I have been going to Dreyer Walk in Care for over 10 years. There are clinics everywhere you turn nowadays. However, most of them are staffed with a single nurse practitioner or PA. The few times I went to one I eventually had to be seen by my regular doctor to get a correct diagnosis. Dreyer Walk in Care is staffed with doctors who have years and years of experience. They are friendly and caring. The clinical staff is nice too. I like the fact that they will do a strep test or X-ray if needed before the doctor comes in so that you can get in and out quickly. Unlike a previous reviewer, I like the pager system so that they aren’t standing there calling out patient’s names. And they do wipe them down between patients.

This is a tough review to do. They have a lot of different areas to this building. I have visited the doctor’s offices here and I have come to the walk in clinic. My most recent visit was to the walk in clinic portion to this location, so I’ll talk about that. I do like coming to this location. It’s newer, clean looking, spacious. They have a good system of checking you in. I will agree, however, with the other girl that reviewed this location. In the walk in portion, they give you pagers instead of calling your name out. Seriously. who came up with this brilliant idea? A lot of people are there due to the flu, colds, strep, etc. Why in the world do you think I want to be holding something that everyone in their brother has held, breathed on, sneezed on or coughed on? Why? I don’t think they sanitize them. even if they do, it wouldn’t be after every time someone gives it back. That’s just gross and irresponsible, if you ask me. Give me a paper number like you used to get at the deli counter. Call out a number. I’d be cool with that. The girl who checked me in seemed a little less than enthused to be there. When you ask someone why they are there, let them tell you. She cut me off before I really got to say anything past the fact that I hurt my back. I get that she’s not the doctor, but it doesn’t feel very caring when someone cuts you off when you don’t feel good as it is. Then when I did get to see the doctor, I’m not sure if I was at the comedy club or a doctor’s office. Now, I appreciate funny people and I love having sarcastic banter with others, especially people I don’t know, but I really wanted to get help with my back, first and foremost. I don’t doubt that he is a fine doctor and knows what he’s doing, but he talked a little fast and told too many funnies, to the point I was confused at times. That’s hard to do with me. but in my defense, I was a little off, due to my back pain. I had expressed some concerns with things that I was experiencing, after I injured my back and I felt like they were really brushed off and not made to feel like they were valid concerns. I did like the guy though, otherwise. :) Luckily, with a few days of solid R&R and some meds, I’m feeling a lot better. I will come back here. I will bring a glove or tissue to hold the pager. I just hope they don’t start charging a 2 drink minimum when I get the bonus comedy show.

This facility is clean, their magazines suck, and they give you a pager. I don’t like that. I’m already here because something is wrong with me, and you’re making me share a pager that sits in a basket with other pagers that sick people have touched with their hands that they probably coughed in? They don’t sanitize them, because you just throw em back in the basket. I’m sorry– but I am a germaphobe and that freaks me out. Anyway. The Batavia location is fairly new and way better than the Aurora one on Galena(ugh). Overall, the staff is pretty friendly. The only marginal person was the girl that did my intake but I wasn’t really there to make friends anyhow. The doctor I saw was really nice and I felt did a good job of asking questions to assess my situation. The only issue I have with the treatment I received here is that they ordered a strep test before I had even seen the doctor, so now I have to pay an additional $ 13. I know $ 13 ain’t sh*t but the point is, this is not my regular doctor. It’s not like I have a history of strep, which I told them– I’ve never had it. I wasn’t complaining of a sore throat. And guess what?! It came back negative. My point being, if they don’t know your history, and you don’t have symptoms, why order an unnecessary test when the patient hasn’t even seen the doctor? I also like how they have the waiting times listed on their website for each facility, and they’re updated in real time. That way, you know what you’re getting yourself into before you drive there only to sit and wait indefinitely.

The physical therapy staff is pretty great. Misty is knowledgeable and thorough, and fun to talk to. The supporting staff do a fantastic job.
