While the rooms are spacious, the employees are kind, and the look of the hotel itself is charming, none of that is enough to make up for the smell. The second you step foot into the hotel lobby, you’re hit with the smell of mildew… and it never goes away. I suspect there was severe water damage in the hotel because the entire place smells like it’s rotting, including our room. The windows don’t open and turning on the air conditioner just exacerbates the problem. The air everywhere in the building is stale and smells like musty, old, wet towels. We had to check out late because we needed to wash clothes. The washer unexpectedly took an hour just to fill up with water, so we were charged $ 10 just to stay an extra few minutes. The elevator also broke the night we were there, so we had to lug all of our luggage up three flights of stairs. We paid around $ 100 for our room and that’s too much given our less-than-stellar experience.

Stayed weekend of 1÷23÷16. Front desk staff and housekeeping were professional, patient, and accommodating. This is an older hotel, but it has a lot of character. Most importantly, the common areas and room suites were clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again!

Something about this hotel gave me the creeps. I did not book it and did not see it before we stayed, so this review is at first glance and experience. It just felt very dark and damp the minute I walked in. I actually liked the château look with the atrium in the middle, but I was not a fan of the motel-esque balconies. Very dated and everything echoed. There was a man on the phone on the first floor and I could hear his whole conversation all the way to my room on the 3rd. Would not be a great place to bring kids… The décor in the rooms seemed like something that was in my grandma’s apartment in the 90s. Clean, but very dingy and lumpy. I did like that the room was HUGE, however. lots of elbow room, and then some. Although we didn’t stop the breakfast looked good.

I love staying with relatives here when they come to visit! It’s very clean and the staff is very nice. They have a pool, sauna and a very good breakfast compared to other hotels!

Kind service, reasonably priced, beautiful Louisiana-styled interior and well manicured lawns with Jacuzzi options plus an outdoor pool!!! And that’s just the start… What else could one want?

This was a last second hotel that we had to grab. The staff is pleasant full. Breakfast was simple and to the point. Linens were clean and accommodating. This is where all the good ends. A major décor upgrade is definitely needed. Carpet, paint, vanities are outdated. Much potential if a a little effort can be put in. For the price no complaint. I’m used to staying at Marriott, holiday inn, and Hyatt hotels. I stayed here due to location of nearby relatives we were visiting. Better than staying at in laws, I give them that

My husband and myself were trekking the east side of the US and stayed here on a whim. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are absolutely gorgeous and really give off an antique French cottage feel. Two double doors opened to our bathroom and the king size bed had a memory foam top. We slept for 11 hours(we were exhausted from a long drive) and woke up feeling GREAT! The hotel is off the beaten track but if you’re driving from the west you can see the neighborhood looks a bit ghetto, but if you go further to the hotel it becomes open and calm with no weirdos walking the streets. We had our entire life packed into our car including a 46 inch flat screen and it was obvious we had valuables in our vehicle. The front desk assured us there were cameras(there was) and even into the night we did not worry about our car. Definitely a great area. The front desk rep let us check in 4 hours early and that was a huge plus. Didn’t go into the bar but it looked really nice. I will definitely stay here! We joked about just living in the hotel. It was amazing. Even the cleaning staff was nice. We paid $ 80 + a $ 50 deposit that we got back as soon as we checked out. I booked the same day we stayed.

I was in Baton Rouge for 2 days last week and stayed at the Best Western Château Louisanne. The hotel to me seemed a little dated. I’ve stayed at other Best Western Hotel’s that were more modern. The location was fine for what I needed to do. I did have a problem with the parking. Supposedly there was a party at the hotel, and I was unable to find parking anywhere at the hotel, which was annoying coming in late at night. Breakfast was served every morning, but I was unable to wake up in time to get it. poor me. Overall the hotel was okay. The parking was just a huge issue!!!

We stayed there for 4 nights and could not have been happier. The hotel has a lovely covered patio decorated New Orleans style and big, clean rooms. We also had a microwave and fridge in the room. My kids enjoyed the pool everyday and the staff was nice and professional. When they saw we were four, the service staff made sure we had enough towels and supplies every day. This place is much more than your average motel, I definitely recommend it!
