This is a beautiful park. I primarily utilize the dog park area but I also use the jogging trails. The dog park is hit and miss. There are quite a few«regulars» who have aggressive dogs and it can be tense at times. The passive aggression from the«aggressive» dog owners is laid on thick and it really bothered me at first. They gang up on people and try to dominate the park, especially at prime times. Their dogs repeatedly attack people and other dogs and they excuse it like its every dog’s nature to draw blood. Laughable and absurd. Stand up to the bullies and enjoy the park. They back down when confronted directly but I can tell they’re used to running people off. Not me, not ever! I come near the end of the night, between 8 and 10 pm and I rarely encounter the idiots with the vicious animals. There’s ample space for a dog to run around and play. Don’t be intimidated by the aggressive dog owners. Just ignore them.

Great big park. I didn’t realize how much it had to offer from the street. There is a nice dog park, volleyball area, a little fishing lake, tennis courts and many more. It’s very well maintained for the most part(saw a few overflowing trashcans). I’ll definitely be back here for a nice walk.

«Park fun for the whole family». This park has always been a fun park for me hang our with my family. My daughter loves the splash park when it is operating(usually summer months into September/Octobers, since it’s still hot). Heck, I even love the splash park! Who doesn’t like to be around splashing water when it’s a 100 degrees outside? The park is multipurpose — playgrounds, walking trails, baseball, pond, tennis, etc. It’s huge and was renovated a few years back. It’s perfect for birthday parties, outdoor get-togethers, picnics and some good olé’ fun. Now, why the 4-star? The playground freaks me out! Why on earth are the higher sections of the playground open? There is nothing to secure the children from falling! Who created that thing? Do you not have children? It’s so dangerous! Kids rough-house and one can easily get knocked off that playground, when they are high up. I am ready to have a heart attack each time my kid climbs up that playground to the higher level. I am there climbing myself ready to catch her. So, when you bring your little ones to play on that playground, please keep a watchful eye on them! ITCANBEDANGEROUS!

Very nice dog park in Baton Rouge. Not near as big as the Burbank park but a nice sized place for large and small dogs to roam and with friendly regulars there on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Walking paths are very nice, winding through the park, long and along the edge of the park next to the trees, offering cool shade. Gage recommends this park to his friends.

Great park! Lots for the kids to climb on, trails to explore, space to run, covered and uncovered picnic tables, a splash pad for hot days, and a restroom. There are also tennis courts, a dog park and a fishing pond.

Forest Park has great tennis courts as long as you’re not on the court that has woods on 2 sides. If you’re there, watch out for man eating mosquitoes. Recently resurfaced courts are flat and a pretty color blue that will turn your ball an interesting shade after two hours of banging around. The park IS a community park, so there are fields and benches, a Cane’s Dog Park and what looks like a really nice little league baseball field. I don’t live anywhere near here, so I only use the tennis facilities when scheduling forces me to, but at least the courts are some of the best in town. I can’t give more than 3 stars because of security. There have been many car break ins while we’ve been on the courts, yet I haven’t seen any kind of security on the facility. That’s not to say it’s not there, but being a little more visible would definitely make me feel more comfortable.
