Tom’s Barber Shop

I happened upon this barbershop and asked if they cut women’s hair. They do, so I decided to get a trim. Brenda did a fantastic job. It is one of the best haircuts I’ve had in 20 years, and I have been to the best shops in NYC and Wash., DC. Everyone in the shop is very friendly and helpful. Will definitely go back again. Excellent price for cut. This barbershop is worth the trip.

I’ve been coming to this place for many years now. I have strayed and gone to a few other places. However, I always end up back here because you just can’t beat the treatment and quality of their cuts.
It’s your classic old fashioned neighborhood barber shop and you really can’t do better anywhere else!

Have been to Tom’s three times now and have been pleased each time. I have finally found an old fashioned barber shop, thank God! Being a neighborhood barber shop they don’t normally have many staff on hand. I stopped twice yesterday and there was only one woman working. The first time there would have been two gentlemen in front of me so I left hoping it would be slower later. When I came back in a few hours, I was in the chair in three minutes, so your mileage may vary.
Damage is $ 11 for the cut.(AWESOME PRICE!) Unlike the gentlemans review below, I don’t see a big need for ones. If you like the cut give them $ 15 and call it a day. In relation to parking, it’s $.50 an hour. I wouldn’t bother spending a lot of extra time trying to find alternative parking for that rate, but if you see something close, grab it.

I found this place through Unilocal as my last stylist was not doing it right.
First off, the shop is nice all around. The windows have a tint so the inside is private. The shop itself is clean with lots of mirrors. They have done a great job every time with fast service.
They also know what is «high and tight»

$ 11 haircuts here. Bring some singles for your tip because they never seem to have change. All the women are very nice and get you in and out in a hurry. No frills, no bullshit, just a good ol’ fashioned trip to the barber shop.
If you don’t know Highlandtown very well, here’s a tip. Don’t waste your money on a parking spot near the door. Head 2 blocks in either direction and park for free. It’s the little things…
