Love the coffee and the banana bread. Pastries are awesome, but expensive. You can get a ciabatta for a dollar though! Sandwiches are way overpriced. The wheat loaf is one of the best breads I’ve ever had. Good environment to study… BUT the wifi is spotty. It used to work fine, but I think they put a filter or something on it. I can get to gmail and google things, but I can’t open any of the links, it says they are offline. Dropbox also won’t sync. So think twice about coming here if your studying is internet dependent! update 6⁄22: I’ve experienced poor wifi connectivity for 3+ times going there over the last month. It’s really upsetting. They say it’s comcast or construction or something. This time, I couldn’t even get any internet. They gotta fix it if they’re gonna expect me to go back.

Just returned from Italy and this place took me back to the sandwich shops in Venice. The Red sanwich is #1 with the chicken and vegetables #2.

What is a Cruffin? Don’t ask! Just order one! The pastries at Pitango are almost as lovely as the staff. While working in the area for a month I made this place a morning ritual and every day the baristas and the ambience got me started on the right foot! The owner is really hands on and even celebrated my full punch card with an LLCoolJ rap to accompany my free drink. He’s also been known to serve up pastries on the house during crowded weekend afternoons. Best part of Fells Point experience hands down.

Pitango is what happens if you let a bunch of wanna-be hipsters take over a long-standing refined French bakery café. The first thing the beardo from Ohio did was to tear down the iconic French-style clock that set the ambiance for the entire place and proudly announces that he didn’t like«that Napoleon monstrosity». At least, he was able to pronounce«Napoleon» — probably due to the 45K/yr liberal arts education his daddy paid for which prepared him so well for this barrista job. 2 stars for that. So, now you see your typical Sunday-morning pilates biatsch picking up her online-ordered $ 12 power goatweed bowl instead of the Baltimore young family enjoying handmade pastries. You see a bunch of funemployed beardos handling the coffee machine like they would understand coffee culture instead of all the authentic people who got up at 4 am to bake for you. As a reward for letting this happen, Baltimore millenials are getting an ugly, frog-green logo reminiscent of their favorite overpriced cruelty-free hand soap brand. Ever thought about why your much-conveyed selfies from your only trip to Europe never had anything like this crap in its background? Time to get the clock back.

This cute café probably has one of the best views of the water in Baltimore, in my opinion. It also has really good food, lachs, prosciutto, fresh bread and all that good stuff. I also like their fresh juices and coffees. I don’t think it’s not the place I could eat at more than one every week or so because of the prices, but that’s ok. I’m really looking forward to going again.

Fantastic bread and the highest quality meats and cheeses make Pitango bakery easily the best spot in Fells point for sandwiches. Outdoor seating next to the water is unbeatable on a nice day. Factor in great coffee and pastries and you have yourself a lunchtime café that you simply must try. The helpful & engaging staff round off the experience for a true five star rating.

I was sad when the previously bakery/café closed, but as many other have said, Pitango Café is honestly better. I’ve been here twice now and wished I lived within walking distance. The coffee is about what you would expect, very good for the most part, however where Pitango really shines is their baked goods and sandwiches. Their sandwiches are delicious and also just straight up pretty — appetizing to the point where even if you’re not hungry you mouth will start to water a bit. Like the Mortadella with pistachio on focaccia or the prosciutto on ciabatta(to name a few). On my first visit I got the gravlax sandwich on a croissant, a great combination of house cured salmon with briny capers on a perfect buttery/flaky croissant. If you’re looking for something sweet the almond croissant or Cruffin also can’t be missed. On my second visit I saw there was what looked like chicken salad in the display case. I asked if I could try it and I was graciously given some on a fresh cut piece of baguette. The delicious combination of white meat chicken with apples, craisins, celery, dill and sun dried tomato had me sold instantly. I choose to get the chicken salad on the tomato focaccia(a wise choice it turned out) and again even chicken salad at Pitango was delicious. In short, you need to check out Pitango Café. Their Gelato shop a little bit up the street set the bar very high for what you’d expect from the Pitango brand, and thankfully the Café lives up to the reputation.

My absolute favorite coffee place in the area. Delicious sandwiches and salads prepared in front of you from fresh ingredients, and truly great coffee. The place is pretty and stylish inside, and you can also sit outside by the waterfront looking at the people and boats passing by. And as it is also bakery, why not buy some amazing bread to bring home too.

Espresso drinks: 4 Ambiance: 3 Cappuccinos are decent. Hot chocolate as well, though if you really want a sugar rush then go for the thick sipping chocolate. Haven’t yet tried the food, but it looks delicious, so we will be back! The space is a fairly large size with a good number of tables. Large windows for lots of light. Slightly noisy since all the surfaces just amplify sound.

Had an amazing sandwich on their fresh baguette. reminded me of something you would get in Europe. It had prosciutto, mozzarella, basil, and sun dried tomatoes and was delicious! The place is really nice inside too!

This is my ideal coffee shop because it has plenty of space for those working not to feel like they are taking up too much room, and it has good coffee and a wide range of food options. I was here in the winter but its location right on the pier means it also has an unbeatable outside seating area.

