Terrible food, terrible atmosphere, terrible service. Very confusing. What happened to a real easy traditional empanada? This tastes like a pie? I am Spanish I’ve never seen this before and I don’t want to

Its not difficult to make chicken or pernil and stuff it in an empanada, why please tell me why they were so terrible! It was either no flavor or really bad flavored. One thing is they give u something totally different from the picture it doesn’t have enough meat in it or cheese or anything the flavor was beyound bland and im sorry but for that price I should be getting more quality and quantity! !! Id rather go to the hood and get me a dollar empanada then ever waste my money on this place ever again. Just because its shaped like a heart does not mean squat!

Please stop calling these empanadas more like empa N-A-D-A. The place is always empty — 1st clue. Weird tasteless fillings and overpriced. I know it is the Poconos, but their are some of use who know what an empanada is suppose to taste like. It is unfortunate because when this place first opened(the first week) there were lines out the door. So much anticipation for of an empanada place. How could you go wrong? Well — most of the fillings are a turn off and even the simple ones like apple are tasteless. Note to owner: stick with more traditional fillings(savory or sweet), traditional crust, and taste the fillings before mass producing — that’s what people want.

The food here was great and it wasn’t too expensive. The atmosphere was nice, and the team was very friendly — definitely coming back again for more!

This IS the empanada place advertised on the sign right off of 80. World’s best? I had those in San Antonio, TX, but for the Poconos, pretty darn good. The kids even liked their ham and cheese ones. Very good customer service.

There are five of us. We thought the empanadas were delicious. This place is such a welcome change from the fast food doldrums!

So let me start by saying that coming from Queens, NY, my empanada standards are very exacting. That being the case, I was not a huge fan of the empanada. The jerk chicken empanada was bold, but I didn’t care for the filling. The heart shape was cool. Why four stars then? Well, there was this southwestern soup. I can not begin to tell you how amazing it was. It was not the reason I went to Ahh… Sheri Empanadas. I don’t even think it is always on the menu. However, it was the best thing they had there, and might have been one of the best foods in the area. Yep, soup. It was more like a stew. It really was awesome and if not for the soup, my rating would not have been so high. However, the soup was worth the trip. The menu was simple but confusing, despite being on a board. I completely missed that there were lunch and dinner meal options. However, since I found the soup, I could care less. Nice people. Great soup.

This was my first visit to Sheri’s and I was pleasantly surprised. It’s not a large place with a lot of seating but that’s fine — it’s great for takeout if you live close. Otherwise eat in as they will cool down fast. I’ve had Empanadas before but not for a long time and I was excited to try them again. They have a wide variety to choose from and the lady that waited on me was great at explaining the differences to me — chalk one up for great, friendly service. I brought the Argentinian, Jamaican and Cuban home for us to sample… All were tasty and the mango chili sauce was really good. I would recommend giving them a try as the food is «baked» not deep fried which made a big difference for me. They are reasonably priced and depending upon your appetite you will need to eat two for a meal — which is fine as you can try a couple different each time! We will be headed back again for sure!

Had the jerk chicken empanada, the filling was so disgusting. And I wish they would’ve went the traditional route and fried them, but they are baked. It’s so bad I will not be returning ever

Avoid the mac and cheese bites. Mine was one large heart shaped lump of greasy, flavorless macaroni and cheese, not worth the money or calories. Service is slow; the drive through board is just a big menu which you read first then drive up to the actual window to give your order… I don’t think it even works. Always have an alternative choice in mind because they don’t always have everything on the menu. For me, the best so far was the egg less fat boy breakfast empanada. It had flavor and ample fillings. The others I have tried had scanty middles and seemed underdone. It was ten minutes to 10:50AM when i arrived and they absolutely refused to let me order from the lunch menu. I found that annoying. Finally the food seems rather small for the price. I was really hoping for good things from this place but I am very disappointed.

