Stopped by for a latte and a Danish and both were excellent. If you want a place the locals go, here it is. FYI: while I was there many people were ordering their soup. Have to try next time

Wonderful place to study. I came here on a Saturday morning and it was very quaint… very peaceful. They have an awesome upstairs area that’s perfect for studying. Oh yeah and the coffee was delicious!

I’ve ordered multiple caramel macchiatos here, none of which have been a pleasant experience. Another time a friend of mine ordered and iced caramel macchiato and I think they forgot the caramel part completely. Their black coffee has a certain slight sour taste but maybe it’s just me. Their muffins are goods do it has a cozy ambience. I do usually come back to study because of the local comfy feel.

Their food and drinks are really good, but their service is incredibly slow. They’ll have three guys making food while a line is waiting to order. You can be waiting 15 minutes just to make your order. Definitely not a place you can stop in for a grab and go.

I went here tonight for a veggie burger and some pumpkin bisque. As always the staff was friendly… as always the food was exceptional. 5 minute walk from our home, and always friendly staff. I also ventured«upstairs» and it is pretty damned cool!!!(see pics) lol

Coffee is the best pick me up in the morning or in this case midday. While traversing one side of the city to the other, I had a chance to stop at Peace & a Cup of Joe who I believe proudly serves Zeke’s coffee. It definitely has the home town feel. The folks behind the counter are approachable and hospitable. She let me order from either menu as the kitchen was in the middle of shifting. I love an ice coffee that doesn’t need much milk or sugar — this roast was a gorgeously smooth medium bodied roast with some cocoa and nutty notes. Plus, they have a ton of toppings for your cup of joe — cinnamon, cocoa, nutmeg… Luckily, my egg sammich is on both menus, so didn’t much matter. I went with turkey sausage, cheddar and over hard egg on an english muffin. You can choose how you want your egg cooked for any of their breakfasts. I was traveling, so I went for the least likely to be a gooey mess. Why anyone ever goes to McDonalds is beyond me. In the few instances of my traveling(Ya know, the where else can I stop? attempts.), I have definitely waited longer in the drive through line than I did parking, ordering and eating my freshly made sammy.

Cute place, very cozy. We came in for breakfast before going to a football game. I got a breakfast sandwich on croissant with ham and all the veggies and it hit the spot! The ham was carved, no luncheon meat here. There was a good selection of baked items including gluten free options. They have a nice simple menu of coffee and tea at nice prices. I appreciate the fruit infused water too. We will be back!

Our story begins on a summer day on Pratt St. in Baltimore. A young(ok, young at heart) NP was strolling through the neighborhood surrounding the very busy hospital where she works and was momentarily drawn to a small, quiet café. She took a brief look in the window and bookmarked the place in her mind. Weeks passed and while the NP continued to be busy, she also had not forgotten the bookmarked place she’d yet to visit. The leaves were falling now and it was time to take the time to investigate this charming café… and it was on that day that she became quite smitten with this place named Peace & A Cup of Joe. Jazz wafting through the air, a slight creak to the wood planked floors, the smell of coffee, artwork and sculptures on display, and a smile and hello when she walked in the door made her feel right at home. Then, oh yes then there was the menu… They have so many possibilities here. Baked items that are delectable(some are even gluten free AND delectable — most excellent), sandwiches and soups that are fresh and hearty, and, again, nice people working there that get to know you by name. That means a lot. My only wish is that they would get an exhaust fan in the kitchen, or improve the one they have. It’s challenging being in a place to pick up an order(which means one is in there for maybe 5 minutes) and leave smelling of whatever they’ve been cooking/toasting/sauteing. I don’t know that my patients appreciate that scent du jour… especially if they’re not allowed to eat for some reason. Aside of that, this girl is very happy with all that Peace & A Cup of Joe brings to our little neighborhood community. May the good that you’ve done in 2015 carry over and blossom even more fully in 2016!

Came in at 2pm and ordered a gluten free sandwich. Took 20 minutes to make and put regular bread on. Café was empty as well. Come on guys

I frequent Peace & A Cup of Joe because it is close to where I work and the prices are fair in return for good quality food made clearly made with love. I was all up on their iced coffees this past Summer. Nowadays it has been all about the cappuccinos and espressos– which are all equally as amazing. I normally go for the drinks, but I recently had a breakfast sandwich with cheese(I don’t remember what kind, but they offer a couple of options), egg, spinach and mushrooms on a plain bagel. It was pretty damn delicious. I also got a hash brown. Solid. In the past, I have received shoddy service from one particular barista whom I do not believe works here anymore because everyone who has helped me out recently has been incredibly sweet and welcoming. I really appreciate me some great service. The ambiance is also relaxing and spacious. Perfect place for grabbing a quick cup of delicious coffee or having breakfast on your own or with a friend!

Good atmosphere and coffee, but it takes way too long to get a cup of coffee! Might be the only cozy coffee shop near the Inner Harbor, though, and the service is friendly enough. If I lived in the area, I might frequent it, but probably not likely to hike up here again.

A comfortable breakfast joint if you sit facing away from the TV playing ESPN(an odd intrusion on an otherwise nice ambiance). This is an escape from the corporate blandness of the convention center hotel restaurants. They could stand to have more vegetarian options. That said, the food was delicious, the people nice, the music great. Recommended.

