Simplicity at The Mast Farm Inn

I had a reservation at The Mast Farm in for Nov 12^th & 13^th for the Cousin Sara room. I couldn’t make it due to unfortunate circumstances so I was able to give my reservation to family of mine. They said the dinner and breakfast was good there but the room was okay. I told the room really looked nice to me from the pictures I saw on their website. They showed me the pictures they took of the room and I came to find out that they gave them a different room. One that was not as nice as the room I booked! They switched the rooms on us and I felt like it was a bait and switch. Because of this, I can not recommend an establishment that would do this sort of thing. Nothing like this has ever happened to me before. I still can’t believe it. If you reserve a specific room, that is the one you should get unless notified and you accept it!!!

This review is for dinner; the breakfasts are amazing too but more part of being a guest at the Inn. You can come for dinner without being a guest.
Wow! My husband and I are foodies and are tough critics. Our meal was simply amazing. It was all unique and different, using incredibly fresh ingredients. By far the best meal of our trip. Wine list isn’t bad either.
I had a chilled corn and pepper soup with crab that was delicious; husband had a salad that was very fresh. (Lots of the produce comes from their garden across the street.). We both had pork tenderloin for the entrée, with a side of farro salad with ham (to die for) and sweet potato at gratin. The pork was stuffed with some fresh cheese and herbs. Busy plate but wow, was everything good. Great.
Only thing not outstanding was the cobbler for dessert — it was too much like a cake for our tastes. But the caramel ice cream was good.
Can’t wait to come back!
