Very good hole in the wall place. It’s very small so I recommend getting there early. We came at 10:30AM on a weekend and were seated just fine(right before the rush). The hangover special and eggs Benedict were excellent. Portions were huge and lots of veggies! Service was a bit slow but that’s fine since we weren’t in a rush. Would definitely like to come back!

Just showed up for brunch and they are closed. Drove 45 minutes to get here. Maybe I’ll rate higher if I ever come back.

One of the biggest let downs I’ve had at a restaurant in a long time. I wanted to take my bf somewhere really tasty for his birthday and found this place on Unilocal in advance. We don’t really care about ambiance, as long as the food and service is amazing(which based on the reviews, I expected it to be.) We came here around 3pm on a Friday and were the only people there. A few minutes later, another party came in, but that was it on the guests. We were greeted by our server and someone who I assume was being trained. Both servers seemed to lack customer service skills and seemed like they didn’t want to be there. We ordered two beers and a happy hour appetizer– a quesadilla. The appetizer comes out before the drinks, which were only two bottled beers. This was the first red flag that service was going to be an issue. After we got our drinks we ordered our food– a pulled pork sandwich to share and a side of mac and cheese and gave them back our menus. We finished our appetizer, which was tasty but small. Then the waiting started. The party that came in after got their meals and paid their check before we even got our entrée. After 30+ minutes our two servers come over and ask us if we want to order more. Umm what? We already ordered and didn’t even have menus at our table anymore. At that point, I realized they never even put our food order in. Considering there was only one other party there, they should have realized they forgot about our order a lot sooner than they did. I asked him how much longer for our food and instead of just confessing he forgot to put in our order, he told us a few minutes. THEN after that he comes over and asked us what we ordered again. After we had been sitting there for an hour, we finally got our food. The pulled pork sandwich was a perfect size and had a great spice to it. The mac and cheese was done right and was perfectly rich. Our server did apologize and give us a complimentary brownie, but sadly it was burnt and one of the worst desserts I’ve ever had. This experience was just a disappointment and a waste of our time in Baltimore.

Really loved this place, I came here for brunch and definitely would recommend the eggs benedict to anybody. It was awesome. The service was a little slow but I guess that’s to be expected on a busy Saturday morning.

Loved this neighbourhood spot in Baltimore! We took a cue from the table next to us and had a bread pudding from the dessert menu as part of our breakfast which was an excellent choice, thank you sir! We were all happy with the sweet and savoury and all around cosy breakfast items we ordered and shared. The jalapeño cornbread was especially delicious, and is the main thing I remember from the pile of goodness aptly named the Hangover Cure. This is a tiny spot with about 6 tables, and we were lucky to snag one even on a weekday, but if you’re in the area and luck out I think you’ll be happy with the chill vibes and super tasty, high quality food. Aw man, now I miss Baltimore!

Can’t speak on the food, never made it in. LONG wait time! Since they don’t take reservations, we arrived, a party of 3 at 10:55am and put our name on the list and was told 1HOUR. At the 1 hour mark, we were told there were still 4 parties ahead of us. We then left and went to Teavolve instead where we were able to call in a reservation and got seated in 5 mins(at 12:30pm). They(WfC) finally called at 12:46PM to let us know our table was ready. Word to the wise, on a beautiful day(and it wasn’t that nice on the Sunday we went) GOEARLY! Maybe its better before 10am.

I would give it a five but there were a few things. The lemon pound cake we got was horribly dry. Other than that, the food here was great. Only problem with this was the flavors don’t go well with large portions. Getting a five on my book means I finish the plate and would ask for seconds. There was just too much in one plate for me to handle. I would give it a4.5 but unfortunately I can’t. I would definitely come back but maybe order smaller items.

Omgoodness. Just discovered this place, thats been around. The bbq shrimp and grits are amazing and my side of bacon was nice crispy and not burnt. I am now hooked!!! My friend brought me here and now I cant stop thinking about their cornbread lol. Love it. I will be back.

This is a small, yet completely awesome place in the upper Fells Point for Breakfasts and Brunches. While I was there, I ordered their breakfast burritos, that were absolutely amazing, which is already a pretty solid point for the establishment. However what surprised me more is that the breakfast burritos were filled with one of the best pulled porks I have ever tried(and I have seen a few good ones in Midwest) and by far the best pulled pork in Baltimore. Will definitely return there to try more of their menu.

