I’ve taken a few of my computers for minor issues here in the past and had no problem. HOWEVER, in July, I ordered a Dell replacement battery for one of my laptops and my daughter needed the hinge repaired on her laptop– and we both got terrible service and still need to resolve the original issue– despite having paid them to correct. The battery(though new and Dell brand) would only take a charge up to 30%– worse than the old original! So, I just waited until my daughter dropped hers for repair and asked her to also take mine back to Bastrop Computers to let them know it was an issue with the new battery. They said they needed to keep my laptop(for a battery issue?) and when I called to check status about a week later, Robin was so rude and insisted that they had already called me to let me know the warranty is no good– HUH?- Why would I be calling to check status, if I had already been called?! WELL apparently, without stating on the invoice nor mentioning it to me, they only warranty the new battery for 30 days– and those days tick off from when they call you, not when you pick up. So, while Stephen called me 6÷29÷15, on 7÷29÷15 when came back in, they won’t honor it– ripped off for $ 100! Additionally, they told my daughter that her hinge repair required a new laptop lid for @$ 165– which she paid. But when she got the laptop back it was shoddily repaired with the same hinge issue that caused her to bring it in anyway. And to top it off, now the laptop just randomly shuts off in the middle of work!!! After the interaction with Robin, I have no faith that this company will stand behind their work on my daughter’s laptop– so we will just find another(reputable) computer company to correct their repairs. NOTPLEASEDATALLANDWOULDNOTRECOMMENDTHISCOMPANYTOANYONE!!!

I have taken a number of my computers over the years here and I have always been appreciative in the time the store takes to fix them. Even the price is very respectful. I would recommend this shop to anybody.

After being told by the Geek Squad that they would charge me $ 100 to retrieve the photos on a corrupted camera disk, they Geek Squad tech then tried and could not even locate the disk, promptly returning it and saying they could not help me. They told me to try Bastrop Computers. I was not optimistic but since there were over 400 precious memories at stake, I figured I would try. The computer room looks like command central, with every type of computer set-up known to man! Within 2 minutes, they had tried my disk on 2 computers and were starting to see some files showing up. The process took several hours but they started right away and it was late in the day. They called the next day and were able to retrieve about 95% of my images! They have won my business for life. They are awesome, friendly and professional. Not to mention ½ the price of the Geek Squad. They only charged me $ 50.00 if they could retrieve the photos. Great Job!

They charged me $ 20 to downgrade IE8 to IE7 and advised me not to use IE8 on Windows XP. After spending three days reading all the wrong websites trying to fix it myself I felt relieved and very much like an idiot. They were understanding, gave good advice, and did good work. Well worth it.
