What a great nostalgic place. Carl gives great service. We were passing through and needed my sons hair trimmed. He also cleaned up my hair also. My wife was happy with both the trims. Enough said. If mama is happy then we all are happy.

It’s like walking into the 50s! I love the small town and warmth of the décor. Old man Carl can even give a good haircut! Check it out

Needed a haircut on my lunch hour and this was the first barber, not salon, I saw and so I stopped in. I’m glad I did. Carl was a very nice gentleman and had a good conversation while he cut my hair. Price was good and he did an excellent job. I will be going back again.

Route #66 landmark, indeed. Truly a pro, Carl gives the best service you’ll find anywhere. I had such a good time in the chair — the man is witty, a character, a card, to say the least — I put him in my new novel, Sagebrush Kill: Murder in the Mojave(e-book is $ 2.99 at B&N and Amazon). The protagonist, ex-Marine Aaron McCaan, stops in to see Carl about an Indian vet who used to come by the shop from time to time. Good read, good haircut! What else could you possibly want? :)

A straight forward no BS barber that does a heck of a job for the price he charges in a historical landmark setting in ol’ Barstow. If you want a haircut go to supercuts or the like, but if you are interested in a good hair cut experience stop by «The Uptowners» and see Carl.

A classic 50s barber shop with nice Route66 decoration and full of memories. Remember that this is not a place to get a great haircut but it’s a Route66 landmark. Great chat with the barber and the other customers. A great experience!
