Best local hometown spot in the area, especially since ownership changed a few years ago. Killer food,(from spinach salad topped with salmon or mini crab cakes to steak wrap, ghost wings, cheesesteak, juicy burger & hand cut fries) family friendly, giant beer selection and the place to catch the O’s/Ravens/playoffs you name it.

Came here about a year ago after seeing them on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, which is a shame because I live 3 mins away from here. I saw the honey ghost wings on the show and I knew I had to try them. I was not disappointed! They were so good. Perfect amount of sweetness and kick! They’re great with ranch dressing. From that day, I was sold. I’ve been back a couple of times with my coworkers for happy hour. Tried a variety of wings but honey ghost and Old Bay remain my top 2. The service is great also. Just wish it was a bigger place. When my co-workers and I come here, we always get squeezed into the back corner so it’s not an ideal group spot.

Went out with some friends recently. The staff was great and the food was as well. My only complaint was apparently we chose live music night to go and it was very loud, to be fair, not the restaurants fault. I ordered the honey ghost pepper wings as featured on DD&D’s and I was NOT disappointed. The amount of wings made it possible to share with my friends as well as take a few home for later! The sauce was great and the wings were cooked well, will definitely come back if only for these. I also ordered the cheesesteak seeing as it was their Thursday special for $ 6.50, even after adding a few toppings it came to $ 7.50 for a huge cheesesteak a healthy helping of fries and some coleslaw. The cheese steak was also excellent, and from a person who normally doesn’t like sub’s or things with a lot of bread this is a huge compliment lol. Fries were tasty as well, only thing I didn’t dig was the coleslaw but really it didn’t even matter lol. Bottom line love love loved it and will definitely be back.

We stopped in today for the $ 5.00 Wednesday Burger Special. The restaurant is small — divided by a bar area and dining area. Our server was very friendly and attentive. We started with BBQ boneless wings — a generous portion of wings with celery and blue cheese — very tasty. We both ordered the English Cheddar burger, but opted for a bun instead of an English muffin. The burgers were fresh ground patties cooked perfectly to medium rare. They came with lettuce, tomato, fried onions and sides of French fries and coleslaw. My girlfriend and I decided they were the best burgers we have had in a while. We are planning on returning soon.

Great neighborhood bar — clean, diverse and friendly crowd, bar food that is borderline five-star, and the most responsive staff you’ll find. Bonus: If you want to see one of the best bartenders you’ll ever encounter and enjoy the kind of service you won’t find exceeded anywhere, be sure to go when Jeff is working. Amazing tavern barkeep. Nothing fancy, just maniacally attentive. My dad drank here fifty years ago, he would approve. My only peeve(and it has nothing to do with the operation), when I was a kid, everyone knew the place as «The Hollow», and its slogan was«Swallow at the Hollow.» Now I hear people call it «The Swallow.» Drives me batty! So, enjoy The Hollow!

Quite the Baltimore watering hole(clientele, service, congestion) but still so charming. The cheesesteaks are as bomb as people claim. Bartender Jeff is kind, attentive, and responsive. I’ll be sure to stop by every time I’m hungry in Belvedere.

We drove over an hour after seeing this on Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives. It’s not much from the outside but such a cozy atmosphere inside with an extremely friendly staff. Ghost honey wings were extremely good and my husband said the burger was the best ever!!! I would highly recommend this place to everyone!!! Way to go!!!

Visited 2÷28÷16 Wow. I brought my family out to share a meal with my daughters boyfriend. We watched the spot on Triple D and decided to take the trip a mile into Baltimore. It’s a cool, small but lively neighborhood spot with a simple menu plus specials. My son and I ordered soups: Cream of Crab for him and a bowl of Eddie’s chili for me. Both exceptional. Best bowl of chili I’ve had in a long time. For the main course, three of us ordered from the specials menu: two of us ordered the chicken pot pie and another ordered«Not your daddy’s ribs.» I had one of the pot pies. The crust was latticed perfectly and the blend of chicken and vegetables was hearty and delicious. The other pie and ribs got two thumbs up. Very good choices. My son ordered the steak wrap. Portion looked large enough but I wound up sharing my chili and pot pie with him and I didn’t mind. My better half had a burger, sans bun, topped with grilled onions. The sides of fries were ok. Service top notch. Food same. Prices very fair. Perhaps we’ll try the legendary honey ghost wings next visit. Highly recommended.