My fiancé and I just ordered dinner from here through OrderUp tonight and the food was so amazing that I couldn’t wait to write a review. I ordered the Red– tomato focaccia, prosciutto, mozzarella and avocado. The bread was amazing! A little crunch on the outside and nice and chewy in the inside. The prosciutto and mozzarella were fresh and delicious. My fiancé «built» his own sandwich– roasted turkey, avocado, tomatoes and cheese. He ordered extra meat and it was HUGE! When it got delivered I was convinced that he had actually ordered two sandwiches. While we can’t really speak for ambiance or service since our food was delivered, I do have to say the people working there are great, too. When we placed the order my fiancé asked for the sandwich to be on a baguette which they didn’t end up having. Within minutes of our order being placed someone called to let us know that, and then suggested a great substitution. One of these days when it isn’t so cold(and we aren’t so lazy) we will definitely stop by and have something to eat in house. Can’t wait to order from there again!

Amazing sandwiches. I also love their fresh squeezed OJ and grapefruit juice. They are always happy to do 50⁄50 on the juice and you can also bring a bottle of wine if you want. The staff is always very friendly.

Nom nom! I got it to go and ended up shoving it in my face before I even reached the door! Remnants of cruffin and powdered sugar everywhere! And that chocolate cookie… Flourless… I swear, there is some addictive substance in it… Well… Maybe it’s just the chocolate ;) So the cruffin… I wandered on in to the bakery… Sad that bonaparte is gone… But the set up it exactly the same. And really pitango is awesome so maybe the bakery would be too? So up to the glass cases I go… Not too tempted. Tried the sample of prosciutto bread — good btw– and was already full from lunch… And I spy the cruffin. On TOP of the glass case. What is this? It looks yummy. Croissant muffin with custard inside… Um Yes!!! How could I resist? Then it was mine… But then at the register are the prewrapped cookies… What?! Flour less chocolate cookies… And they are to die for… So moist. So full of chocolate. So that was also mine. Kicker is that I got them to go… Ha! Waiting for my friends gave me enough time to be overly tempted by the cruffin and disappeared into my stomach it went! Oh well… I was satisfied! Cookie? Yes tried that too at the bakery… Sigh… There is no waiting: D I would go back in a heart beat :) good thing I don’t live next door!

I was excited to see that Pitango opened a bakery. So excited that I stopped in twice on the same day with friends to tried as much as possible. The sipping chocolate was amazing as ever. Try it with steamed milk and it’s the best hot chocolate, ever! My friend tried a cruffin(croissant-muffin). She wouldn’t stop smiling as she ate it. Must have been delicious. ;-) And I had to make two trips through the checkout line after eatting a flourless chocolate cookie. The first one was so good, I had to go back and buy three more to share with friends back home.

Usually would come in for coffee and a pastry. My favorite was always the ham and cheese croissant. Also had bites of various sandwiches and such that the Missus would order, which were always good. Very solid spot. And on a nice day, the view of the harbor is definitely worth the price of a coffee and pastry. Service is very capable, bordering on too hip for thou, but solid. If we lived here, I’d probably be here every other day.

This place is amazing. Awesome atmosphere, delicious food, and friendly staff. Always wanted Bonaparte(the bakery that preceded Pitango at this location) to have this sort of atmosphere and was always left wanting. Pitango hit the nail on the head — this will definitely be my new go to spot to do work! Also, clean bathrooms and strong wifi! 2 important factors for hours of work time.

If you’re looking for a brunch, a quick lunch or just bringing home a baguette, this is the place to stop by. They have fantastic sandwiches for lunch and you can build your own. They have a large variety of breads and ingredients– all very fresh. Pastries are also very good. I used to love the previous place but this new bakery is much better!

Really great new spot that opened up in the heart of Fells Point next to V-No Wine Bar. I really adore V-No. But having this spot right next door makes the area even more pleasant. The smell of baked goods is always a bonus. There is open seating in this place and you can order all sorts of baked goods, café beverages, lunch items(salads and sandwiches), etc. There is a large table in the back that has self-serve ice water, a tray/plate return area, cutlery/silverware, napkins, condiments, etc. There is no table service, but it’s a café, so I’m not surprised. The people who work here are nice, but since they don’t get paid tips, I’m assuming the service is not the same level as a restaurant or bar nearby where people need to tip. My favorite thing here is the ability to go and buy their fresh baked bakery breads and baked goodies, but make sure you go in early or they will run out. PS: You can buy a bottle from V-No next door, and sit in Pitango with some baked goods in BYOB fashion!

I was looking for a coffee shop that I was told to try and while walking I saw this place and thought it was the place I was told about. When you walk in everything behind the counter looks great they slice there own prosciutto very thin. The stuff looks amazing I ordered the rum raisin wheel it’s nice and buttery crispy on the bottom chewy in the center with raisins soaked in rum and flakey on top. I also ordered the almond croissant it also is buttery crispy on the bottom chewy with almond paste backed in the middle and flakey on top. Don’t try to not be messy the flakes on top go every where but you will enjoy it. They also have a cookie that they give with your coffee order it’s like a short bread cookie with lots of butter flavor and I think almonds.

