Starbucks

This Starbucks would have to be ranked in my top 5 of all. I’ve been around – Starbucks in all of Wisconsin, Illinois, Vegas are and parts of the Southern California region. And this one is second to my home town one – Rockford, Illinois; bell school and state.
The staff, friendly to the friendliest – they for sure beat my number one ranked in friendliness. It’s very clean, I mean very clean! Buuuut… They do need to pay attention to the tables, some people tend to leave their trash, or just leave a slight mess, so maybe when you come out to check to garbage and the condiments, maybe check the tables as well – bathrooms are also very neat.
Now I am having an AMAZING mac ‘n cheese, and it is just. Jaw dropping good. You’ll drool from how good it is. Same goes for the bacon wrapped sausages – does are addicting.
The place is pretty big, that’s good because when they were across the street next to the shoe repair and etc, it was crowded and small, so the new building is great, and it’s less noisy.
Oh and did I mention the staff is just awesome! I did. Especially the evening staff.
Now why is it second best? For me, it needs work on the tables, to be kept well cleaned, and maybe, maybe, floors a bit touched up. I know winter, it’s hard, but attempt.
Other than that. This is my second. Best starts compared to the numerous of others I’ve been to in 4 different states.

I normally stop at this Starbucks before I catch the metra train. Today was the first time that I went here at their new location. I normally do not say anything about baristas or workers, but today there were 3 baristas working. ²⁄₃ baristas did not care about speed. There was a good crowd due to the high school just letting out. It was around 2:50. There was one person on the cash register and 2 other employees doing something else (by that, I mean, should be making drinks, but instead they were just standing around doing nothing.) This girl on the register was busy taking the orders, heating up the food items, and getting the non heated food items. The 2 other baristas were standing there, talking to each other. They started making drinks at some point, but they were going super slow. The girl barista on bar was more concerned about talking to her friends that were sitting next to the bar.
Overall, I have had pleasant experiences here. Today was just an off day. I still find the staff to be super helpful and nice. That might just be the morning staff though.

This is my favorite area Starbucks! I probably come here about 3−4X a week. The staff here is so friendly, even when it’s jammed with rude and obnoxious middle/​high schoolers (sorry not to hate, but I’ve witnessed disrespectful kids here numerous times). They always make my drink exactly how I order it and I usually modify it (skim milk, no whip etc) and they are fast! Great location :)

I normally wouldn’t take the time to review a Starbucks, but this place stands out from the rest and it’s worth noting that. It’s nice to walk into a place that greets you by name when you come in. I see the ladies that work here almost everyday on my way to the train in the morning. They are always kind and polite no matter how crazy the line is. They are quick to ask about me and what’s going on in my life… You don’t get treated this well at most places. This is what keeps me coming back, every morning.

I haven’t purchase a beverage from this location since I patronize the local coffeehouse down the street. I did stop by over Black Friday weekend to buy a gift card for a family member and a gift for a friend.
Specifically, I was looking for the ‘You are Here’ Chicago mug. Granted, I could have bought one at the many shops located near my office in downtown Chicago, but I figured I’d get it at this location if they had it since I was already in the area.
I didn’t see any on display, but did find some ornaments with the Chicago logo on it, which wasn’t what I wanted. I asked one of the associates if they had any in stock. Perhaps only the city locations carry the mug. She proceeded to tell me that there might be some in the back. Why they were in the back and not out on display for people to purchase beats me. Perhaps they simply hadn’t gotten around to setting them up yet or perhaps the employees were savings mugs for themselves.
Side note: here’s an example that the thing about having none in the back isn’t always true and you really can’t go wrong asking them to check. She went into the back and found a mug for me, which I purchased. We also purchased a gift card for my fiancé’s brother’s wife who adores the ‘Bucks.
Service wise, the women we interacted with were friendly and knowledgeable. I just wish they had the mug out so I didn’t have to ask for it.

This is not my favorite Starbucks location. It is hard to get to when there is traffic and/​or as train because few streets cross the tracks. Parking is lousy. The interior is small and often packed with loud high schoolers. When I go to Starbucks I am not looking to hear the latest gossip about whose dating whom. I want too relax and enjoy my beverage. They do have a lot of outdoor seating though.
The service is friendly and prompt. They make a good drink here!

Lousy parking options. Also, the last time I was in there I wasn’t greeted just «what would you like?». I then proceeded to hear about the employees problems as they talked to each other. It would’ve been ok, but she also mentioned allergies, then wiped her eyes, then her nose, then made my drink. Without washing her hands! Yuck! Please wash your hands if you’re going to wipe your mucosal membranes while preparing food!

Smaller than some of the other ones I been too… the staff was friendly and the place was clean, yet i think they had a smaller selection of items than some of the other stores did… there were a couple of other places that didnt have that chain store feel but the place wasnt bad at all.

Awesome Starbucks. Awesome staff that always remembers my drink and they hustle in there– the line moves fast. Great coffee!

Actually this review is a general review of Starbuck’s at several locations. Most of them I’ve been to are the same. I mostly go to Starbucks with a friend of mine, who calls the coffee served in most restaurants «brown hot water»
I always get the same thing — their «regular» small sized coffee for $ 1.80. I don’t like all that other «yuppie» crap they serve. The coffee is very good.
The one thing that stands out to me, is that service is too darn slow, especially for the number of staff on hand. One reviewer of the one near the Palatine train station commented that service is too slow to be at a train station. Well, I think it’s too slow in a general sense.
And, incidentally, we generally stop for coffee at a time when there few or no other customers.

Hey cool! I’m the first to review Starbucks in Barrington. Well guess what? You don’t really expect me to review Starbucks do you? You could buy coffee at the gas station for half the price right? But you don’t, you go here. Why? Because it’s cool? Because you have some important work to do on your laptop? Because you like coffee right? Right! Of course you’ve had better coffee, but you know what your getting here. Plus it’s probably been a good 30 minutes since your last cup. I give it 3 stars due to lousy parking options.
