This has been the worst of all the times I have been here. Food was not cook totally. A plate with a biscuit was left on one of the stations and i got there at 10:00 a. m and the biscuit was still there at 11:03 a.m. I only seen the waitress once in a hour, while she and another waitress stand by the drink machine on their phones talking and laughing. The restaurant had a bad smell like a sewage tank exploded by the bathroom side. Bad thing is its right by the salad bar. The food on that side had a horrible taste. If it was not a holiday I would call the board of health to come in and get them straight. I will never return here again.

My wife and myself ate at Golden Corral on a Sunday night. You could tell that they were probably swamped since church let out at noon. Because the place was a wreck. The building interior is very dated and has been the same for the last several years. All the food was picked over and looked like no one was tending to it. The cashier charged the gentleman in front of us for a kids menu, she charged my wife and myself full price $ 30.00 for 2 buffets and 2 drinks, and the gentleman behind us who was there by himself she also charged for a kids menu. We really regretted eating there. We have eaten at Golden Corral in several other cities and have had a wonderful experience, but the Baton Rouge location is the worst. If you are reading this and are from out of town, don’t judge the food in Baton Rouge by this place, there are too many good restaurants in town.

Was in the mood for some seafood. We were going to go to Red Lobster, but after seeing the reviews, opted for Golden Corral. At the very least, I knew I would get some awesome rolls and honey butter. We arrived at the perfect time and didn’t have to wait in a line and got a table close to the buffet. I loaded my first plate with catfish fillets, popcorn shrimp, and hush puppies. Everything was nice and hot, and just as important… it all tasted great. I live with a family of non seafood eaters, so I really gorged myself because I don’t know when I will get to partake again. I did leave a little room for dessert. I was a little disappointed with the selection. I got a little bread pudding only because there was just a little in the pan. It has been years since I’ve been to this restaurant, but I remember there being more choices than they had out today. All in all, I did enjoy my lunch and will definitely go back again.

As most people know this place has a lot of food at a low cost. If you are looking to get your money’s worth this is a good place to bring family. The restrooms need some work. other than this great place.

Two words: Hand Hygiene! At a recent breakfast visit I was getting an omelet made when the employee left his station with his gloves on. He went to an office in the front of the restaurant and he came back, still wearing the same gloves. I watched to see if he would change them before continuing with my order, but he didn’t. Before he touched the pan I asked him to change his gloves, which he did after washing his hands. This Is a no brainier in the food service industry. Hand hygiene is the most important thing all employees should be doing often. Supervisors and managers should be ensuring that it is done correctly. It will be a long time before I return.

I came here because I really wanted roast and meatloaf on a rainy day. I could have done without seeing a roach crawling around by the register after I paid. I ate anyway because it wasn’t by the food and I had already paid, but it totally ruined my appetite. The food was decent. They need to get a better exterminator and clean better.

Where do I start! Convenient parking, good quality food, including fresh greens, meats, chicken, sea food, Louisiana kitchen homey food, deserts and ice creams, friendly staff, Happy with my experiences. I’m not giving it five, simply because the table we sat on looked clean but it was wet as well as the chairs, our server quickly apologize so not a big deal. If you are in the area and Hungry! check this place out! 9 $ for lunch!

My rating is based on Golden Corral being top notch at what it is. When Im in town, this is where I want to go because there are so many choices I know I wont be let down. There is cotton candy. There is a chocolate fondue. I dont even like chocolate that much, but I like seeing it. Its a buffet. Thus there are kids! Yah, they work on your nerves but not much. Also some of the stuff women have on, eww. I like to go before 4pm. What happens after 7pm, I am unaware. Its a nice family place or a cheap date fill your belly kind of place. But only bring a girl here if you are already partners. It would send the wrong message lol! I can invite my sis out with her little girls and pay the whole bill with no problem. And everyone gets satisfied. My best friend took me here too, and we had a nice meal. He even got some cotton candy. Note, every time I’ve been my waiter was iffy but not completely neglectful. If you need something just speak up for your self. Corral isnt dirt cheap so I havent seen bad crowds. The catfish is so yummy. Thats my favorite part. I also like all the veggies, esp the broccoli.

