend works at a plant and getting in touch with him during his shifts or off his shifts is hit or miss. Now being a member with massage envy, which costs me $ 59 a month and being the person who scheduled the appointment, to me seems like I should be the primary number for them to call but instead of calling me at all they called my boyfriend’s number once the evening before and once the morning of. I wish they would have called me because like I said my boyfriend is hard to reach on the phone but they never did. They tell me they did but that wasn’t true. This was my treat to my boyfriend and I had him pretty excited about it and the way they just said sorry and offered nothing to compensate for it was rude and inconsiderate. I feel unappreciated. Four words I would use to describe Massage Envy would be Unethical, Ungrateful, unprofessional, and Mal-practiced when it comes to customer service

I wish I could give negative stars. I had a couple of good massages here but their front staff and management was horrible! It was stressful to get a massage here! They changed rules midstream. I sent friends and family here on my credits and they hated it, too! Don’t get a membership here! Run! It’s a scam!

Tonight was the third time this location has messed up on my reservation. I called Sunday for tonight for my wife and I. The lady at the front said it was my fault as the person booked it for next week. It is one thing to make a mistake, it is another to blame the customer. Clearly customer service is lacking at this location. Would recommend using the other location to ensure you get your massage.

The massage therapists here are awesome, but their business practices are not. Don’t get sucked into their membership. Their cancellation policies suck and you’ll have to jump through hoops or change your credit card number in order to get out of it. They’ll even try to charge you for missed appointments although you cancel ahead of time. They also put tons of restrictions on the membership. You can only transfer one«credit» to another person once every six months. It’s the dumbest thing ever… why wouldn’t they want me to give my unused credits to other people so that they could try Massage Envy and potentially sign up for their plan?! They will also upsell the crap out of you EVERY time you go in or call to make an appointment. I changed my credit card number and won’t be back.

I have experienced a broad range of massages, including holistic Ayurvedic massage and intense hot/cold deep tissue Russian spa massage. The massage I experienced to Spa Envy by far was the worst I’ve ever had. It seems to me, their primary business model is to sell the client a 12-month massage/facial plan, rather than provide the very best massage at this visit. I would not recommend Spa Envy to anyone wanting a good massage; total waste of hourly fee plus tip.

I wish I could give 0 stars. This place is a perfect example of a good business run horribly. My husband and I have been message envy members since 2008, and have been members at multiple locations throughout the country who all had excellent customer service and really went out of their way to keep their customers happy. This place lives on a different planet from those other stores. I am not a person who usually gets angry or frustrated at these types of things, but I was so incredibly disappointed with the unethical and poor business practices of this place that I had to write a review here. When we moved to Baton Rouge last year, we started coming here to get our monthly massages. One of the reasons we’ve stayed with ME for so long is because we have had an excellent rate because we got the membership so long ago. Each place we has moved has kept that rate the same. When we came here, we asked SEVERAL times if when we changed our membership over to this location the rate would be the same. Each time we asked, the representatives here told us that it would not change. This is was not the case. When we officially changed they increased our rates to their prices. When we complained, they were incredibly rude and even made me incensed on the phone because they refused to accept that it was not cool to tell us one thing and do another just to get more money for their bottom line. They blamed it on uninformed front desk workers, but that is not an excuse and they should have worked to resolve it. Instead, their customer service people laughed and called me «hostile» and told me they would not speak with me. I was flabbergasted, mostly. Of course I was angry. This is our money and our life and I care about it, as any normal person would. These people don’t care. So, my husband and I decided to cancel. We asked how we should go about doing it. They told us that we just had to fill out a single sheet of paper, and one representative even told us to wait until close to our withdrawal date because we will only have a few days to use up our massages once we cancel. So we did. We contacted them in the days before our monthly withdrawal, promptly submitted the paperwork, and were told it would be cancelled immediately. … and then the next day a representative called us to tell us our monthly dues were withdrawn and we had an available massage! When we asked about cancellation, the representative said«oh that process takes 30 days.» Again, confused, annoyed, frustrated. This is not what we have been told! A manager called back named Hillary several hours later to tell us that our request had been processed and the membership was cancelled. I asked why they told us it took 30 days if it only took 1 day to cancel? And she promptly started snickering and laughing rudely at me on the phone, telling me that it was in «the process of cancellation and would be cancelled in 30 days.» When I asked her to explain the difference between«processing cancellation» and cancellations she laughed again and said nothing she said would make me happy and that she didn’t need to explain it to me more. Saying things like: «I understand what I am saying, I don’t know how to explain it to you otherwise.» I would re-ask the questions, she would snicker even more at me. As a membership service, your customers have to understand what the policies are and how they are being enforced. Multiple people told us completely conflicting things throughout our time working with this business, and they don’t seem to care. They just want your money. I, understandable, got super pissed. I dropped the f-bomb on the phone with Hillary(which I should not have done, but these people make no sense and it is infuriating). She proceeded to tell me that she could tell from her notes on her computer about me that I was hostile and that she wasn’t going to continue talking to me. I tried to explain how what they are doing impacts people, and that they all need to be clearer about their explanation of policies and procedures. That at this current stage, their policies do not match up with what they are doing. If they don’t clearly explain their policies, their business practices just look like flashy looking scams and cons. I looked at my email following our exchange, and not only was our memberships NOT cancelled in 30 days, but in 60DAYS. That is right. They are going to take out ANOTHER set of dues before they process the cancellation. Once again, this place misrepresents their policies and their customers foot the bill. Long story short, this business doesn’t properly train its customer service staff to give consistent information, just wants your money, and if you complain about anything they will just get hostile and rude. Get your relaxation somewhere else, because this place only made us anxious and upset.

I’m a member and visit with my husband monthly. The staff is helpful and friendly, but scheduling is a mess. The receptionists have confused our appointment times at least three in a row. Their therapists call in sick an hour before their scheduled shifts, and we were cancelled. If a customer cancels with short notice, they bill your card! They keep offering us «points» to compensate, but no one ever explains what they are used toward. Like any place, there are some great therapists, and then some not so great ones. You just have to book with the one that works best for your taste.

I went to their new location on Coursey Blvd. My first visit was amazing one hour massage and for only $ 40.00 I could not wait for my next visit. I went back today and asked for the same special and at the end of my less than wonderful«50» minute massage I received a $ 78.00 bill. They are running some crazy membership scam… so I now understand that $ 80.00 is the going rate for a quality massage and I will visit a reputable spa next time and get the full hour with no pushy sales people.

I have had MANY massages in Baton Rouge. I have never been really satisfied with the quality of the massage until today at Massage envy. It all depends on the masseuse/massuer. Ethan is GREAT. I know from past experience, all over the Baton Rouge area, that although you pay for an hour massage you usually get 45 minutes of actual massage. I got 55 minutes! All Massage Centers require an advanced notice for canceled appointments. So if you need to cancel be sure to call them 4 hour prior. I went after reading reviews of Massage Envy on another site. So I was prepared for the«sales pitch». The contract is for a year and if you sign up you get a «discount». Basically for the monthly charge you get one 1 hour massage a month and a «reduced» price any additional massage sessions scheduled that month. I found the receptionists to be friendly, but not well spoken. They were upfront about the contract. They answered all my questions. I was even told that since they are Not a Spa the Monthly amount could be drafted from my Health Savings Account. I never felt pressured to join. Be sure to ask for the«Introductory rate» when you book your massage and if you do not want a contract just walk. I really got a lot of pain relief from Ethan. I highly recommend Ethan at Massage Envy.
