Went here last week for coffee with a friend. I honestly hadn’t heard of it until I passed it on the way to work one day. Their coffee is delicious and the staff is excellent. I would be so bold to say it’s the best kept secret in downtown Batavia. They mainly brew intelligentsia, it’s a great coffee. I would highly suggest checking this place out.

Super cute little coffee house! We were looking for a local coffee shop on our bike ride and we stumbled across Chapters. We were surprised to see it was in the Batavia Library. The Chapters is very cute and is immaculate. It is obvious how much pride the owner Steve has in the business. The espresso machine literally sparkles! The lattes were delicious– Not burned. The homemade peanut butter oatmeal cookie rocked! If you are out this way, it’s definitely worth the visit. :)

Steve, the owner, is a true master of coffee. He’ll happily talk coffee, coffee beans, and coffee preparation with customers all day, or at least for the few minutes it takes to brew you a fresh cup of coffee. He also makes delicious smoothies, soups and sandwiches, and baked goods, so no matter what time of day you stop in, Steve and his crew will have something delicious to fuel you up and keep you going all day. So, stop in, talk coffee, have a delicious snack and just relax!

When any establishment on Unilocal manages to get 105-star reviews in a row, it’s worth stopping in just to see what on Earth can make that many people happy. Chapters is a coffee shop located INSIDE the Batavia Public Library. Yes, you read that correctly. BOOKSANDCOFFEEATTHESAMETIMEINONEPLACEOMG! The Batavia Public Library itself is absolutely gorgeous(I could live in that periodicals room), and you don’t have to worry about deciding which of the thousands of books to pick out without the assistance of your good friend caffeine. The selection of beverages here is awesome, and prices are very competitive with Starbucks. In fact, the selection blows Starbucks out of the water entirely. There are really delicious frappucino type things that can be made totally vegan, some of which include OREOCOOKIES.(Yes, Oreos are vegan, you’re welcome.) There are also sandwiches and cookies and snack type things for sale here. In that case, I can’t say that the selection impresses me as there isn’t really anything vegan, but I can live with that. Finally, the woman who always seems to be here when I come in, is really polite and friendly. She is always up for a chat and I enjoy talking with her.

The best gourmet coffee spot in town. Steve, The owner is a real cool guy, and he is knowledgable about the coffee/beans he sells. I often stop in just to shoot the breeze with Steve. Also they have the best tuna salad/egg salad in town. I am a regular at the library, and often stop in to get brain food/my direct injection of caffine(espresso). Very cool owner/fair prices and an overall superior product makes this my «go to» coffee shop in town. Well worth the price compared to dunkin’s «crap roast». Keep up the good work guys.

It may seem I give out a lot of 5-star reviews, but I guess I like to review the places I like more than not. This is a stop I made on the way to a client in Batavia. The owner(I think) was extremely friendly and we talked a bit before we picked the right coffee. It’s a small place in a small town and there’s a library attached. This place has charming and quaint all about it. And a good cup of Joe.

Serves intelligentsia coffee. That alone should be a solid reason. Steve, the owner, is super friendly and can be creative with his coffee. They are keto friendly as well.

So quaint. It makes me so unbelievably happy that there’s a coffee shop in the Batavia Public Library. The library itself is amazing, having Chapters in it elevates it. It takes me back to when I would go to Borders, grab a coffee, and spend all day reading. Except they don’t yell at me here for loitering. Also — get the brownie! Get several! But not if I’m there because I’m clearing them out.

Great little coffee house with plenty of selection. I appreciate the fact that they have alternatives to milk like almond and soy milk. Had an almond milk café latte there today and it was wonderful – very nutty and smooth. Super friendly service as well. Go there and support local business!

Chapters is attached to the Batavia Public Library and a perfect spot for a quick cup of Intelligentsia coffee or tea whether or not you have library business to attend to. The owner, Steve, is usually tending to the coffee bar and making platters of pastries in the back kitchen, which appears surprisingly well-stocked for a café attached to a library. Intelligentsia is one of the best cups of coffee around and if I’m able to make Chapters’ hours(typically opens after I’m already well on my way to work in the morning), I make a point of it to stop in and have a quick chat and a laugh with Steve before I get on my way. This place is a gem.
