Their chocolate rocks. Go for the dark variety if that’s your style. Always nice to support local family business.

I have been visiting the Richmond Anderson’s Candy Shop since childhood, and it is by far my favorite chocolate on the planet. Everything is hand crafted with care and is very unique. Do not miss the peanut butter cream and peanut butter crunch candy bars, there is nothing like them! I was so glad to find they had opened up a shop in Barrington which is much closer to my house. Please help support this wonderful family owned business! :)

This is my first time to taste the Anderson’s chocolates/candies and its really really good! Once it melts in your mouth, you can’t resist to have a bite and another bite and another bite. It tastes even more better than any branded choco that I’ve tasted. My two thumbs up for you Anderson’s and five stars. You made my day…

This place is so charming! A great addition to downtown Barrington. My mom and I came here to snag some Easter candy for baskets and they had quite a selection. The chocolate covered orange is not to be missed, no matter the time of year. The chocolate lambs were quite popular and came in all different kinds of chocolates and sizes. The prices are comparable to Fannie Mae, they aren’t the cheapest but the chocolate is quality. I like that you can buy individual pieces of things you would like to try but they have no problem sending you home with a box of your favorites to share. I will definitely be back for special occasions/holidays!

Mostly a chocolate shop, I would say. Wide variety including different types of chocolate covered nuts, caramels with sea salt, boxed varieties and more. I just stopped in to pick up an order that was place for the company my mom works for. They made up a variety basket and box for a couple clients. The woman at the desk was very friendly & gave me a free salted caramel sample. Yum! The chocolates look & taste homemade. I definitely want to go back & try a bunch of things here. Everything looks so good! Prices seem fair in comparison to other gourmet chocolate shops.

I think that the candies are fresher than the candies at Long Grove Confectionery(in Long Grove). The problem I have run into at other stores is that the nuts are often stale/rancid. The nuts on the Lars bar tasted pretty fresh. The candy bars are $ 3 each. The raspberry mallow bar was pretty good.

We participated in Barrington’s self-guided wine tasting walking tour, and this was our first stop. It was a little while ago, but it was still bitter cold, so the welcoming room with chocolates and wine samples was an oasis.(Yes it was the first shop on our list, but we parked far away and trekked north to start a loop.) The chocolate making processes were explained to us in detail, so the visit was both delicious and very interesting. It’s one thing to eat a piece of candy, but after hearing what goes into making it, a new perspective is opened up. Honestly, every sample tasted great, so we picked up a few individual bars which also ended up being awesome, [1 mint and 1 peanut butter crunch both with dark chocolate] For the record, the wine was pretty good, but it wasn’t the star of this location. I love me some wine tasting, but I almost forgot about it as I was savoring my chocolate pieces. I most definitely plan to be back when the weather becomes bearable. I think I’d even retrace our steps from the tour because we thoroughly enjoyed every shop. We especially loved kicking it all off with Anderson’s. Even if we don’t do another ‘tour’ of Barrington, I’d still like to come back to replenish my chocolate stash and pick up gifts. Mr. Wonka would be jealous.

DELICIOUS! If you ever need chocolate(which is probably always) this should be your first choice. I don’t have the proper words to describe how good their chocolate is.