This was my first taste of Baltimore, and I’m glad it was a great one! We came for Saturday brunch around 11AM and there was about a 10 minute wait for the four of us. Service was great — we were seated as quickly as possible, the server was good at juggling all the tables. It’s petty small inside, so be prepared to wait. I had a bit of my friend’s fried risottos cakes with the eggs and avocado — delicious! Small portion for this, but it was good. I got the Hangover Special, which is a combination of their jalapeño cornbread, eggs, spinach and their goat milk Mac and cheese topped with bacon. The cornbread could have been more moist. I normally can’t handle spicy, but this was fine! The jalapeño is mixed in, so just watch out for those pieces. Their goat milk mac and cheese is good — the goat milk gives it a different flavor, but not anything too weird. The bacon could’ve been crispier, but overall everything was great. As for dessert, we tried the sweet potato bread pudding, lemon pound cake with blueberry compote and the bacon chocolate chip cookies. Out of all of them, the sweet potato bread pudding with cream anglaise was my favorite. The sweet potato flavor is prominent, and it’s super dense without being overly sweet. The lemon pound cake with blueberry was lighter but still made a great dessert. The bacon chocolate chip cookies(three to an order) were alright. The bacon flavor was there, but it wasn’t overwhelming. I’m not actually sure if I liked this one.

4.5 Star! This place has been on my «Place to Try» list for at least a few years. Finally had the chance to try. I went with their famous Shrimp & Grits, and it didn’t disappoint. The BBQ sauce was awesome. I especially liked the BBQ sauce because it had a bit of spicy kick to it. Shrimp was cooked well, and the jalapeño cornbread was warm and tasty. Service was attentive and pretty fast. Go early if you don’t want to wait. I went around 9am on a Saturday morning, and I was easily able to find street parking.

Pros: Excellent food — from taste to presentation! The drinks are very tasty as well and I can personally vouch for the dirty chai(chai latte with shots of espresso), the iced coffee and the sangria. The wait service based on my two visits were very good and efficient. I will be going back for more, for sure. Oh, and the music choices are awesome(IMO). Nina Simone and other legendary greats make the dining experience a cool one. Not as positive(but not bad aspects): While the location is good at the corner of Eastern and Wolfe, parking can be a bit of a challenge. Just find street parking and you’ll be fine. Also, the restaurant is rather small so you’ll be dining very closely to other patrons but trust me, the food is kickass so you won’t mind the loudmouths(if you are as unfortunate to have fellow diners without indoor voices as we were one day). If you don’t want to deal with the close diners or parking, they do takeout and I’ve seen both Order Up and Grub hub there.

Water for Chocolate has a good balance of quality, quantity, and fair prices, giving it a solid 4 star rating. I have been here twice now, and have had positive experiences during both visits. The first time, I opted for a kale salad with shrimp, blueberry, and bacon bits(among other ingredients) for around $ 14 – 15, while the second time I tried their signature Raisin Bread French Toast($ 8.95). The salad was very delicious! A bit expensive, especially compared to their other menu items, but worth it. The french toast was actually a bit disappointing — the bread was a bit dry and flavors were good but not particularly interesting. Would probably pass on that next time. During my first visit, I got a free sweet potato bread pudding(check in offer), which was very mild(good for those of you who like dessert that’s not overwhelmingly sweet). The second time, maybe it was because my friend and I were sitting there for a while, but they gave us free brownies. This was also on the milder side. I personally love overwhelmingly sweet desserts, but both were good. Interior is very small and cozy, but service is attentive and efficient, and the food comes out pretty quickly. I definitely want to try more of their savory dishes next time, because I tried a bite of my friend’s breakfast burrito which was very good. Overall, great place to visit for meal. Seem to have consistently good prices, food, and service!

If you’re looking for a quiet and cozy brunch, this is the place for you! With only a few tables and seats, this family owned restaurant is perfect. If you’re in the mood for something sweet, order the raisin french toast. If you’re for something savory, you can’t go wrong with the quesadillas.

They were open during the blizzard weekend! Lots of people in the neighborhood trudged through the snow to get brunch, including us! This is such a cute local place that’s super popular in the area. We ordered the risotto fritters and the blackened tilapia sandwich. The risotto fritters were amazing, like they sound! They were arranged like an eggs benedict – topped with an egg, avocado, and prosciutto bits! The blackened tilapia sandwich was also good! The fish had good flavor and came with this spicy orange sauce that really pulled the sandwich together. The fish also had great texture and wasn’t overdone but also held together pretty well. Both dishes were great and I’d definitely get them both again! Service was a little slower than usual since only the chef and his daughter were manning the entire restaurant(!), but they were both super nice and even gave us a free brownie to go to apologize for the wait. So sweet of them! We ate it immediately after we left as we sludged through the unplowed sidewalks on our way to Fell’s. Maybe it was because they warmed it for us, or it was such a contrast from the chilly, snow blanketed outside, BUT that was possibly the best brownie I’ve ever had. Best brownie experience at least!

