I have lived in Bastrop a year and I’m always excited to try somewhere new. My girlfriend and I decided to try out this place not far from our house thinking it would make a great lunch standard if we liked it. From the beginning, I was concerned. The menu had what looked like some great sandwiches, but the prices were over the top. Everything on the menu was either $ 6.95 or $ 7.95. Ok, I thought… a bit pricey, but if they’re good, it will be worth it. Next problem… we waiting nearly 20 minutes for our food to go. I don’t expect fast food service at a sandwich shop, but it’s lunch and people need to eat and head back to work…20 minutes is too long to wait… especially considering there only like 3 other customers in the place. But the real nightmare came at the end… the FOOD. It was a feast fit for a … dog. We opened the Styrofoam boxes in the parking lot. Both of us had ordered a French Dip. The roast beef was burnt, the cheese not even melted and the fries not even cooked completely. I decided I wasn’t even going to try it and went over to Taco Bell. My roommate did try and it then the rest of hers went to the dog. Seriously, don’t waste your money on this. Whatever they’re trying to do or be… deli/café/diner…unless they learn to produce some decent food first, they might as well throw in the towel.
