I’m basing this review on staying in the carriage house suite/Robert burns suite. Check in is at four and you must ring the main house bell, the door is locked. The suite entrance is on the side of the house. It is totally different than the main house. I suppose it would be good for a family, as there’s a kitchen, living room and a separate bedroom. The décor is not in keeping with a Victorian B&B. We’ve stayed in the other suite in the main house, it’s much nicer. I wouldn’t stay in this suite again, too shabby and run down. We felt too isolated from the main house and did not get the welcoming B&B feel we wanted. Breakfast at eight the next morning was nice, but all three of us had to go together as there was only one key and the front door was locked. Coffee is served at 7:30, but couldn’t get in the door without the key! Wifi didn’t work in our suite which was a pain. Love the innkeepers, not the suite.

Stayed here in early June to tour the local breweries in the area, and this B&B absolutely made the trip. The breakfasts were incredible and the best start to the morning one could ask for. The innkeepers were very knowledgeable about the area not only in where to find good restaurants but also in the history of the town. The piano playing was a treat as well.

Unfortunately my wife’s and my experience with the Maplecroft B&B had a few challenges and in our experience with other B&Bs that we have experienced, we cannot issue a review above average. Part of the challenges may have been since we stayed in June which had us needing to keep the window open since it was rather warm in our room and the AC unit was terribly loud. The fan was also a bit loud which kept us up. Our room faced the main street(Washington St.) which had light traffic in the later hours but the traffic built up starting at 05:30 which woke us up. The room also had challenge light intrusion protection. It was only equipped with horizontal blinds that would not close completely allowing light to come in early(around 05:30). Using rankings of 5 as best, room cleanliness was a 3(cob webs and dust). Comfort a 3 due to noise and light intrusion. Breakfast was a 4, rather good but we have had better. Inn Keepers were a 3, sorry. Although friendly, they seemed distracted. We had two bags that were a bit heavy. My wife took hers and started up the narrow stairs and the inn keepers didn’t offer to assist her. Infrastructure of Inn has several challenges with water leak stains and ceiling cracking in many locations. Broken window was noticed. Exterior paint very challenged. I also tend to enjoy fresh baked cookies in the afternoon and/or a glass of a nice beverage with some additional social time with the Inn Keepers at my B&Bs which Maplecroft didn’t have. The Maplecroft is not a bad B&B but it is also not a 4 start. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I would rate them a generous 3 star.

We loved this B&B! Wonderful breakfast, comfy bed & a claw foot tub. The hosts were wonderful! One of the hosts plays classical music in the evenings on a grand piano — a really nice end to an evening!

I went to the maple croft for v-day weekend. We arrived around 3:45 checkin was from 4 – 9. No one at the inn when we arrived 5 minutes later the inn keeper arrived and said«check in is not until 4 pm» we both looked at each other like ok it’s 10 of 4. He proceeds to ask us what room we were staying in I couldn’t remember he looked it up and brought us to our room. We didn’t sign any paperwork or anything. There was no key for our room so anyone could come in. The house overall was super creepy and very antique and old. Breakfast is at 8am exactly and if you don’t wake up at that time breakfast is not offered. I have been to plenty of b&b’s and many of then offer breakfast for a certain time frame. Overall I would say the customer service was not that great on the plus side the bed was super comfy and they offer organic soap, shampoo and conditioner. If you do decide to stay stay in the el corte suite. It’s in it’s own corner and the last room on the left upstairs so no one walks by your room and it’s the 2nd biggest.

My husband and I stayed at this Victorian bed and breakfast during the summer last year. All we had were some photos of the rooms, which looked pretty nice and off we went. We were so pleasantly surprised upon arrival. The house is even more beautiful and peaceful inside. The owners have gone through great lengths to preserve the house’s Victorian décor. In fact, the owners are downright amazing. They are the actual inn keepers and one of them is a chef. He is the one that whips up the most delicious gourmet /organic and locally sustainable breakfasts each morning. Our room was enourmous(for a B&B), it had a large bedroom, a small living room, and it’s own bathroom. Not all the rooms are the same size so you do need to ask for what you want upfront. As they say, ‘the love is in the details,” you really get a sense that the owners want to make sure their guest’s experience is memorable. Every bathroom has local lavender and pine-scented toiletries(we literally ‘smelled’ like nature) that smelled delicious, and these aren’t travel size, they are actual size so there is plenty to use. They also include maple candies, and lot’s of tourist information on all the things to do around Vermont. At night, one of the owners is a classical piano player and he delights the guests with some tunes. But it’s not distracting if you want to turn in early as we couldnt hear it from our room. We loved staying here and we highly recommend it to others so they may enjoy this gem too.

This is such a lovely place, full of charm and ready to be your home for the nights you stay there. From the outside it’s almost a bit like a castle of a victorian and you can stay in that tower, my friend and I did.(It’s called the Tower room.). The furniture is great(two pianos! And a Tv room tucked out of the way). The ambiance is comfortable and relaxing. Bathrooms smell of lavender and downstairs classical music is playing. The bed was comfy and the room came with a little guest book to write in, a notebook with things to do in the area, and some complimentary maple candy. The hosts were really great! Kind and eager to make sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Barney, the cute westie host of a dog, was also very cute and hospitable. I don’t really like dogs but this one I’d make an exception for… he kept his distance until you call him over and pet him. I took lots of photos while my friend gave him lovings. Breakfast was at 8am(although when I was concerned about a flight time they expressed they might be able to change that, ended up the flight was later than expected though). There was a fruit cup of fresh kiwi, strawberry, pineapple. Sunrise muffins. Juice, coffee. Bacon(YUM!). Eggy frittata. Roasted veggies. All very good! I really liked this place and would love to go back again!

The inn needs some work on the outside, but we found the inside to be very clean and our room well appointed and comfortable. This is a typical b&b, so don’t expect doors that close all the way, or much for closets. The breakfast was served family style at a single table, and you must be there at 8am. There is a small common area for evenings.
