Sojourn Salon and Spa

Ever since I left this salon, every day is a bad hair day for me. I had the worst cut ever by an inexperienced stylist (Sara) and would never go back. After complaining that the cut looked nothing like the picture I brought, a redo was done by another stylist about 1 hour later. It was too late. Too much was already chopped off, uneven and to me, looked like a helmet was left on my head. I have thick wavy hair, and Sara just didn’t know how to cut it. Run, don’t walk, away from Sojourn Salon.

I went to Sojourn for the first time after getting a Groupon for their Beauty and Wellness Treatment. It was 120 minutes and included a facial, massage, and foot reflexology. Susan who performed the treatment was great! She walked me through the facial, explaining to me what my skin type was and the best way to care for it. If you’ve ever gotten a facial before you are probably well aware of the dreaded extraction portion, however I was pleasantly surprised to find out that this facial did not require the type of painful extracation I had grown to expect with facials. Instead this facial include 2 different types of cleansing. The last cleansing procedure brought the impurities to the top of the skin, and all Susan had to do was use a warm cloth to wipe them away. It was really wonderful. Afterwards she applied this lip balm on and I swear that’s all you need. My skin was GLOWING! On top of the facial (which takes up the majority of the time), she did some foot reflexology (which I had never had and never thought I’d like, but was wonderful) and a back massage. All in all it was a nice relaxing afternoon. For the price I paid with the Groupon it was well worth the cost. As an addiitonal bonus, they give every first time customer a welcome packet which includes a ton of coupons for future services! Definitely worth checking this place out!

I came here after I met Amy at the Cherry Hill Aveda. She had given me a complimentary consultation and had a clear vision for my hair. Plus she gave me a coupon for 50% off my first hair visit so even though the salon was in south jersey, I decided to make the trek.
From the second I walked in the door, I was treated like a first-​class customer. My coat was taken when I walked in, I was offered tea or water while waiting, and even the waiting area was a gorgeously decorated space.
Once I was taken back to have my hair shampooed, I experienced the best shampoo of my life! Stefanie (?) not only was thorough with my hair, but also gave me a scalp massage that was just awesome!
Then I was sent to Amy’s chair for my cut. We didn’t make a whole lot of small talk, but the cut turned out well. I will admit that I didn’t like it at first (I actually told her it reminded me of a ‘shaggy dog’). But instead of being offended, she asked what she could change. Although the final product did take a little getting used to, she did tell me to call her with any feedback!
My trip there was a very relaxing one and I’d love to go back again!

If you are looking for an uppity salon where the staff is more impressed with themselves then anything else this is NOT the place to go. If you want a salon that treats their clients like gold and who’s staff is tremendously skilled and friendly then this is the place for you. Great mani & pedi from Doreen, great facials from Bobbi and amazing hair with Nicole. I’m so glad I’ve found Sojourn!

HORRIBLE! It took over 3 hours to get a partial highlight and trim & I had to get my friend to fix my cut because it was horrendous. The staff was the rudest bunch of people, they were giving each other dirty looks & constantly whispering to each other. Very uncomfortable atmosphere. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this place at all!

I started going to Sojourn probably a year or so ago on a friend’s recommendation, and I’m so glad I found out about them — So far I’ve only used them for hair cuts, but I’ve heard great things about their other services too. I’ve only had Dot cut my hair since I started going to Sojourn, and she’s fantastic — I can’t speak to the other stylists, but from the cuts going out the door, I’d say they’re all wonderful. Everyone is very nice, and I look forward to my hair cuts as an evening of relaxation! Highly recommend!