Honestly, this place is about what you expect for a golden corral. Massive amounts of poor quality food presented as best as possible to feed neverending hordes of slobs who go to pig out. Even knowing this ahead of time, my brother and I decided we wanted to go check out the new chocolate fountain thing they’ve been advertising. We got there and I felt like I was waiting in line for a disney world ride — the cashier was moving ungodly slow and though there were only 3 tables worth of people in front of us, we waited about 15 minutes before finally paying and entering. Overall, the place is pretty dingy and run-down looking. The actual buffet line areas for the most part are cleaned up, but all the rest of the place is nasty. They do have a massive spread of food, but it must have shrunk since the first review on this place — there definitely weren’t 7 types of shrimp, or a japanese section. I was pleased to see that they had steaks grilled to order, but the guy serving them had no idea how to cook steaks. Honestly, all he knew how to do was burn them to a crisp. Only once as I was passing, I saw him set a new steak down on the grill and watched it like a hawk until I told him to give it to me while it was still rare — and he proceded to cut off like a 2 inch sliver and give to me. He seemed to have a real attitude and trying to get steak at all was a hassle. They had a couple other decent dishes — I enjoyed lots of queso sauce and jalapenos alongside my steak, as well as some chili and a few other dishes. It’s easy to fill up here if you just walk down the line and take a bit of whatever sounds nice, so decide on what you’re really going to want first and just get that. When it came time for dessert I went to check out the chocolate fountain. Got a macaroon and dipped it, then went back to the table and tried it. The macaroon was absolutely delicious, but the ‘chocolate’ tasted pretty much like a chocolate mole sauce — so much so in fact, that I went and got another steak and dipped it in the chocolate. Probably the best thing I had all night. Then I noticed that they had a cotton candy machine and were making fresh cotton candy. That was pretty neat, so I got a piece… it really wasn’t good, it tasted stale even though it was made fresh. I guess the sugar had been sitting out too long or something. Regardless, I probably won’t be coming back. It was okay, but nothing exceptional… I’d probably go try Ryan’s if I was ever in the mood for this type of establishment again, and see how they stack up.

I normally wouldn’t get all fired up over GC but this one wowed me. Maybe it’s because I had driven all the way from Dallas and I was loopy and hungry. I dunno, but I walked in and was instantly impressed with the décor and the look of the buffet tables. The signage is neat and unlike the GC in my hood. I actually didn’t notice a bad smell that most GC’s are famous for. They have a bread station so you can get as many warm, hot, doughy rolls as you want without having to wait for a server to bring them to you. They even offer other bread options too if you want more than a roll. There were so many food options that my group couldn’t even make a dent in all that was available. I especially liked the plate stands where you could get your own plates instead of waiting for a server to load up the table with more plates. We went for a late lunch and ended up witnessing the lunch/dinner cross over. Of course we were too full to stuff ourselves with the new dinner entrees that were brought out. The service was good and we had ample refills and good service the whole time.

I don’t know why Baton Rouge put Ryan’s and Golden Corral down the street from one another becasue I’m pretty sure Ryan’s is getting NOOOOOBUSINESS!!! In other words, Golden Corral is not only better than Ryan’s … it’s INCOMPARABLE!!! Golden Corral has 10 times the amount of food, including a seafood section with 7 types of shrimp, seasoned baked fish with grilled shrimp on top, a japanese section, a mexican section, an entire bread section with all types of cooked bread, cheese garlic bread, etc. UNBELIEVABLE!!! There is also a large diing area with lots of tables(including a large room in the back for big parties or meetings) All the food is fresh, hot, and tastes PERFECT!!! The service is really good. The waitress is always there to give you refills. The price for the entire buffet is an amazing $ 10.19(plus the $ 1.89 drink) … Amazing Low Prices for soooooo much great food!!! HOWEVER … The people that eat at Golden Corral have NO manners(especially parents who don’t watch their NASTY children who put their mouth on the serving spoons!!!) Watch for the nasty children!!! Also, since the building is old, it smells kinda old inside, but the smell of the food outweighs that!!! Overall…it’s Simply Golden!!! LOL
