The Inn at Wawanissee Point is the best bed and breakfast I have ever experienced in Wisconsin. My husband and I had planned a nature retreat weekend, and we found this place because it’s near Devils Lake. We didn’t realize it came with acres of wooded trails and gorgeous views for our private use on the property! The interior of the house is beautiful, and our room was exceptionally comfortable. The innkeepers, Trudy and Dave, were extremely welcoming and helped us plan our adventures in the area. Trudy prepares gourmet breakfasts, including homemade granola, that are not only delicious but enough to get you through a day of hiking. We had our breakfasts outside with the hummingbirds each morning overlooking a stunning view of Lake Wisconsin. And the wine and cheese hour is delightful. We will definitely be back. I can’t recommend this place highly enough!

We stayed here the weekend of Nov. 6th, 2011, for my birthday. It was not our first choice because we had wanted to stay somewhere nice right in the Dells. Sundara was booked and Rhapsody Resort will NEVER get our business because of their TERRIBLE customer service! Well, as I said, it wasnt our first choice because we’d never done a B&B and love our privacy. Boy did this place change our whole perspective and made us wish we’d have saved all our energy searching out other places to go!!! It could not have been a better weekend. Dave and Trudy were so friendly and accommodating. The nicest people you will ever meet! We felt that we were the only ones there despite sharing the Inn with another couple. There is so much to say about this special place. First of all, you will not find a cleaner more nicely decorated home. The craftsmanship of the place was incredible. You will have to visit their website or Trip Advisor to see all the other amazing reviews and stories on the Inn. So much love was put into this place. To me, it was more like a boutique hotel or private estate with an unobtrusive(and amazing) waitstaff. The view from the enormouse picture window you see right when you walk in is spectacular! It overlooks acres of woodlands and Lake Wisconsin. At night they may even have the telescope set up so you can get a perfect view of the state capital in Madison!!! They have romance packages you can get which is what my husband must have gotten because Trudy kept stocking my room with incredibly romantic surprises that included Wine, truffles, chocolate covered strawberries, champagne… and other things. Our room was the Bordeaux room and it was HUGE. It was so pretty and spacious. The pictures on their site depict it better then I can describe it. The bed was also wonderful!!! Very luxurious. We were so spoiled. In the mornings Trudy cooks the most mouth watering nutrious breakfasts you’ve ever had! She’s an amazing cook. We had crepes one morning and my favorite, eggs benedict the next. Perfection! In the evenings during the wine and cheese hour in their hand crafted full size BAR you can hear Dave’s tales of how the Inn came to be and various other tales. He’s quite entertaining. He even left us a note one night after dinner letting us know where the special wine I had been drinking was with special glasses so we could enjoy it while outside in the hot tub! It’s the little thoughtful things like that that do it for us! On our last day we took a hike down one of the many moss covered trails on the property and I’m so glad we did! We got to see«Lake Louie», the fresh spring fed creek, and sat at one of the many benches along the way soaking in the beauty and serenity of the place. It was magical. They were so friendly, offering suggestions on the best places to eat or get a massage. They even made our reservations one night at this quaint little café in Baraboo we would have NEVER even considered. It was spectacular! Im a picky eater so I was lucky enough to look at all the menus for the different suggestions they offered which was VERY nice. We will be back!!! You can also reserve the whole place for reunions or girl/guy getaways. I just hope it doesn’t get so popular I can’t get a room!
