This was our first visit to Pizzico in Barrington, on a night that we were celebrating our anniversary and we could not have been more pleased with all aspects of our dining experience. The service was prompt and attentive yet not overbearing. The atmosphere had a fine dining feel while still being comfortable and relaxing. The appetizers were nicely presented and very tasty and the extensive wine list made it easy to find just the right wine to pair with our meals. Our main courses were not only perfectly prepared and served piping hot but were nicely balanced and extremely tasty. Both of our main courses were so bountiful we had plenty to take home for our lunches the next day. We ended our meal by sharing a chocolate moose which was decadently sweet but not overly rich, a perfect balance. The prices were higher than we expected, even though the quality and quantity were excellent, the price point would likely prevent us from being frequent customers. We were so pleased with all aspects of our dining experience we will be recommending Pizzico to our friends as a great place for either a special occasion meal or as a can’t miss dining experience.

Our server was good and the atmosphere was nice. We started with bread(cold) and flavorless dipping oil. Tasted like it was oil right out of the bottle. We shared a Caesar salad which was bland(I actually had to add salt for flavor) $ 12.99. Also shaded a lobster pizza with one very very small piece of lobster on almost every slice, however there was plenty of arugula everywhere. $ 19.00. Mediocre at best. Not a good dining experience. Won’t go back. If you are going to charge high end prices you need to put out a high quality product. Really wanted to like this place.

The restaurant isn’t terrible the food is cooked well and the staff are good. However I feel that there is something lacking. Probably because the prices that they are charging reflect those of fine dining restaurants in Providence rather than an adequate restaurant in the suburbs. The bread and oil only so so, the calamari was great, the entrees were ok and the dessert rather bland. Coffee good. Many items on the menu could be easily cooked at home by a competent cook. There is potential here but the restaurant seems to be resting on its laurels.

Updating my review. Came Saturday night for raw bar and cocktails. DONOTHAVEOYSTERS. I’ve been eating them for years, never been sick. 2 warnings I ignored– they only had one type, and when I asked the bartender, he said he never eats them. Final warning sign I should have heeded, he destroyed every single oyster he shucked. I’ve been experiencing classic vibrio infection symptoms since Sunday afternoon. I’ll spare you the details, but look it up, not good.

I went to Pizzico for the first time for restaurant week with my girlfriend mainly because of the diverse menu items they were offering. Many of the participating restaurants offered a few items to choose from, but Pizzico’s list was varied and seemed intriguing. We ordered the BBQ pizza to share as the appetizer. What sepreated it from other BBQ pizzas I’ve had was that they used a tangy, possibly mustard based sauce versus your typical ketchup based standard sauce. It was a pleasant surprise. The crust was thin and crispy and had nice flavor, and certainly did not lack toppings. It was quite good and I commented that it was probably one of the better pizzas I have had in a while. For the entrée, I had the Funghi con Vitello(also offered con Pollo). It was a lunch portion, but I felt there could have been a bit more veal. It was pounded thin and propped up by the potatoes. I can’t argue the flavor though, as the veal was cooked very well and the sauce was excellent. Complimented the dish very well. For dessert I had the tiramisu. It was creamy, had a nice flavor and wasn’t mushy like some tiramisu can get. It came with a side of whipped cream that added a nice touch to the dessert. All in all, Pizzico made a nice first impression. The service was good, the food was very well cooked and certainly for restaurant week, the price was excellent. I would recommend it to others based on my experience there.

Came here for lunch during Restaurant Week — it was a cold and dreary Monday so didn’t want to go to Providence and have to try to find parking and walk through the windy snow blowing at our faces. =) We got here around 2, decent amount of people in the place for lunch. Nice ambiance with an open kitchen. As long as the vents are strong enough, I always like the view of an open kitchen. We started off with the bbq chicken pizza — tasted amazing. Great flavor, didn’t skimp on the chicken and had more of a honey mustard bbq sauce instead of the typical bbq sauce — great flavor and dough was chewy and crispy all at the same time. The red onions were cooked just enough that it didn’t have too much of a raw flavor to them. I had the pollo al limone. They served very decent sized lunch portions — we both enjoyed our meals thoroughly. My chicken was in a lemon sauce but it didn’t overpower the dish by any means. Came on top of potatoes and green beans. There was only one waiter servicing the entire time we were there, but he did a great job making sure everyone was happy. For $ 14.95 pp, this was def a steal! Def worth coming back to.

Came here Saturday night frankly as an after thought, the places we wanted to go were either closed for the holiday weekend or too full to get in. I say as an after thought because I have been to both locations twice and neither location is has ever been on my must go to list. I like the atmosphere in Providence more than Barrington but the food was always very bland and tasteless. Last time I came here was not long after they first opened and I wasn’t impressed, thought the pasta dishes were way over priced. Arrived at 8:15 to basically an empty restaurant, 2 tables in the dinning room and 4 people at the bar, not a good sign. Knew I was off to a bad start when I asked the bartender what he had for lite beers besides the Coors light on draught and he started to name everything except the lite beers. We ordered the margarita pizza, he asked if we wanted bread and we said yes. Bartender came back said they were baking more and it would be a few minutes we said fine no problem. 15 minutes later pizza arrives served by a waitress, no bread until we flagged the bartender down 10 minutes later. Apologized said he was distracted, this was with a total of 4 people at the bar, can you imagine a full bar and restaurant. The margarita pizza was just overwhelmed by the balsamic drizzled on top, a good margarita pizza’s flavors should be from fresh tomatoes, quality cheese, and basil not balsamic. Guess the experience just confirmed why this isn’t on my list of places to consistently go to.