I HIGHLY recommend checking this place out. The place is immaculate, and I have developed an eye for such details in my former line of work. The staff are polite and accommodating. I met the«chef» today and spoke with him at some length about his work. Everything is made fresh, using all non gmo flours, vegetables, and what have you. The empanadas are conceptual, in that you have various choices, represented by many cultures not just traditional Hispanic style. I ordered the«argentine», macaroni and cheese bites, and the cheezy grits. Everything was amazing. My hats off to the chef, really nice guy with excellent credentials and vast experience. I will DEFINITELY be back…

This was my first time going to sheri’s, and I wasn’t sure what to expect. But me and my girlfriend wanted to try something new out for lunch. And we weren’t disappointed. The food was great, service was also great, helpful and friendly and wanting to help in any way possible. We tried the jerk chicken empanada, the polska, and the Carolina. Each of them were different in there own way but delicious. We also had the macaroni bites. These«bites» were huge. The servings you get are well worth the price you pay and the prices are very reasonable. Only thing that we agreed upon was that they are best tasting when right out of the oven and didn’t sit for too long. And their hot sauce with a funny name could of been way hotter, the jerk chicken was hotter. We chose this place because we were tired of the local chain restaurants, fast food and everything and chose this on a whimb. And it didn’t disappoint. The service was helpful and friendly and went out of their way… but yet made u feel at home. The whole place was spotless. This is definitely a place to try out and is definitely a place that won’t disappoint for something new to try. And by the way there hours are great. Best part is there chef makes and prepares everything for you and delivers it to your table if it’s not ready to be served. A must go to

I live in the Bartonsville area and I have been waiting MONTHS for this place to open to try the homemade empanadas and see what other great items they have to offer on the menu. I have been so sick of all the chain restaurants that are in the area and I was excited to see something new that was a «ma and pop» place Unfortunately, the food at AhhSheri fell very very short to me. When I first think of an Empanada I think about the golden, crispy, and flakey crust; and these Empanadas are far from that. They were white(they looked barley cooked) and soggy. I don’t think that they were fried, they might have been oven baked but they still could have been cooked longer and they would have eventually crisped up. Also, some of the fillings inside the empanadas were really bland and just had no texture or taste to them. It was like the outside was soggy and barely cooked but the inside was overcooked. I think if they went with more classic empanadas and didn’t try to do a more modern, new age type of empanadas it would be more successful. They have like 20 different kinds of empanadas on the menu and today myself and 3 other people ordered 10 empanadas; 5 different types, 2 of each. I can only say I maybe liked one of them with the exception of the under cooked shell. Plus, when we ordered and asked what there sides were they had maybe two but they were out of both. I don’t understand, its your opening week and its only 11:30am how can you already be out of all your sides? It is very sad, I thought that this place was going to be something totally different. AhhSheri needs a lot of work already if they want to last.

First things first. Ive been in the restaurant business for over a decade and a half now. I have a culinary degree from the CIA which is the premier culinary school in the country so i think its safe to say that i know a little bit about food and restaurants. For myself i love looking on Unilocal, chowhound, tripadvisor or even open table at reviews of the restaurant i work at so i can make the adjustments that are needed to survive in this competitive industry and i hope the people of Ahh… Sheris do the same. With that being said this place is a disaster zone. I wish I could say that this is their first week open and they are having opening«jitters» but i dont think thats the case. It pains me to see a place like this open up and serve slop like i received today. I am one of the biggest supporter of family owned establishments but this place is gonna need some serious work. I want to start off with the food first. I ordered at least one of every empanada they had. When making a empanda you only have two elements two worry about number one being the filling. Im not a huge stickler on what empanadas are stuffed with although i was hoping ahh… sheris would have more of a latin style of empanda(their empanadas were more european/southern style i guess???) but whatever you stuff your empanda with you have to make sure all your ingredients are their and that every element is WELLSEASONED. The secound aspect is obviously the crust. Ahh. sheri dose a baked empannada which i like better then fried but if your gonna have a baked empanda they have to be the right thickness, golden brown, crunchy and buttery. Ahh. sheri hits on none of these points. The empandas i got were soggy, white unfilled unseasoned messes. Most of the empanadas were also missing several key ingredients. I got a pulled pork empanada with no pork. One of the empanadas i got had collard greens that might as well of come from a can. Also they had virtually no sides at the restaurant. All they had were fried mac and cheese bites and a potato salad that hadn’t been made yet. Thats right no rice, beans, potatos no nothing. It looks like the owners wanted ahh. sheri to be a high volume restaurant but the structure of the kitchen/floor alone says other wise. This place in no way will be able to serve in a high volume capacity. It took the 20 minutes for them to bag up a dozen premade empanadas for myslef i would hate to see them deal with a larger crowd. The interior is pain and for its first week open it seems as if the staff has no energy or want to be there. All in all this place already needs a huge make over in its first week. It seems to me Ahh. Sheris is just another place were Ma and Pop try to open their own restaraunt but are failing miserabley. Hopefuly they can get some help and hire someone that knows what they are doing before this prime location goes under.
