The atmosphere and a wait staff is world class. The food is just ok. I applaud the chef for being unique, but the food needs to taste better. All the elements are there for something great but the flavors are not there yet. The slaw is a great example. It is a dry slaw. Literally it has no sauce or even salt and pepper. Even if it just had lime juice salt and pepper it would elevate the slaw. The tacos were ok but they were missing something. I also had a barbecue ketchup whiskey infusion that was kind of unbalanced I added siracha to it and it was perfect. This place is worth visit I will be back.

Shorties is introducing some new menu items. Today I had the ginger portobello mushroom taco salad. You can also have it as tacos too. Shortie’s always comes up with new flavors. This dish had sautéed peppers, lettuce, tomatoes, broccoli slaw, guacamole, and salsa. I added black beans. All this on a light, but crispy taco salad shell. Yum! Always great service too.

My favorite place to eat downtown. I liked his food since his food truck days. I really miss the build your own burrito though. I drive the waitress crazy asking them to bring it back. Hint hint.. But they have a build your own bowl option with tortillas on the side. I recommend getting a Asian beef bowl with thai noodles, sesame sauce, and ask for tortillas on the side. Then at least you can make some mini burritos. Makes my mouth water thinking about it. They have other good food too. I haven’t had a bad thing yet. A buddy gets pulled pork sandwhich all the time. Their elote on the side is awesome with any dish. They also have a neat idea of putting trivial pursuit cards abs would you rather cards in the table. It is fun to quiz your friends and pass the time.

Great vibe. Food is great. Had. a great burger. My son had the chicken grilled cheese and my husband the shrimp tacos. Food was great. Service was good. Will def come back.

Our experience here was perfect… perfect, I tell you. Miranda is the kindest, coolest, most laid-back waitress I have ever had. They designed a vegetarian street taco made of eggplant that was both sweet and spicy. The cilantro rice was great, and the queso was delicious. I especially like that the entire kitchen staff came out to watch me eat their newest vegetarian creation. These people are cool, and you will be cool if you eat there.

Such a great choice for lunch and dinner. Known for their tacos, particularly the Asian ones, you can’t get a bad meal at Shortie’s. Reasonably priced, with a small and eclectic menu, you can get things here that you can’t get anywhere else in town. My favorite is the caprese grilled cheese, melty and delicious.

We stumbled across this place while we were in town. What a great surprise! Sides were very good. Best elote I’ve ever had. My mac and cheese would have been exceptional if they would have sprinkled the same parm mixture on it. My main course(chicken chorizo enchilada) was full of flavor and Sue said the same re her burger. Hand cut fries were very good and I even asked for more of the side pickles because of their flavors. I’ll try the jalapeño dills next time.
