I am coming up on my 1 year anniversary, post major surgery that without what Dr. Wool did, I wouldn’t be here today.
No one ever expected me to be able to be where I’m at today (working full-​time +)
I guess if the medical odds were to happen as they should’ve, I wouldn’t be here to tell you all about what an awesome, dedicated surgeon Dr. Wool is. I can’t thank that man enough for what he did for me a year ago (August 5^th 2014).
I’m sure my situation surprised him quite a bit, because a small bowel volvulus is a very rare condition, that there hasn’t been a whole ton of research done on here in the U.S.
I guess when the day is done, there are just so many wonderful things I could have to say about Dr. Wool that I would probably run out of space by the time I finished.
I’m known to write reviews that are honest and truthful and I just can’t say enough good things about him.
Please, if you are in a situation where you can have a planned surgery, go see Dr. Wool at Barrington Surgeons and just mention my name (Michael Minch) and Dr. Wool will know EXACTLY who I am and what that man did for me.
A few months ago, I ended up with two incisional hernias, for which he repaired for me using Bio-​A and it’s been great. The scars will likely never completely disappear from what originally happened last August, but it’s better than the alternative! (Being 6 ft under)
We all have someone in our lives that impact us in a special way that we will never forget and I will never forget what he did for me. There’s really nothing greater than someone giving you a second chance at life. As my family and friends have said to me, «your job here is not done»

It is rare to find a doctor’s office that runs on time. Both times we went to Barrington Surgeons, we were in a room and being seen by the appointment time, if not before. The office staff are very friendly, caring and accommodating. Dr. Wool is a skilled surgeon and took good care of my husband during his gallbladder removal. I highly recommend Barrington Surgeons. It isn’t very often I come away this impressed by a doctor and the office staff.

Top Notch Surgeon’s office. My first experience was calling to make an appointment after being referred here by my general Internist. The lady on the phone (wish I’d gotten her name) was SUPER-​sweet; giving me all the info I’d need, timing, paperwork, website, directions etc. She was SO sweet. I hung up smiling. It’s a rare thing nowadays to find a friendly Doctor’s receptionist, most of them are mean with a capital ‘B’ !!
My second experience was calling a couple days later to say «I can’t wait a week to see you. Can you please see if there’s a way to get me in sooner?» to which she searched and was able to get me in same-​day. Now I realize this was probably luck, but i was THRILLED not to have to wait since I was concerned about what was going on with me.
Fast forward to the day of my appointment, and man did I continue to be impressed! A NICE office, with sturdy furniture, and comfy chairs. FRIENDLY receptionists. I waited no longer than 8 – 10 minutes and was brought into the room. The doctor walked in within about 60 seconds. I saw Doctor Witkowski. He was very-​friendly. Walked into the room cracking jokes, and introducing himself. He seemed to listen to what I was saying, looked me over, and explained what he thought it was.
Overall, I would highly recommend this place. Everyone was great, and I felt very comfortable. They get 5 stars in my book ALL AROUND: receptionists, waiting room, Doctors, cleanliness & friendliness, etc…

Great people here! I see Dr. Wool, and he’s always professional and honest about procedures. He’s also a funny guy! (Can I say that?) He even remembers who was at my surgery, and has me say hello to my parents. Surgery both times have been seamless and scarring very minimal. Recovery time is so short because of the laparoscopic techniques he uses – wonderful, modern surgery! The nurses at the check in window are great as well, they know me when I walk in. These are all things I look for in a doctor office as it makes me feel like an actual patient, not just a paper file :) it’s why I keep going back, and I live about 45min away in Chicago. Overall, wonderful experiences
