Went there for dinner. After waiting an awkward 15 minutes at the bar while the kitchen staff stared at us, a waiter finally got us drinks. Once the bartender showed up, it was uphill from there! The drinks were typical and average prices but the food was on point! We got a corndog as an appetizer. I’m not one for fair food, but there was something different about how it was cooked– baked maybe? that made it absolutely delicious. For dinner we got the Kobe burger and tuna bites– both good but the fries and sauce we got with them is what made the meal. Highly recommended!

Felt like trying a new brunch spot so we brought my mother-in-law this am. The upstairs was really noisy so we opted for one of the two(awkward) high tables. I had the BLT egg sandwich(minus the bacon since I’m veg), hub had the American breakfast sandwich and my mil had the huevos. Coffee was Zeke’s which most of this town loves, but I think taste like burnt grounds so that stunk. More offensive was the long wait for food and the fact that both my and my mil’s eggs were cold. Not room temp, COLD. Even more oddly, my husband’s eggs were steaming hot?! The waiter seemed totally non-plussed when I mentioned that the eggs were cold, too. Meh all around.

One of the few places in Canton with a Saturday brunch. At first look, you wonder how they fit anyone in there since there is a bar when you enter than maybe 2 – 3 high top tables. Once you go upstairs, there is a cute dining room with photos of dogs all over the place. I got a pretty pain brunch — two eggs, bacon, and toast. Eggs were cooked to order and bacon was crispy and large. Also ordered pitchers of mimosas for the table to share — it was weird because it had ice and orange juice, but I didn’t taste too much of the champagne. Their mini waffles looked delicious. Two of the people in my group ordered them with banana and chocolate chips and said it was very yummy. The bartender that was downstairs was also our waiter, so he wasn’t around all that much, but he did check up on us and was friendly. I love the giant painting of the dogs as you come up the stairs. One of the dogs has a bird on its back!

Get the cazuela or fish tacos– you won’t be disappointed! My boyfriend got the burger which was good too. Wednesday is wine night with great specials. I love this place.

Yellow Dog has always had great food in my opinion and the atmosphere is very casual. The last time I had the Kobe beef burger and it was perfectly cooked. The onion rings were great too. To sum it up it is a fun little corner bar with great food!

I have been to Yellow Dog Tavern on occasion for their brunch. And it delivers a solid all round brunch experience. On my most recent visit, I had their pitcher of sangria to start off along with their Porky sandwich with their side order of roasted potatoes. My friends ordered the burger and waffle dishes, which they said it delivered. All in all it’s a good place for a lazy brunch on a Saturday or Sunday.

I’m not quite sure how I feel about Yellow Dog. We first paid them a visit several months back for a Saturday brunch and, annoying issue with singing girl and her groupies aside, were quite pleased. Not having experienced them for a dinner we decided to give them a go on a recent Saturday evening. We arrived around 6:30pm to a relatively empty bar. There were three gentlemen sitting, eyes transfixed on the large LCD hanging over the bar, who didn’t even acknowledge our arrival. The girl working behind the bar looked up at me but didn’t say a word. We worked our way back to one of the high-tops toward the rear of the front area. For those of you who haven’t been here, take note. Like every other Baltimore bar, it’s small. If you want more breathing room head upstairs. I think my biggest gripe during our visit was the service. There was a baseball game on and everyone in the bar save for me and my wife were completely enamored by it. So much so that it often felt like we were interrupting their private clap-at-the-screen baseball love fest. The entire time we were there it just felt uncomfortable. Sure, our server was friendly enough and she did stop over occasionally to ask how things were, but you could tell she didn’t want to take her eyes off of the television lest she miss some terribly exciting white-knuckle baseball action. The beer selection is slightly above average with a decent bottled selection and some interesting taps. The bartender wasn’t very knowledgeable about beer. How do I know? For starters she informed us that she had«some kind of flying dogfish seasonal type beer on tap». WTF? Are you aware that you just combined two different breweries in that sentence. I didn’t bother to call her on it. I’ve learned to pick my battles. Oh yeah, and for one of their rotating taps they had listed on the menu«pumpkin ale». *sigh* Given that there are probably hundreds of different pumpkin ales on the market this description was pretty close to worthless. Actually, it didn’t matter. When we asked about it we were told they were out. Nice. The food: Loaded Baked Potato Soup This take on the American classic was pretty good. The creamy soup had plenty of big chunks of potato and bacon and the two slices(grated would have worked better) of cheddar cheese laid on top were a nice touch. My biggest issue with this dish, it was bland. No wonder there are salt shakers on every table. Smoked Gouda Mac ‘n’ Cheese Almost one of the best renditions I’ve had to date in Baltimore with one tiny exception — it lacked seasoning. The crispy gratin topping added just the right amount of crunch to the slightly smoky cheese-laden shells below. The jalepeno peppers were a great addition, but, unfortunately, they didn’t add any heat. Too bad, really. If the chef had just seasoned it properly it could have been really good. Shepherd’s Pie(sorta) Shepherd’s Pie has no beef in it people. Moving on. With fall finally upon us the slight chill in the air amped up my craving for some old fashioned comfort food. This is one of my favorite British dishes and when done well is totally soul-satisfying. I had to try it. Yellow Dog’s take on it was, in a word, bland. I know, big surprise. It was served in a 4″ diameter porcelain ramekin that was about three inches deep. If I were to hazard a guess I’d have to say that 2.5″ of the thickness was mashed potatoes. According to the menu the meat was supposed to be a mixture of beef and lamb. I couldn’t tell what it was. Texture-wise it was more reminiscent of what you’d find in a sloppy Joe and there wasn’t much flavor. Overall, pretty disappointing. Spinach Salad Probably the highlight of the meal, my wife’s spinach salad with apples, strawberries, and goat cheese tossed in balsamic vinaigrette was quite tasty. The dressing was a nice balance of sweet and acid and the balsamic and apples were nice compliments. I wasn’t impressed with our dinner experience at Yellow Dog. The lackluster service, the under seasoned and underwhelming food and the blatant beer ignorance all combined to make it a memorable one, but not in a good way. I’ve got some suggestions: 1. Salt, salt, salt. Don’t be afraid to season. 2. If you’ve got more than a handful of beers, it’s important to educate your servers about the offering. 3. Customer service shouldn’t suffer when there’s a game on. 4. Sierra Nevada is not a beer it’s a brewery.

Never been a dog owner so the thought of yellow dog tavern didnt excite me… I first asked«they dont allow dogs do they?»…Yea they do… Waitress goes up & down spiral stairs & still doesnt miss a beat. We’re talking mimosa’s & great beer on tap; DYNAMITE breakfast(to be honest I’ve been 5x… each on a Saturday… each time around 11am). Its kind of got its own personality, but it certainly does not disappoint.

Finally after 2 years we decided to try this friendly neighborhood corner restaurant. What a good idea. We liked everything, the atmosphere, the menu, drinks. Shrimp and Grits were delicious, Mussels very flavorful. Next time will be meat time!
