You are spoiled for choice in Bandon. But, looking for a light snack I popped in here and was warmly welcomed. Ordered an oyster sandwich on a soft sesame bun. Slathered with really good tartar sauce(instead of the usual red«special sauce»). Absolutely delish! Fun little tackle shop, super friendly owner. Walk 50′ to the waterfront Boardwalk to eat outside, or in the glass-enclosed picnic area. A perfect little gem!

Great fish & chips. I’d pass on the clam strips next time, but a nice lunch stop. Outdoor seating facing South(warm!) on the main drag. Also picked up some handmade cedar plugs for next year’s tuna season!

Best fish and chips on the west coast!, this coming from a fish and chips snob! The chowder was also top notch! Stumbled into the bait shop by accident more or less… Will be back hopefully next year!!!

After cruising the boardwalk looking for a place that not only didn’t have a 30+ minute wait on a Saturday afternoon, but also had options for non-seafood eaters, we stumbled on this gem. In aggregate we had: The chowder which was AMAZING — also, not so thick that you feel like you’re eating straight heavy cream, but with a lighter milk base and absolutely full of fresh clams The rockfish and chips. These had a very light cornmeal based dusting on them, then they were deep fried. This was a new preparation for me, and although it wasn’t my favorite, it was still delicious. The basket also came with fries, a small shrimp cocktail, ketchup, and tarter sauce. The cheeseburger was delicious and spiced a bit like sausage. It was GOOD. The corn dog was, well, a corn dog. The onion rings were delicious and homemade too. The service was friendly and quick. It’s a great choice for a busy Saturday downtown.

Whenever I come to Bandon(which, unfortunately isn’t often enough since we live in Colorado), this is the place I dream of for their fresher-than-fresh fish & chips & clam chowder! Service is always friendly, too. As soon as we got here this time, we made a beeline for Bandon Bait & Tackle– even before we went to our final destination. So glad we did & it sure didn’t disappoint!

Third day in Bandon and third lunch on the waterfront. This little gem is by far the best kept secret on the wharf! Clam chowder wins hands down, excellent fish and chips and the fish taco was flavorful and moist. Super great folks with wonderful service. Check this place out… you won’t be disappointed.

This place is a must. Owned and operated by a enthusiastic gal with her heart in the biz. Seafood was outstanding, fish tacos and shrimp, and chowder were awesome. People stopped by while we were there that were locals from a few miles away, just to pick up food to take home!!!

Great place to have LUNCH! This has got to be my favorite Bait n Tackle store ever! Cuz its the only one that has food and its a true mom & son joint! Hey you can’t eat the bait at most shops and this one makes some serious fish n chips fare. This store is along the«Bandon strip». A short row of eateries and tourist shops you need to visit. We stopped to stretch out our legs and get some fresh air and some lunch. As we walked the strip passing several casual seafood restos, this one stuck out to me. Upon further exam I’m sure they do more business cooking than bait and tackle stuff. Still they have the general fishing gear used for catching ling cod, halibut, rockfish, crab and all the local tasty assorted bottom feeders like this beautiful ling cod I saw at the pier close by . All of which I love but didn’t have time to catch. Luckily for us Bandon B&T cooks ‘em all up fresh n hot! After viewing the tackle store(cool vintage reel collection on the wall ) we turned our attention to lunch. Coolness = 5*****Stars A little shrimp cocktail for starters. The small shrimp were very fresh and very tasty and had a unique cocktail sauce I liked. 3.5***Stars Chowder was also very hearty and hit the spot. I did however spike it with some black pepper and oyster crackers. Older daughter had the same and loved it. 3.5***Stars Son and I both had the 3 fish n chip special. Halibut, Cod & Red Snapper all cooked to order in a light batter. The sauce’s weren’t needed but made it even better. All the fishes were very fresh tasting and cooked perfect. My son and I were fighting over the snapper! 4.5***Stars My youngest daughter had a plain Jane burger. She ate it up but it looked weak to me. 1.5*Star The mom & son running this bait & food shack were both super nice and attentive. There are a half dozen tables outside and even a doggy mascot for the place that is super friendly. I’d recommend this over the other neighboring shops. I’ll be back… I hope Bait n food, I love it! This Mom & son place is A-OK with me!

You would never expect to walk into a bait shop, with hooks and sinkers spread all around, and order the best fish and chips on the block. But expect the unexpected my friends! This bait-shop-turned-restaurant shows up all if its neighbors with light crispy fish and shoe string fries that taste more«potatoey» than any other fries I have ever had. Everybody must try their calamari and chips, which are chunks of squid steak cut into large strips and fried to perfection. The clam chowder has the perfect amount of potatoes and a great clam flavor that compliments any dish. Most of their dishes come with a small cup of shrimp cocktail with very horseradishy sauce that should be eaten in very small portions as to not eviscerate your taste buds. In conclusion, this is one of the best fish and chips, clam chowder, and squid I have ever had and I will be returning there soon!
