Pirates of the Mediterranean

Pirates of the Mediterranean is a food truck that I noticed parked next to the deck at the Heavy Seas Taproom in Lansdowne. They serve Greek-​inspired dishes, which they busily make by hand as you wait, including forming the hamburger patties and chopping fresh potatoes into fries. They are fully invested in their theme, capitalizing on the synergy of their (semi-​permanent?) location, with menu items like the «Blunderbuss Burger» (Lamb, yogurt, spinach, onion) and the «Scallywag Taco» (chicken, feta, spinach). I’m generally not wild about yogurt in my food, but the fresh lamb and spiciness of the other ingredients really made for a tasty burger. My wife raved about her taco, and enjoyed the hummus that came on the side. I also ordered a side of spicy potatoes, which were fairly normal albeit perfectly cooked hash browns (except that a few minutes before they were ordinary potatoes) but had a very nice spicy sauce splashed on them. They advertise «Vegetarian Friendly» on their menu, so I think anyone will be happy with their food. They certainly know their business, and wherever they go I think they’ll be attracting a lot of devoted followers.