I was looking for somewhere semi close to my office that would have a good quick breakfast and a nice chai tea. This place came up after a quick search. I love that I was able to place my order through the Unilocal app and run right in to pick it up. Apparently the app is wrong with its weekday breakfast times, breakfast really ends at 11, but they accommodated me at 1130 since the app allowed me to order it. The place is really cozy and you can tell people enjoy setting up shop there for the day. I was greeted by warm smiles and waves from patrons as well as the people who worked there. On to the food. I got an omelette and it was delicious. They even added cheese to it after the fact which was a nice touch. And my chai was one of the best I’ve had. I’ll be back on one of my Saturday morning coffee shop days just to sit and take in the atmosphere while having my drink.

They make a good cup of Joe but can’t say you’ll always get the peace with it haha. Upstairs is nice and cozy but pretty small so not a lot of room which leaves downstairs. Given it’s popularity, people are constantly coming in and out and talking loudly. Tables are close together so if people talking sit next to you, it can be distracting. Plus, you get the street/traffic noise. But. I blame myself for forgetting headphones! The service here is very friendly. A man came in grumbling something(assumed he was homeless) and I believe the owner gave him a few bags of chips. Aww… that was sweet. Another homeless guy came to the door begging, don’t really like that. They have coconut milk as an option for my latte(0.75 cents) which I like. They also have a big water dispenser with ice and lemon which I really appreciate. And they have gluten free goodies. I must say, sitting downstairs has made me hungray! Whatever they are cooking, it smells goood. But I have dinner plans already so perhaps I’ll try next time! Came to do some work and wifi can sometimes be slow. Grrr.

Walking down Pratt St, you can’t miss Peace & A Cup of Joe because of the bright and colorful paintings that adorn its walls. This is a great place to get your morning coffee/pastries, catch up with a friend over lunch or to study. Free(and fast) wifi is always a plus. If you go upstairs, they have a cozy little loft area with couches and tables that is great for conversation or cramming. Peace and A Cup of Joe also has good, inexpensive food, which is awesome especially if you’re a poor medical student like me. They have daily lunch specials and you also get a 10% discount if you’re a UMB student(or employee). And I think they do free refills if I remember correctly! I have not been for their happy hour yet, but they have daily happy hour every day from 3 to 8 pm with complementary beer and wine(and it’s also BYOB!). The employees are also always so friendly and enthusiastic! What a great place to start off your day with a smile on your face and a coffee in hand! :)

Love this place as much as I did the first time I stumbled upon it wandering around Baltimore. Now that I live here, I’m so excited to have it just around the corner from UMMC where I work. They make perfect chai lattes and the food is great and inexpensive. It definitely has a local coffee shop charm that you just can’t get at Starbucks! Keep it local!

Quaint, and cool place to spend a sunny lunch break. A chocolate chip cookie washed down with a mug of coffee, muffled urban sounds, passersby clip-clopping down the sidewalk, graduation gowns, business suits, hospital garb. Centuries old red brick buildings that whisper a story for those who will listen. A great spot to unplug, and relax. Where’s your peace? I just found mine.

Food and drink I ordered a cup of shrimp and corn chowder, and a dark roast coffee. The cup of soup was super tasty. It tasted like it was made recently, and not just from a powdered mix. The shrimp flavor was good; the corn imparted a good sweetness; and the liquid wasn’t too creamy or too heavy. The soup comes with a choice of saltine crackers or bread. I’m glad I chose the bread, because it was s slightly sweet poppy seed roll, and I love poppy seeds. My coffee was solid, though not earth-shattering. As a side note, it looked as though the portion sizes of other patrons’ did were quite generous/filling. Service and ambience I loved the ambience of this place. It has s fun, funky vibe without seeking like it’s trying too hard. The employees were also extremely friendly. ***I didn’t mean to imply that my cup of soup was too small! It was the perfect size, since I wanted a lighter lunch. I meant to convey that other customers who ordered bowls of soup, salads, nor sandwiches definitely got their money’s worth!***

Gem in the Ridgley’s Area I go here once a month or two to grab my breakfast fixings SURROUNDING: near UMB, right next to Ridgley’s area– where a lot of students live. I sometimes run into my professors or interviewees when I go SERVICE: friendly, free wi-fi, cozy, comfy couches(upstairs), need I say more? It’s cozy inside– some cool artwork on the wall parking– street parking, this place is more ideal for walkers/bikers FOOD: I always get breakfast sandwich and coffee– they are on point. It doesn’t blow you away, but will satisfy your craving. Plenty of egg on them, can even get actual cheddar on it, wish there was a little more sausage — but that’s how I feel about all breakfast sandwiches I don’t make. they even have cronut– haven’t had a chance to try, but the fact you dont have to go to ny for cronut makes this place exponentially better PRICE: They have a deal for breakfast sandwich+coffee ~8 BOTTOMLINE: cozy spot, perfect spot to grab breakfast(alone or with a friend), catchup with a friend. You could do work here too, but I think this place is best if you are looking for some peace to read a book. They sometimes have live bands perform– I haven’t had a chance to go to one yet, but would love to!