Great little sandwich shop, café and bakery. Latte was delicious and property made with appropriate milk, foam expresso ratio. Fresh sandwiches and baked goods. Want good coffee try either of their locations in Fells Point. This location uses a roaster out of DC.

SUMMARY: Good coffee and croissants. Right by the water. FULLSTORY: Really pleasant, open, laid back atmosphere(a little less«gritty» charm compared to Daily Grind) with tasty cold-brew coffee(Vigilante, from DC), if you’re into that. You can buy the coffee in bottles(currently $ 12 for 32oz, then $ 9 to refill if you bring the bottle back). Sandwiches are pretty good too(good bread!), but I do think they’re a little overpriced. Staff seems friendly. Long table plus a bunch of smaller ones with wifi — decent place to work, but I’d bring headphones because the music can randomly be turned up pretty high at times. Tables outside are a great place to hang out for a yummy brioche bun on Sunday. And hours are good — open till 9 or 10pm. Only other thing that can get in the way of peaceful afternoon relaxation is the pirate boat thing nearby that may or may not be full of 30 screaming tweens and blasting the horn. Otherwise… recommended! Note: The other Pitango down the street is the gelato one. —-UPDATE 1/2016___ Ehhhh — one barista is always on the cranky side… so service majorly depends on who’s working. And I’ve realized they don’t know how to make most coffee drinks… just the very basics.

The best sandwich I’ve had in Baltimore. It’ll be about $ 12 for lunch, but definitely worth it! Amazing bread and fresh ingredients. It’s great to be able to sit out at a café on the water!

Dropped by to check out the pastries and bread. Hmm selection wise they don’t have much to choose from! It’s more of a café /coffee shop study area than a bakery. There were plenty of spaces to sit down and study with tons of outlets. The outdoor seating was absolutely lovely as well — just right on the harbor and you could see the sun set. I grabbed a plum tart and while leaning on the expensive side($ 4) it was absolutely delicious. The pastry was flaky, perfectly sweet and buttery. The plums were sweet and ripe and matched the pastry so well! I would definitely recommend trying it out.

Finally!!! Real bread in Baltimore — crusty shell with substantial gluten content made fresh everyday. It is perfect for sandwiches or a side to a hearty soup. The baguette tends to be on the crispier side, not too different than what I had in Paris. The service is fast and pleasant. Sandwiches are gourmet and best I found in Baltimore. The coffee beans they use are high quality but I yet to have a perfect latte there — this should be a n easy fix judging by their other locations. Definitely the top café in fells point. Keep up the innovation and the competition. We need more quality food near the waterfront! Ps. Add a soup(gazpacho, cold cucumber) and your menu will be complete.

Great service, delicious pastries, killer coffee. While $ 3.50 for an iced coffee is pricey to me, you can buy growlers of it(made by Vigilante) and bring it back to be refilled. It’s about $ 10.50 to get the smaller growler, but bring it back and get it refilled for $ 3.50. I make it last for four days, though those who like a generous pour would probably use it up in two days for the small bottle. Still, a good deal based on the by-the-cup price. They have a larger growler available, but I’m not sure of the cost. I also had a raisin pastry that was buttery and flaky. Reminded me of pastries in Paris. Finally, an alternative to the Daily Grind!

Fabulous! The bread is baked fresh in house and the sandwiches are massive and made with fresh, quality ingredients. You can tell that they care about the ingredients that they use. I asked what one of the spreads was and the next thing I knew, they were handing me a sample on a piece of bread to try. We ordered two sandwiches with the help of the very knowledgable person making them. He steered me away from adding too many components that might mask the different flavors and made great recommendations: 1. Tomato focaccia, truffle spread, fresh mozz, roasted tomatoes, basil and eggplant. Topped with olive oil, s&p.(Mouthwatering! My only critique is that the truffle spread did not taste like truffles… maybe it needs more? I would get this again without the truffle spread) 2. Country wheat bread,(to die for! Chewy and crusty at the same time), the cheese spread that begins with an ‘s’, prosciutto(they were out of the chicken, but gave me an unexpected sample of this to try. Very thinly sliced and melts in your mouth. Not tough or stringy at all), avocado, fresh tomato, mozz and arugula. Topped with a little olive oil. I’m not even sure which one I liked better. I was making moaning noises while eating both. My husband said that the prosciutto sandwich was the best sandwich that he’s had in years(and he wanted the chicken!) The iced coffees from vigilante were a nice treat for dessert that we took to go. Bold and chocolatey… yum! Loved sitting outside and people watching. Can’t wait to come back!

New place, upscale sandwich place(imagine a super high end version of Subway in terms of constructing a sandwich). I ordered a focaccia sandwich with roasted eggplant, peppers and tomatoes with basil and fresh mozzarella. It was delicious and filling! Iced coffee was yum and super strong(watch out if you are sensitive to caffeine).Seating is spacious with a Starbucks feel(several people working on laptops). It’s right next to the water in the heart of Fells Point. I would recommend it for a casual quick bite.
