I’d like to start out by saying i am a server in a baltimore restaurant and i HATE Unilocal and everything it stands for. However, i have never in my life been so irate at a chinese delivery or any restaurant for that matter in my life. It all started when i phoned in my order and the rude lady on the other end began to practically scream at me when i couldn’t understand her which i apologized for. I chalked it up to my own ignorance until my food showed up an hour later. I ordered a single order of sweet and sour chicken, rice, and an egg roll. The delivery man calls me to let me know he is out front… in his car! What kind of delivery doesnt come to your door? Then he tells me $ 34 which based on what i ordered i knew that couldnt be right. I was charged for FOUR orders of sweet and sour chicken. The delivery guy then called the rude lady back at the restaurant then handed the phone to me. She then told me i ordered the four orders and needed to pay. I was so angry i ended up handing the phone back to the man and telling him to just keep everything. He then began to knock on my door relentlessly until i paid for the order. I told him if he didnt go away i would call the cops. Talk about crazy. I wouldnt suggest this place to anyone!!!

There food tasted like I was eating baby grandmas an as far as service goes, I’ve gotten better service from a hooker in a dumpster

We ordered from Number 1 once, because we wanted to try a different place from our regular chinese food spot. It was a terrible mistake. The hot and sour soup had chunks of just animal fat, not meat or anything with it. I was physically ill after eating the meal. You can get a much better tasting, and higher quality meal from other chinese food delivery places nearby, at a comparable price. Bottom Line NEVER order from Number 1

This place is pretty decent for a Chinese Takeout Place, but then again I usually don’t go into a Chinese Takeout expecting good food, instead I expect them to be very affordable. This place is über-affordable. $ 6 can give you a good meal at this restaurant. I personally like their Singapore Noodles with Pork. I haven’t tried anything, but judging by the noodles, I wouldn’t mind ordering from this place again. They also have this Lunch Buffet for $ 5. That’s a deal!!!

Number 1 Chinese Sucks Second time to order from them. Both times they left something out of our order. First time did not bother to fight over missing egg rolls. Second time no way. Called to inquire about missing ribs. Person answering telephone all of a sudden did not speak English??? She understood English perfectly when I placed the order??? Had to ask to speak to some one else. After 3 phone calls and almost 1 hour the ribs turned up. Buy the way they sucked! They were so sweet they were inedible. Can we please get a good Chines Restaurant in the Canton area?

I had such high hopes for this place. Chinese Buffet within a mile of my house. All I can say is, can you really own a restaurant if you can’t cook!!! I mean really? I tried everything on the buffet and finished nothing. Enough said.

Not so secretly, I have a penchant for greasy Americanized Chinese food. Mu shi pork, sweet and sour whatever, kung pao chicken, shrimp lo mein, egg rolls, etc. I crave it sometimes. I mean I was touring China a while back experiencing gastronomic wonders left and right, but when in Shanghai, I tried to find a place that sold General Tso’s chicken. Crazy right? I found Number 1 Chinese menu in my mailbox the other day and I got giddy. I did what I normally do. Order way too much and hope I have the willpower to have leftovers. My order of steamed dumplings, spring rolls, moo shi pork, and triple delight came very promptly. The food was hot. And that is about the last compliment I can give. The dumplings has some faint gasoline-like flavor that I ended up burping up for much of the night. Lack of flavor and salt in fake Chinese food impossible? Nope, totally achieved by Number 1. I ended up on the couch staring at the full containers of food and thinking«wow that has never happened before.»
