I got a keratin treatment done here a couple of years ago, via a groupon I bought. SAVINGMONEYDOESNOTMEANITS A GOODDEAL. I should have educated myself on this first. My treatment was done in the back of the salon bc of all the fumes it generated; I was literally given a face mask to protect me from those same fumes. My hair seemed ok at first and then literally began falling out in pinky sized chunks in the shower and when I brushed it. I definitely do NOT recommend this salon. Also — learn from my mistake and do research on new services!!!

My experience was awful as well as my mom’s. Stylist didn’t speak any english and hardly understood what I was talking about. He wanted to cut my hair the way he wanted to, but I said«NO, just the trim of spitted ends.» It was very pushy and unpleasant. The stylist started talking to the owner in his language. I don’t appreciate it. This is really unprofessional and makes me uncomfortable. Anyway, my ends were trimmed and it was time for blow dry. He didn’t use any products on my hair to protect them form heat, although my hair are very fine. And he used very hot air, and I mean VERY. At the end I paid $ 50 for a simple trim and blow dry and I didn’t feel that my experience worth the money. My mom had a haircut there as well. She has fine thinning hair which should be handled with care. But no one gave a thought to that. Again, no product use, no nothing, and weird remarks in different language. But the worst part was that when she was paying at the register, the owner came over and, while talking to the receptionist, made a joke about my mom’s thin hair, saying that a little longer and she will have nothing to style or something like that. My mom doesn’t speak good english, and this what probably made the owner so brave to say something like that, but her engish was good enough to understand. I would never recommend this salon to anyone. Rude, pushy, arrogant, overpriced. Not worth it. Ladies, go somewhere you’ll be treated with respect, because you are customers.

If you enjoy salon humiliation and being told that the style you’ve dreamed of is completely wrong for you, then this is your place! They will keep you entertained with salon drama. While I was getting my hair washed, I heard several stories about a previous employee that was fired for trying to have sex with all of his female clients as well as never getting a license. I purchased an amazingly low priced living social deal that included a haircut, partial highlights, style, conditioning treatment, and a glass of wine that cost less than half of what I normally pay for a hair cut. Although I booked an appointment with a specific person, someone else did my hair. I don’t like wine, but I wasn’t offered any anyway. The stylist completely disregarded the deal I had and didn’t give me a conditioning treatment either. Also, she gave me something inbetween full and partial highlights. My stylist didn’t speak good English or try to understand what I wanted. Instead, she styled it like she wanted. She was scared to cut bangs out of my 22″ of long, thick, hair, so I didn’t let her. She wasn’t concerned how much time I have in the morning to care for my hair or how I normally style it. She did ask where I part my hair, but even when I part it there, it’s noticable that she cut chunks out of my hair where they shouldn’t have been cut. Also, she did this terrible technique to create face framing layers where she twisted my hair and used the scissors like a saw up and down my hair. I asked her not to go that but she brushed me off and told me that that is her technique. While I was paying, my stylist rudely told the pretty receptionist that she needed her hair done. She replied that she had already booked an appointment with her stylist that clearly didn’t work here. Bottom line: Don’t be fooled by their fancy website; the service is like a hair cuttery station, not a salon.

Good haircut for reasonable prices. The stylists are very skillful and know what they’re doing.

I’m wondering why my review from a few months ago was removed from Unilocal.I had a bad experience at Salon Alpi and would not return nor would I recommend it to anyone. My story is a long one and it was posted in March. The salon called me within days of the post to offer me a free cut and blowdry with Alpi(I assume in exchange for my removal of the post), as well as free products. It so happened that I had an appt scheduled for that afternoon, with another salon, to fix my haircut from Salon Alpi, which was just 2 weeks prior. I elected to keep that appt and pay for another haircut, which was money well spent… no sense putting good money after bad. Salon Alpi’s offer was too little too late. They had opportunities while I was there and only contacted me after reading my review on Unilocal.Bad form Alpi.

I have to say that my 4 star rating is mostly for my stylist. I have followed Inna around the the greater part of the last decade(she’s worked at Zibazz and that one salon at the Pikesville Hilton before, too) because she can seriously do no wrong. Every time she’s done my hair, whether it was for an updo or a blowout or color, I have walked out grinning from ear to ear. She is such a great stylist. As for the salon: it’s clean, it’s nice, it’s in a great location. However the owner kind of leers at young, good looking girls, and has made me feel uncomfortable when I’ve been in there. Also, I am pretty sure that it is the owner’s son that covers the front desk sometimes, and that boy does not know his hand from his foot, nevermind being a receptionist. He messes up appointments, forgets to write them down, doesn’t cancel appointments when people call do to so, etc. There is a nice Russian lady who I think is the receptionist/salon manager — stick with her. If you get the owner’s son while scheduling, your appointment will either not be in the book, be at the wrong time, or with the wrong person. Overall, if you like your stylist, it is a great place to go. Just watch out for those few drawbacks.
