This place is ADORABLE. Seriously, it’s the perfect Main Street ice cream shop. The couple that owns/runs the place are incredibly sweet and really passionate about customer service. I’m very familiar with Hershey ice cream, but I’ve never come across coconut or the Moon Pie flavors; I was invited to try both! Ultimately, I went with moon pie, which was indulgent, creamy, and delicious. However, I will be back VERY soon for homemade birch beer floats, fresh Hershey ice cream, and the wonderfully sweet and friendly owners! Pro tip(s): they also have Hershey gelato, snowballs, old school milk shakes, and other cool«float» drinks to choose from. Park in he back, get your sweet treat, and take a stroll through the ‘Ville on a warm night!

This tiny ice cream shop is located in Catonsville on Frederick Road. It’s close to some really great restaurants. Depending on when you go, parking can be tricky. I went on a Saturday night with kids and out of town guests and we all found parking fairly close by. The shop has Hershey ice cream and yogurt. I tried a root bear float. I liked that you could get a classic float or they had lots of suggestions for variations behind the counter. The staff seemed incredibly friendly and patient, going above and beyond good customer service with smiles, and little extras that a chain ice cream probably wouldn’t think to do. If you want an ice cream, check out this charming little shop and I doubt you’ll be disappointed. There isn’t any seating inside, but we sat outside on a nearby bench. I would recommend this place for anybody who likes quality yogurt/ice cream, but ready for something different than the string of yogurt shops on Route 40. Make sure to take cash as they don’t take credit cards.

I scream, you scream. We all scream for ice cream. This is a cute little ice cream shop tucked behind a stone façade right on Frederick Road. You can get hand dipped ice cream or soft serve ice cream in a cup, sugar cone, cake cone or waffle cone. They also make malted milk shakes and sundaes, too. They serve Hershey’s ice cream in several flavors that are posted on the front of the shop. Inside, you can purchase candy and other fun things. It’s CASHONLY, so bring your green. It’s a narrow shop with the ice cream counter on the right and standing room to the left. The shop owners are super nice and encourage you to hang out to eat your ice cream and listen to music. You can enjoy your icy treat at one of the tables in front of the store or on the bench next door. When Frederick Road Fridays get going during the summer, You Scream has been known to bring ice cream to the happy revelers listening to music. I think You Scream is such a great add to Frederick Road.

I’m surprised there aren’t more reviews of this place on here. It’s so good! They have Hershey’s Ice Cream, as well as low-fat soft serve with flavors that change often. When I went in there in the summer they had a pineapple vanilla twist soft serve and it was out of this world. I never knew such a thing existed! The owners are generous and they will give you samples to try. I probably wouldn’t have normally tried the pineapple vanilla twist because I would be afraid I wouldn’t like it, so being able to try before you buy is definitely a plus. They also have a premium line of Hershey’s that they rotate out. I tried the premium E.L. Fudge Cookie ice cream and it was amazing. The only con about the place is that they accept cash only, so come prepared!

Really cozy little ice cream shop on main-street Frederick Rd. in Catonsville. Hand-dipped Hershey’s ice cream on sugar, cake, or waffle cones, retro candy for sale, coffee on the side, and Boylan vintage sodas. This one block in Catonsville is a veritable feast. Grab a meal at Deusenberg’s, El Nayar, Regions, Catonsville Gourmet, or Taneytown Deli, grab a loaf of bread and some fresh baked cookies at Atwater’s, and then finish off with a cone at the little tables out front of this friendly shop. You Scream is a regular stop for us when we’re walking to get something to eat. Open until eight Mon-Sat, and it’s cash only so leave your plastic in your wallet. Stop in, have some Moose Tracks on a chocolate-dipped waffle cone, and say hi! to the nice folks who own the place. Listed as Maryland’s best ice cream shop by USA Today, probably because of its charm.
