They don’t even deserve the one star! Walked in at 11AM and was greeted as if it were a bother. Walked out … I’ll bring my business elsewhere! No Bah Haba hospitality here!

This restaurant has poor service and overrated food. My friends and I visited Main Street after a night camping in Acadia. We were looking for a good breakfast, and this place had good reviews on Unilocal.Immediately after we sat down, we were brusquely told by our server that they don’t do tap water, and we can buy a bottle if we want. What kind of a breakfast restaurant doesn’t serve tap water? I was also disappointed with the menu options. I’ve never been to a restaurant with such a short list of options. Maybe I could have ordered off menu, but I’m used to breakfast places providing pricing for a lot of combos so that I can mix and match meal components. I ordered a bacon omelet with rye toast and home fries. Instead I received a steak omelet with wheat toast. I didn’t want to deal with the server again, so I didn’t complain. The omelet was served lukewarm, was overly greasy, and lacking flavor. The home fries were just thin slices of potato with no seasoning. It almost tasted like sliced boiled potato. I was disappointed to pay $ 12 for the wrong omelet, soggy home fries, and a bottle of water in this small town restaurant.

Bill and the folks here are worth the price of admission– and the food is crazy good too. We’ve had two breakfasts and a lunch here– impressed every time.

Excellent early morning choice for breakfast. Some locals seen here. Opens at 5am. Reasonable prices for being in Bar Harbor. Nothing fancy, but good food and great way to start the day.

Nice sized BLT with a small side of potato salad $ 6. Thick bread, great potato salad per my teen girl– has egg in it. Huge lettuce leaves and bacon strips on the sandwich. Only open until 2. About 3 – 4 blocks from the bus stop. Stopped for breakfast Sunday– very busy. Coffee $ 2, but only okay. Due to busyness of breakfast, waited a while for refill. Breakfast meals are $ 5-$ 9. $ 6 for 2 pancakes– bummer no real maple syrup(and my pancake maniac teen said they were aunt Jemima’s pancakes). The atmosphere was very stressed this morning in part due to the unexpected crowd(Labor Day weekend– really?). I left feeling hurried and harried. Bathroom unisex and out of soap.

After watching the sunrise from the top of Cadillac Mountain and driving down to Bar Harbor at about 6:30AM, there were few breakfast places that were open and the ones that were seemed to be either totally dead or suffocatingly crowded and touristy. Not here. The Main Street Market(now including the Coffee Cup Café) is a little off the beaten path, and therefore is a refreshing escape from the tourist trap that is Bar Harbor. The atmosphere and employees are friendly and up-beat. The service is cordial and they seem to appreciate your business. The food is delightfully classic: perfect for filling up on pancakes or eggs before a hike in Acadia. You will regret not leaving a larger tip when you leave.

My family stopped in here for lunch on a rainy day, on a whim because we were sick of the crowds in the north part of town and found a parking spot right across the street. We were SO glad we did. The food was classic diner food, and was AMAZING. Portion sizes were large, especially for the price, and I don’t know how the ONE chef at the grill managed it, but he got 4 meals perfectly prepared, all steaming hot. If you like BLTs, this one will not disappoint. Crunchy bacon with fresh lettuce and tomato, with REAL mayo(not that Miracle Whip junk). My husband loved his burger, the sweet potato fries were delicious, my picky eater son loved his chicken fingers and fries, and my daughter said the beef soup tasted homemade. Bonus: there’s a market in the back where you can load up on snacks before heading out to hike the park. Delicious food, great prices, friendly service, a little away from the crowds: Four thumbs up!

Might be short on atmosphere but if you like a great diner stop here. Friendly waitress working hard. Fabulous bacon and eggs served piping hot. High quality bread wheat toast also served hot. Great value.

America, diner — from the appointments to the walls to the log carved diner seats, the down home Maine experience… burgers, Shepherd’s pie, home made goodies for desert — Mmmm…

It’s easy to miss this place. It’s a Gulf gas station, convenience store and diner rolled into one. Don’t be fooled by the unpretentious setting, these guys cook a tasty breakfast. .. and we didn’t get hungry until dinner.
