Barnegat Diner

I’ve only been here a few times. It’s a typical diner. Clean but nothing spectacular. Service is hot and cold. I’ve had it where the servers are on point, attentive and timely and slow, chatty and distracted.
The food is typical diner food. Burgers, breakfast, disco fries. Last time I got a burger I asked for medium rare and got medium well, despite that the burger was surprisingly juicy. I didn’t say anything so I don’t know if they would have redone it or not. Their fries are good. I’ll eat them and I’m picky about my fries. The rubens are decent to. Big, but still a typical diner ruben.
Over all not a bad place to get something quick if your in the area, but don’t go out of your way.

I absolutely love this diner and I eat here several times a year. It is a real small dinner inside of a strip mall so it is pretty easy to drive by it without realizing that it is there but once you do discover it I have no doubt you will enjoy it. This Diner is very clean and the staff is always so friendly to everyone it almost feels like your surrounded by friends. Great portions and great tasting food made for an excellent dining experience that I will be sure to recommend to anyone who might be in the area.

Usually go to the Lacey area on the weekends and decided to travel a little further South to give this place a try. The review I read about it being unclean was totally false. This place was really cozy and reminds me a lot of the Silverton Diner in Toms River. The staff seemed friendly and we were seated at a nice booth. The early bird specials went until 6pm which is really nice, we got there at 5:40 so that was perfect. I ordered the chicken francese, my mom ordered the chicken parm. Mine came with a cream of turkey soup which was amazing and was a full bowl not just a cup. We didn’t get a bread basket or anything like that but I didn’t see any other tables with one so I guess they don’t do that here. The chicken came out quickly and tasted good, it was a good size, as was my moms dinner. For dessert I got the chocolate ice cream which was kind of smaller and didn’t have any whipped cream which was disappointing. We got a box for my moms meal but after that our waitress kind of disappeared for a while and it was some time before we eventually got our check, besides that wait it was a nice experience. This is a cozy place with pretty big portions and reasonable prices that seems to have a lot of regulars, will definitely be returning at some point to try some of the other items.

Cathy and Cindy are great a small town weekly event… Family run, great nj diner.

If I could give no stars I would:
The food is ok, but my low rating is due to the staff. If you are not a «regular» then you seem to be a bother. Our waitress was too busy socializing to care about us. No refills, and only came to check on us bc she was talking to (and sitting with) people at the next table. When we wanted our check after 15 minutes of waiting I finally had to ask someone else to get it. It’s worth mentioning that there were only 4 – 5 tables/​booths with guests and two waitresses so they weren’t slammed. I will NEVER go there again.

Basic diner food. Nothing special. Service is friendly depending on waitress. This is just for a quick emergency food stop. I would not go out of my way to eat here on purpose. Its ok if your hungry and in the area and need to eat.

Wonderful place for breakfast or any meal. Great specials and wonderful help. This is the classic New Hersey dinner we all come to love.

It was a very good breakfast. The price is very reasonable. I would go back again especially the price is great. The people are very friendly.

Classic NJ diner. Except its in a small outdoor mall. Staff always pleasant, helpful, kind. Never bad service.

Great lil local spot. I’d sooner wait for breakfast here than at Scojos on LBI. No question.

We had a very nice breakfast and a nice waitress. Although, on the menu for pancakes with strawberries, it was ($ 2 more for strawberries) so we ordered it. We were surprised that we only got ONE strawberry sliced and it wasn’t even riped! Not worth it for $ 2

Good diner food. Good service, friendly people.

Had a great meal there today! $ 8.95 for soup chicken parmigiana, and desert BIG portion! Clean place good deal!

Generic diner. The food is not the best but hey if you’re in the area why not. I don’t know much about this part of NJ but I don’t think I’ll be back. The service was friendly that was a plus.

Always have had a good meal here. Service is always pleasant and prompt. Portions are huge. It’s in a strip mall so not as easy to locate.
