Maish’s Auto Service

I’ve never bothered to write a Unilocal review before but I felt the need to today since the folks at Maish’s are absolutely amazing. Easy parking lot, pleasant (and air-​conditioned!) lobby area complete with two adorable chubby pugs behind the desk. They know a lot about Prius issues (not every repair shop does) and when they diagnosed mine with a failing hybrid battery they informed me that it was under warranty and coached me through dealing with the Toyota dealership to get it replaced for free. On top of it all, they waived the $ 88 diagnostic fee. Everyone was so helpful and nice that it actually brought a year to my eye on what was otherwise a terrible day. I will absolutely be back to have future service and repairs done here! Thanks guys!

Professional, fair, and good at what they do. Seemed to be honest but it probably helps if you seem like you know something about cars. Recommended

Like the dentist… I’m not a fan of having to visit a mechanic… but I will say that the folks here are courteous, straight forward, and fast.
Brought my car in on a Thursday to have it looked at for a few problems. I wasn’t expecting to get my car back within 24 hours but low and behold… I received a call telling me it was ready. Naturally skepticism sets in but after talking with Ray and feeling the change in the cars handling lets me know that they handled the problem the right way. Of the three problems addressed two where fixed, at BELOW QUOTE, and the 3^rd issue was trouble shot but they couldn’t diagnose so they didn’t attempt to fix it or charge me for it.
I will be back for return service… if necessary. Hopefully not bc automotive issues are pricey, but I know I was taken care of here. Thank you!

Yes, I begrudgingly must agree with the positive reviews. I hate spending money, especially on my car. I LOATHE large bills just to fix necessary maintenance things on my car. I am a pretty distrustful person, and I first came here – quite unwillingly – out of absolute necessity. (I think it was a rotor or something.) I recently HAD to come here again because the car was making extremely scary braking noises. I think it’s a total of 2 – 3 times I’ve come here ever.
The prices are fair. I hate to say this because I hate paying in the first place, but the other places I was quoted had considerably higher prices for the same job. I’m talking 1 – 2 hundred dollars higher.
I’m not looking for new friends. Staff is not overly friendly, but I’m just peachy with that.
Staff is pretty knowledgable about cars. I will never ever forget the place on Rt 40 that charged me $ 1000 for a fix I DIDN’T NEED according to the other THREE mechanics I went to. (FYI this is Pine Orchard Sunoco in Ellicott City, MD. I’m not too great at math, but if 3 mechanics say that it is a belt issue, and this idiot claims it’s a rack and pinion issue, I’d go with power of the majority… But I digress.)
Back to Maish’s. The bald guy is alright (the owner?). I generally don’t like people, but this guy seems decently honest.

Friendly staff & service and I think it was a reasonable price for my car. They also have two pugs in the lobby.

Fantastic place — the receptionist and auto mechanic are incredibly friendly and will take the time to explain to you the auto services you need and why. Also very reasonably priced.
I just moved to Baltimore so I’m really happy about finding this great mechanic near my place and will definitely do all my servicing here!

My car Lisa decided to die on me one morning and cause me a headache for the rest of the day. I see Maish’s on the way to work every morning, saw that they had relatively good reviews and decided to give them a try. I called and told them my battery was dead; they guy ordered a new one for me and said they’d be ready for me in 20 minutes. However, I couldn’t get away from work. So I wound up going the next morning at 8:00am. Thankfully, they still had the battery and they got it changed in time to send me on my way to work at 9:00am. They also told me I had a crappy tired (which I knew) and sold me a gently used replacement and got that on there fast. I love the location, the friendliness and flat honesty. I will definitely consider them in the future when I need service

These guys saved my life today, inspected my vehicle replaced my rear rotors and explained everything to me before and after the repair/​inspection. Yesterday I had gone to another place closer to my apartment that tried to shyster me out of $ 675 claiming that there were requirements my vehicle had to meet in order to pass inspections. Thanx to Maish’s I saved $ 400 they did the ONE repair required for me to pass. I would recommend Maish’s Auto to anyone looking for an honest accurate and friendly Auto service.

The receptionist is very friendly, and the techs did a speedy job of recharging my AC. The price was appropriate for the work done. I will be going back in the future.

My car was stuck up in Baltimore after a weekend. I had to drive down to DC from my hotel and when I stepped on the brake pedal… it went STRAIGHT to the floor. I got out of my car and looked to see brake fluid coming from my rear left wheel and knew I could not drive home on that. I got my car towed to this place not knowing anything about it or the quality of work. I checked to see it on GoogleMaps Street View and I was happy, looks clean, secure and when I talked to Shelly (sp) on Monday she really was a peach! She told me they are already looking at my car (it was 8:00am) and they will have a diagnostics in an hour… well one hour later she called me and told me the brake line had rusted and bursts. Well she told me the price to fix it and it was only $ 160! So cheap I really thought it was going to be worse.
Well 3 hours later she called me and said it was all done. Well I took the Amtrak train up there since I live in DC and by the time I got there just grabbed my keys and I was out the door. Awesome, Clean, Great Deal, Nice… Man I wish this place was near me!

Maish’s has become the default for all my automotive needs. They provide excellent customer service and timely repairs. When I had to get rotor work done on my Infiniti coupe, they were quick to locate the necessary parts and make the repairs within 24 hours. The invoices are always very detailed, and I never feel like I’m being overcharged — in fact, the price I’ve had to pay for repairs is often less than what they quote me.