I’ve been going here since I was a child(used to live across the street). This place is great to just sit back and relax. The burgers are great and they have good wings. The Ghost Wings are the hottest ones on the menu, but not hot enough for me. Still, good flavor. They have a decent beer selection as well

Fabulous neighborhood bar in north Baltimore. Has the dive bar feel but it’s very clean. Friendly bartenders and a really neat, cozy interior. Bloody Mary — delicious Honey ghost wings — incredible Turkey BLT — incredible French onion soup — incredible Cream of crab soup — incredible Steak wrap — bland and uninteresting Absolutely love this place.

This place was cute. I was surprised how chill it was on the inside compared to the outside. It’s a really cool gem in Baltimore! I loved their selection of drinks and how they have a lot of local acts playing there.

This has quickly become one of my favorite places in Belvedere square. It’s clean and the food is pretty dang good(hopefully it stays that way and doesn’t fall to the wayside like Zen West did, yikes!), and the staff is really friendly and cool. First Thursdays are typically open mic night one of the only ones I know of in the area. Accoustic folk-rock type stuff like you’d hear on WTMD and small bands. The talent is pretty good; worth checking out. For eats, I highly recommend the Turkey Club(made with a healthy portion of tender carved turkey meat instead of the slimy lunch meat junk), the chicken cheese steak, the ghost pepper wings, or the meatball sub. All are freaking amazeballs. I didn’t really care for the grilled cheese or chili(surprisingly) — maybe it was an off day. I don’t care, the rest of the stuff has been consistently awesome. Keep it up guys — you rock!

Such a pleasant surprise given the outside of the place– lived up to all the previous reviews! I got the honey ghost wings and they were incredible, both in terms of sauce and the quality of the chicken. It’s inexpensive and definitely worth going to if you’re craving good bar food.

After many months of bookmark, I’ve decided to give the is place a try. It is a bar restaurant very clean. Wish the grease on the table is wiped clean. Honey ghost pepper boneless chicken is 5*. The heat clears my sinus very well and I am breathing, again. they are served with celery and ranch on the side, which is perfect to put off the fire. The crab cake sandwich is very good, too. The crispy lettuce is a really nice touch. The slaw is on the watery side. The meaty crab is the show. The fries has been side for an hour and is on the soft side. Really, I just don’t know what I can taste anymore after the ghost pepper. :-) 4.5* I will be back on wings for sure.

Found this place from Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. The ambience is good and the beer selection is nice. I got the chicken wings and steak wrap, and my boyfriend got the crab cake. The wings were great! Loved the sauce! The crab cake was good. Nothing special. And the steak wrap was lackluster. Kind of disappointing. Overall a good experience, but I probably won’t be back(hence the 3 stars).

My man and I enjoy GUY’s tips from DDD so Swallow in the Belvedere section of Baltimore was a choice that made us rejoice. What a cute, homey bar where you are welcomed like friends As for the libations and food… They have a full menu board of Crafts and recommendations. I was happy to see a Philly brew in the mix! ITEMS: My honey had the The Honey Ghost Pepper Wings which was featured on DDD. He enjoyed them saying they were a nice blend of hot and sweet. When I tried them I was pleased to experience a slight smack in the face with heat followed by a rescue of sweet. They were awesome! I had the Crab cake sandwich. Now we all know Baltimore is known for their crab cakes but I just have to say this crab cake was in the running for #1 for me in Baltimore. Barely any filling and loaded with chunks of crab. Their menu is varied and contains gluten free options. To the owners: It was worth the drive from Philly and we will be back.

My boyfriend and I decided to check out a diners, drive ins, and dives place this weekend, and this one was right around the corner so we went for it. The service was phenomenal, and everyone was super friendly. I’m glad we read other reviews and got the honey ghost wings, they were outstanding! My boyfriend got the salmon salad(not sure why he thought it would be a good choice at a dive bar) and it was just alright-but personally I think that’s on him for not getting steak! I got the Reuben and was pretty impressed by the flavors. The reason I had to take off a star was for the fries. Maybe we got a bad batch but they were lukewarm and soggy. However, I’ll definitely be back and ready to try out some more of the menu!
