I’d love to give ZERO stars to this place. I was running my afternoon errands, when I hit this place up it was 4:58, I saw the new sign posted saying the close at 5, so I figured I could grab the ONE item I needed and be out in the 2 minutes before they closed. So once I opened the door I was coldly snapped at saying«We’re CLOSED». Geez did they even know I needed one item? Of course they didn’t… Need-less to say I’ll NEVER give them a dime of my money, again. Yes I’ve actually shopped at your establishment before was the service was borderline at best, even with the knowledge that I was new in town. With a golden opportunity to relish a new customer and new business. I guess they don’t want new business nor new customers. Way to go BJs.

Erin’s advice about the tap water in Barstow was welcome to this out of towner. I was there for more than just a pass through on the way somewhere and her store is like an island of peace and sanity. Thanks again! Fully stocked health food store with snacks, gluten free items, teas, soaps, frozen treats, refrigerated beverages and foods, and of course every supplement under the sun.

As an out of towner passing through, we needed some vegan snacks for the road. BJs is cute and quaint and had a great selection of items — even having things I haven’t seen in my Trader Joes or While Foods, good prices, and the lady who took care of us was very nice and helpful.

I am very pleased to find BJ’s. Having just moved from San Pedro in the South Bay I was used to having two Trader Joe’s and a Whole Foods nearby. I was worried I’d have to go down the hill to get groceries and products for my family. The Barstow location had a variety of dry goods, canned goods, cold and frozen items, and my favorite: vegan junk food! Flavored tofus, seitan jerky, brownies, cookies, ice creams and other treats. I was in a rush so I didn’t get to browse their book section or the large offering of homeopathy and personal care items. Lots of vegan, gluten-free, wheat-free, and raw selections(as well as non-vegan foods). I was pleasantly surprised to find products in this modest-sized store that I searched for everywhere in L.A. — and some products were cheaper at BJ’S! The woman working there was very helpful. She told me about the other BJ’s locations, specifically the Victorville location that carries fresh produce. She also said any non-perishable items that another BJ’s carries can be shipped to my local store. She is even willing to order items they don’t have. I can’t express how glad I am to have found BJ’s, I have a feeling I will be visiting often. If you’re on a Vegas/Laughlin run and you need to stock up on some yummy healthy, natural snacks, BJ’s is just a quick hop off the 15 freeway.
