I had a good experience with the grout medic. My bathroom was all mildew, and when they were done, it looked brand new. I would use them again.

UPDATE: the new grout in my shower is peeling off in strips — I paid $ 900 to have my tub re-grouted, not to have new grout put over old grout — that doesn’t work. I have been royally ripped off, and their work isn’t guaranteed after three months, how convenient. I can’t believe how much money I wasted, I can’t afford to waste that kind of money. I don’t understand how people live lives like this, do shoddy work, give people an attitude and not have any qualms about it. How do they sleep at night? Yeah, I know, like a baby… In my opinion, based on my very expensive experience, I would not use this company again, and sorry I did the first time. I wish I had read the previous review before hiring them, the grout, didn’t look like caulk, around my bathtub cracked within less than two weeks. I called on a Thursday morning, didn’t get a call back until the following Tuesday, with an attitude no less, then told me he couldn’t come until the following Tuesday. When he did, he immediately got down on his knees, put his hands flat on the bottom of the tub and said, oh, it’s not our fault, YOURBATHTUBMOVES. Are you kidding me? So I told him, if that was such a distinct possibility that it made him check it the minute he came into the bathroom, then he should have done it at the time of the estimate and said to me, hey, your tub moves, and this is what could happen, your call as to whether or not you want to proceed with the job. He looked at me with hostility and a complete lack of comprehension, he couldn’t grasp the concept. I told him that I had had the water damage from the shower repaired, the damage I had shown him when he came for the estimate so he could see why I was having the work done, and that I hoped this wouldn’t be a repeat performance, and he snaps, we’re not responsible for water damage, says so on the contract. We had words, and he was rude and nasty, like an SNL parody, I couldn’t believe that a business person would conduct himself like this guy, and he apparently isn’t too used to someone who says, no, you can’t get away with that. Thought he could bully his way past me. He had his man, who did all of the work in my house, the owner did nothing, recaulk with silicone — the skilled worker is a good guy, but the owner is impossible, he left him alone to do two bathrooms’ worth of work, he was here 7 hours on his own the first time, owner never inspected his work after either time at my house, never made a follow-up call, never apologized for anything or acted like he was concerned that something was wrong, he left my house the initial day without even telling me(I thought it was a two man job), didn’t stick around for the follow up work either. I called the customer service of the franchise, got voice mail, and they’ve ignored me. Almost $ 900, and I feel like I flushed it down the toilet.

This company did not do the job right, then they wanted to charge us more to fix it! We had the area around our bathtub re caulked by Grout Medic. Within a week the grout was peeling. They came back 3 times(I do admit they were responsive) to try to fix it but it kept reoccurring. The last time it started peeling again the owner told us he needed to use different materials and there would be an additional labor charge! A true professional would admit the mistake(they used the wrong type of caulk for our tub) and have fixed it, but he wanted to charge us more than the estimate. We asked for a refund since he did not do the job right and he refused. I will never use them again. Beware.
