I know the ladies of Barrington Hills must love this place — it’s the perfect place to pay through the nose for a catered garden party in the guest house. This small catering/food business is a great idea — until you actually use them. The chef is nice enough — I think she fancies hereself as a Barrington Martha Stewart. I used them for a Christmas party last year, and although the dishes were tasty — the prices were outrageous. I think we ended up paying over $ 400 for food that wouldn’t have fed 10 people. One of the items I ordered were mini tartlettes and I didn’t realize until we got them home that mini actually meant miniscule. I was expecting something maybe 3″ across so I ordered three dozen. They were literally not even an inch across — and they cost a buck a piece! Yikes! The Pomme de Pin Potato salad is $ 10/lb! Yowza! The cookies we bought(at $ 2 each) were burned. Like I said, most of the items we got were tasty — just way way way overpriced. I guess I would recommend them if you won the lottery and money means nothing to you. Otherwise, I would say go someplace else. I know we won’t be back — it wasn’t worth it.
