El Jalapenos

Totally awesome mexican food! Very clean atmosphere and the staff is very friendly all around, have never had bad service there. Also have never had bad food there, my son loves the rice and the chili con queso. I really enjoy the fajitas, have never had a bad one. The super burrito is amazing and very filling!!!

I’ve been there number of times and had small issues with them. Never once have I complained but this last time I had a free lunch available on my belly card so I went to redeem it on a to go order. I was told that I couldn’t use it because it was a dine in only. Well I payed and got it home and find inside my burrito which was cold and so was the rice and i found a stick. So know you tell me how that happens. This place sucks never waste you money on time on this establishment. PLEASE NEVER EAT HERE.

Went for lunch with coworker salsa was good and I ordered a shredded beef and cheese and also got rice food was good. This was lunch menu and a ½ off coupon and still came to $ 15. That seems like lunch prices can’t say I’d make effort to go back and didn’t get refills on soft drinks

Our food is amazing every time we come here. It’s also super fast and a lot of it. You’ll bring some home with you. Highly recommended!

Service is always good, although it is so popular here that you may wait a while for a table on a weekend night. Food comes quickly though.
We are vegetarians so have limited ordering potential anywhere, but they come through, especially when you dine in and give explicit instructions. (sorry, but massive amounts of fried green peppers do not make for a good veggie burrito! Give me other veggies too, heck I’m saving you the cost of meat!).
Usually order the Super Burro with just veggies and, if I am not very explicit, it arrives with lots of peppers, onions, and iceberg lettuce: o (
They had a good spinach thingie at the end of last summer, on their separate special menu, and it was really good. I hope it makes its way onto the regular menu!

Always have a great experience. Classic margarita on the rocks is the best around. We wish you were closer to Canton. If you ever consider a second location…

They have great authentic Mexican food. This is our favorite restaurant the service is fast, friendly and they make us feel at home! The manager/​owner always makes a point to come over and greet us with a handshake when he spots us. They have the best salsa in the area. Best recommendations are shredded beef enchiladas and seafood nachos. …Amazing!

First the good: Had not been here for a while but thought the food was very good, nice menu and the service was great. My problem? When I went to pay, I was told, in a rather rude way by a woman who appeared to be the owner, that they no longer take the
gift certificate I had purchased about 2 weeks prior to our visit. I could tell I would be wasting my time trying to argue with this lady, so I shrugged, paid, and will just go back to Casa Del Ranchero where the food is comparable. Too bad because up til paying time it was a great experience!

Love this place. They are so friendly here. Favorites are the Camarones a la Diabla and melting chimichanga. Signature Margarita is a little pricey but it is super tasty.

We go here probably once a month. If you like frozen margaritas, order the peach. It is to die for!

I love this place. We have been here many times and will be back. The drinks are flavorful and the food is more than one person can eat.

HOLY SMOKE!
El Jalapenos is basically just your average mexican restaurant that could easily be compared or confused with El Rincon or Mi Casa, especially in terms of food. All your regular staples, where it doesn’t matter what you order, every dish looks the same. Margarita’s are also just okay, taste very artificial.
Aside from the food, the service was good and we had the pleasure of sitting on their brand new, adorable patio. Well, it was adorable for about 5 minutes, until it started to fill up with tables of chain smokers. I thought it was illegal in the state of Ohio to smoke within so many feet of a business? Has that law changed? Or is El Jalapeño’s a private establishment that it able to avoid these regulations?
In any event, we will not be returning until this business enforces the smoking ban; and I can enjoy my dinner without inhaling smoke.

This used to be my favorite place to get Mexican food around, and still make the best mango margaritas :) and they got belly here :)

I haw eaten here many times for lunch and am never disappointed. The employees are always very helpful and prompt. The food is very good and you get a lot for your money. Try out the shredded chicken chimichanga! Good queso, too.

Gross… Never go !!! Lukewarm, bland food

First time customer. Food was fabulous and fresh. Salsa and chips are delicious and complimentary. Large portions. Matt, our server was friendly and knowledgeable. Great atmosphere. Two thumbs up! Definitely will return!

Food used to be way better now hit or miss. Drinks are still good but hard to go back to. Not sure how I feel about this.

I’ve eaten at El Jalapeños (the spelling is wrong on the actual page, this one is right) for about a year now. When I started to go here, the food was excellent, some of the best Mexican I’ve ever had.
HOWEVER, as time has gone by, their food has gone from awesome, to alright, to «eh», and now pretty close to mediocre.
They lose a star right off the bat because of the obvious, their food. Although it may smell good from outside, it is deceiving. I have gotten many different things here, from their Super Burro (basically a giant burrito full of anything Mexican), flautas, and enchiladas. It all pretty much tastes the same. When there WAS Mexican spice in the food when I first started to come here, it all had the same flavor/​beef and chicken flavoring. Now, their beef tips taste like they could be in a stew, and their salsa is watered down. Their food is almost downright bland, something you DO NOT want to taste or hear from a Mexican restaurant.
The biggest, and possibly dangerous complaint I have for their food? It is almost never hot. Most likely, you will get a lukewarm plate of food, that will easily be near cold by the time you are done with your meal. This alone deserves another star taken away from their rating.
They get another star docked from their rating because of the atmosphere. It isn’t exactly the cleanest place, but it isn’t dirty. The biggest problem is the people that come to eat here. There is an 80% chance that you will get seated next to a party of like 15 people, and at least half of those people will be drunk by the time they even sit down. They will be screaming/​laughing/​talking at easily over 100 decibels. Bring your earplugs, folks.
The service, surprisingly, is extremely nice. They continuously offer to top off your drinks, and are very nice. The owner is very nice as well. I almost feel bad to give this restaurant such a bad rating because of how nice their service is, but I have given this restaurant probably a fourth-​chance since they have gone downhill.
Sorry El Jalapeños, but I have eaten my last bite from you.

This is more expensive than other mexican restaurants in the area and isn’t authentic at all. Decent food and there is a better mexican place in Barberton. Casa del Ranchero.