Fantastic upscale contemporary American restaurant that has excellent food, drinks and service. I come here a few times a month with my wife for food and drinks. The barbecue pizza is absolutely delicious as well as the other pizzas. What I like best about the restaurant is the upscale atmosphere and special drink concoctions that are switched up almost weekly. Great place and will continue to be back for food and drinks.

I love the Barrington location much better than the providence location because of how roomy and open it is. However, the bartenders at the providence location make way better Expresso Martinis. I feel like the food was really good at both locations but if I wanted to have a few cocktails with dinner I would go to the Providence location

I’ve been here a few times and always had great food and drinks. I like this location better than the Providence one for some reason. Staff is always friendly and they always have good deals and specials. Will definitely be back.

First off… it is so dark in there that I could barely see my fiancé who was seated right next to me; our waitress was fairly obviously new so she struggled a bit; the coloring on the table«cloths» is cute but doesn’t really fit the atmosphere; the food was pretty decent, I’d go back maybe a bit earlier in the day so the sun will shine some light in…

I’ve been here a few times and the food is pretty good. The owner responded to my Unilocal question promptly. Answer: you may bring your dogs and enjoy our outside patio at both locations. How cool is that?

My husband and I met up with some family for dinner here recently, since we happened to be in Barrington and we had a certificate that needed to be used. After taking a look at the menu, it was a good thing that we had the certificate — the prices were pretty outrageous. I mean, I live in Boston and I dine out at nice places pretty frequently. Still, these prices shocked me. I mean, it’s not NYC! The restaurant itself was very nice, with a classy, understated décor. Our servers were attentive and quite friendly, which was a big help, since we had two young kids with us. They brought over some crayons for them and engaged them in conversation. A nice touch. But speaking of the kids… The kids menu prices shocked me too. $ 10 for a bowl of pasta; $ 11 for a kids’ pizza? I have never encountered prices like that on kids menus, even in Manhattan. I digress. I ordered the spinach and ricotta ravioli, which was described to come in a ‘tomato and garlic broth’(but which was really just a tomato sauce, chunky, nothing brothy about it). Regardless of my issue with the classification, this dish was fantastic. The sauce was outstanding. My husband got the mushroom tortelloni sans pancetta, and as a mushroom devotee, he was pretty psyched with the dish. All of the other diners in our party were pretty happy with their dishes as well. My mom, who avoids gluten, got the eggplant parm with gluten free pasta. She said the eggplant was excellent, but she was not happy with the pasta. She left it all on her plate. It doesn’t take much to please her, and there are good varieties of gluten free pasta, so hopefully they’ll address this at some point. An easy fix. We will likely return to Pizzico, maybe for a date night or something, but only if we have a deal of some kind as the original menu prices are just too high. Price notwithstanding, this is a gem of a place.

I had been in after they first opened and my experience was mixed. Not bad but not great. I was talking with someone who knows the owners and told me they were aware of the previous issues and made personnel changes last year, and that I should try again. So I gave them another shot and I was impressed! I’ve always loved the décor — very trendy and stylish. The service was quick and courteous, and the food was great. I went in for lunch and had the Clams Zuppa. Highly recommended!

Mixed experience here. The food is quite good but pricey, even for Barrington. But they offer all sorts of great deals during the week(all pasta dishes for $ 15, entrees half off, etc, check their website) which makes going on weekdays a good option. The service is friendly but very slow, even when they are not that busy.

So I just read this again, and it refreshed my aggro on the matter: «Jim H. Business Owner hey asshole you obviously have an agenda here in your fake review. I suggest we meet face to face to „chat“ about it. Punk coward. Douche bags like you cheap’n this site.» A direct message to me from the owner. Just so y’all can see the integrity.

They can be pricey but their half priced apps deal is worth it. Their margherita and italiam pizzas were delicious. If you’re going for this deal make sure that you’re sitting in the bar area, otherwise you won’t get the deal.

I have only been to the one in Barrington once and I wasn’t impressed with the service or the food(and I am a creature of habit and usually get one of three items), but it could have been an off night of the luck of the draw with our server. But I can say that the many times I have been to the Providence location I have always been thoroughly pleased. The food is consistent and the service is wonderful. I always get the Fungie con Pollo(I’m sure I have that spelled wrong) it’s wild mushrooms with chicken in a slightly sweet creamy mustard sauce and comes with grilled asparagus and roasted fingerling potatoes– awesome sauce. But recently I changed my tune and tried the Pumpkin seed crusted salmon with sweet brandy glaze and those tasty grilled asparagus with roasted potatoes. Don’t scoff at the idea that both dishes come with the same sides, they are really good and go with everything — if it ain’t broke… I am usually too full for dessert but the tiramisu and espresso looks divine. I will return again and maybe try an app or two and skip right over to dessert.

Food was just ok. Soup came out warm/cold. Ordered the special pizza of the night and they forgot to put the chicken on it! For the quality, I thought it was a bit expensive. And it didn’t end when we left. Got home and they gave us someone else’s left overs with ours. No thanks. Not worth the $$$

Really cool atmosphere – trendy and cool, but still casual, with an open-restaurant kitchen. The before-meal bread left much to be desired(dry and bland with plain olive oil for dipping) but the food was quite good. I had the margherita pizza with balsalmic glaze which was a good portion for the price. We went on the first weekend night that the place was open and the kitchen staff threw away my friend’s meal instead of boxing it, by accident. The manager offered to comp the meal or make another to go.