I’ve been here multiple times now, which already means it’s got to be at least a 3.5 star. I’ve come for a weekday lunch with a group of co-workers. And I’ve come for dinner with a friend and my husband. I know you’re supposed to come here for brunch, but haven’t done that yet. There’s never been a wait when I’ve gone, and that’s something I’ve come to love. It’s also super convenient that it’s a walking distance from work and from home. It’s a cute little place, probably seats something around 20 – 25 people. Their chalkboard menu of daily specials are over towards the kitchen, don’t forget to look there. I’ve had a taste of several of their sandwiches(including pulled pork and saltimbocca), I’ve had entrees off the daily specials(including pork chops and shrimp risotto), and I’ve had a taste of their salads(including the house salad and the sexy spinach salad). I have yet to be disappointed with any of the food. They have happy hour specials with discount appetizers and wine. I know it goes until 6pm, not sure when it starts. My friend and I are going to go for happy hour next time we are both off of work in time, and order 1 of everything! Great little place! — — — — — — — — — — — – Explanation of my rating system — 5*: Epitome of something, the best I’ve had, would LOVE to go back 4*: Great food and happy to go back regularly, but not the best of the category 3*: Food is fine. I may spontaneously decide to go there based on convenience. But no need to go back either. 2*: If you insist, I guess I’ll come along. I’ll find something to eat. But I wouldn’t have picked it. 1*: No plans to come back. I’ll try to talk companions out of going.

Very delish! The food was worth the wait… although…the wait was a little longer than we’d like. We brunched it this past Sunday, and the weather was perfect for the outdoor seating. It’s not a huge place so come early and be patient, it’s worth the wait, promise. They close at 2 on Sunday’s so come early!!! I’ve wanted to visit the restaurant since Unilocal reached out to help the chef rebuild after an unfortunate fire above the restaurant. So glad I was finally able to indulge. There is street parking and I believe a garage nearby to park. The french toast was AMAZING! The omelette with sauteed veggies. OMG! Just good! They have tons of hot beverages, entrees, breakfast, shrimps and grits… tons to choose from and all healthy! You will not be let down.

This place has been one of my «gots ta try» list for some time. Inside is quaint, seating no more than about 20 or so… we sat outside in the sun, which I loved. The menu is nicely sized, having several options, all that looked really tasty. I wasn’t too sure what I should get until I was table hustling and saw the stuffed omelet. Once I saw that I knew a winner was to be had. I began my meal with a pumpkin spiced soy latte, not too sweet, and not overly pumpkin-y. I love the fact that hot drinks are served in mason glasses. It really is a nice touch. For brunch I tried the stuffed omelet, potatoes, cornbread and the raisin French bread. The presentation was phenomenal, everything was plated beautifully and made me just want to dive in! The portion sizes were huge for the price. When they said stuffed omelet the totally meant it. The filling was spilling out. No complaints here though. The interior of the omelet had various veggies, from squash, eggplant, spinach etc. and a choice of meat. I had the turkey sausage. The veggies were über fresh, and I loved the change. I never thought that I would get an omelet consisting of those veggies. The cornbread was delish, I loved the addition of the jalapeños, and the French toast was cooked to perfection. It came with fruit and a lovely glaze, I have no idea what it was but it totally made the dish. I’d love to come back and try one of their dinner options totally worth the wait.

Not they have pretty limited seating here. It was a little bit squished, but homey at the same time. Food was quite excellent. Tried the Saltimbocca, which they didn’t really say what was in it, but if you look online at their menu, it’s Grilled chicken, capicola, herbed olive oil & provolone cheese on ciabatta bread topped w/parmesan cheese & red peppers; served warm. It was quite large and flavorful(although it did get a little bit too salty the more I ate it.) The meatloaf was also delicious. It was moist and flavorful, and just hits the spot. Perfect comfort food. I’d say, don’t get the hot chocolate though– it was just milk and hershey’s syrup. I’d be excited to come back to try their brunch menu as everything looks good as well as their dessert!
