(3÷16÷2016) Yay! Still a fan of Liam’s for Irish food and drink and great live music on Tuesdays(Appalachian Old Time) and Wednesdays(Celtic/Irish Traditional Music), but don’t count on the new reservation system to mean squat. Was perplexed by the new availability of reservations via Unilocal SeatMe, so decided to give it a try. Had arrange for a group of coworkers and friends to meet up to listen to the Irish music jam session, reserved a table for 7:30 pm. A few of us got there a little early. I checked in with the bartender, just to say we’re here, we’re early and we have a reservation at 7:30 pm. She turned to the owner, who was drinking at the bar and said«do we have a reserved table at 7:30?» He said, «I don’t know, do we?» There was plenty of space at the time, he told us to sit where ever. We just hung at the bar and at a 2-top and 4-top clustered in a corner. It worked out just fine for a casual atmosphere. Let’s just say, if you’re going with a reservation, be prepared to be flexible in your expectations. BONUS: Tullamore Dew Irish whiskey tasting which happened to be that night, too, took the edge off right quick.

Fri eve Joe Squared was too crowded and had a 40 min wait so we decide to come here instead. I ended up liking this sooooo much better. The front was crowded but still had seats while the back was not but it did slowly fill up. Had a shepard’s pie and a guiness. OMG. so good but the pies itself are very small even though we had ordered the largest size. This is a great casual bar to chill and hang out with friends.

What a gem on North Avenue! I love their beer and cider options and the bartenders are always helpful and provide suggestions and recommendations. If you are looking for a place to hear Irish music and otherwise, I would suggest going there! Also if you are looking for a location for an informal meeting or happy hour this is a great location!!!

Better than expected. Plopped in the middle of Station North. Had lunch here. Some great local beers to come back and try. Great soup for lunch and shepherd pie./veggie style will come back

Darn it. We usually have a great time. This time, we got completely ignored at the bar. Female bartender that I have never seen before. Maybe she was new, I don’t know. But 15 minutes without getting our order taken and I was done. I bartended for years, and I am usually really patient, but this was ridiculous. It wasn’t that busy.

Liam Flynn’s has a classic Irish menu and a mostly Irish vibe, until you see the current well-intended but jarring and out-of-context art display on the west wall: a series of dozens of childlike portraits of victims of gun violence in Baltimore. A great exhibit, but odd to see in an Irish pub at lunch. The Cullen Skink was savory and substantial, and the Reuben well-balanced. I had Oliver’s Olé Merry Ale on draft which fit the meal and season well. One thing to know in order to avoid awkwardness with the bartender is there is no table service. You have to order at the bar. Once we understood that, all was peaceable. Prices pretty fair. And immediately adjacent to the anarchist Red Emma’s to appease your radical tendencies. Will definitely return to try more excellent Irish staples.

Great Irish bar. It’s dim, sometimes divey, but great. Don’t go looking for a bright club or bar — this isn’t it, and that’s the exact thing they are going for. They have a great selection of beers, a good cask selection, and some really good meat pies. I recommend the place heartily.

So much yes on this place. First, there was a real, live irishman behind the bar. That was awesome because he would occasionally say really Irish things like«grand» and«feckin.» Also, he was super nice and was willing to take the time to let you try new beers or even just shoot the shit. And the beers. My god, the beers. They have some really phenomenal beers but also Carlsberg(my fave danish beer) and 5 casks available. The food was excellent and well priced too. Very happy about that. Where can you go and get a nice plate of fresh veggies with homemade dill dip for $ 4? Probably couldn’t even do that at home. We also got the shepherd’s pie and were very happy with the smaller $ 6 offering they have. This would be my local if it were closer. Great place!

My boyfriend and I stopped in Liam Flynn’s on a Thursday around 5pm. The place wasn’t crowded at all(a few people at the bar and some people at tables). They have quite a few local beers on tap and, of course, the old Irish standbys. My boyfriend ordered their special sammy of the day, roast beef on sourdough with cheddar and horsey sauce– he loved it. I ordered the Reuben and although it wasn’t as good as the ones I get from Bolan’s,(my boyf moved out of HarCo and I miss Bolan’s on a weekly basis) it definitely didn’t disappoint. Corned beef was tender and there was a good balance of sauerkraut to sauce. The bartender seemed a lil standoffish at first but warmed up pretty quickly, she called me love– I love that. Seems like a really great local place where everyone knows each other– we’ll definitely be back!

Good food, good drinks, good music. This is such a fun place to grab a few drinks and dinner on a weeknight. We went on a Bluegrass night, and had a great time hanging out and eating some really awesome Irish grub. The music can get a bit loud, but it’s live music! There is not table service, but if you can’t handle getting out of your seat to go to the bar to order, you are not in the fun frame of mind this place deserves. I had a Belgian draft cider which I hadn’t had before, and it was fresh and crisp. As expected, my fiancé’s Guinness was poured perfectly. For dinner, I had bangers and mash with a deliciously savory sage sausage accompanied by creamy, gravy surrounded mashed potatoes. Yum. I can’t wait to go back for more Irish food, and I’ll try to go on a night when they have traditional Irish music!

Stumbled into Liam’s after Artscape with friends on friday night. At 11pm we had no problem getting a table. We sat down talked a bit and hung out for a while. I didn’t get to experience the food but I will go back again.

We came for the Gypsy Jazz and that was wonderful. Less fun was the food and a certain crowd member. A single bartender holds down a house of about 15 tables– two levels, no waiter, no bouncer. On North Avenue, Baltimore. We’d received a recommendation to try their pies and had also been recommended to check out the Gypsy Jazz night, so when our schedule cleared we headed over. The bartender did a good job of balancing everything, but we did order a veggie pot pie that turned out to be beef. Whoops. Some folks close to us had ordered the same and their order was similarly messed up. We sent them back and were promised a corrected order… The nice folks close to us had a salad that looked good and I ordered that to eat while I waited. It turned out to be kale, grapes, apple sticks with a sweet dressing. Personally I am not a fan of sweet dressings so although the individual ingredients looked and tasted fresh, it was not my thing. Bartender was kind enough to gather it up, don’t know if we got charged for it or not. As I nibbled at my salad I noticed a chalkboard at the front of the room(actually it was blocking our view of the music) and the chalkboard had what looked like a nice dinner special, chicken, and other specials that were not on the plastic foldout the bartender gave us. Huh, who knew? Oh well. So the veggie pot pie came(long after my partner had finished his corned beef) and it was good til I found like a paper label in with the sauce. Whoops. That’s when I stopped eating it. So then me n the hub are grooving along with the jazz and finishing our drinks and a person who said he lives across the street started talking to us, and leaning on our table, and characterizing us in certain ways that made it clear it was just time to leave. So we did. Couldn’t get out of there fast enough. Understaffed.

Liam Flynn’s is an authentic Irish pub in a cute area. Pubs that claim to be Irish are very hit or miss. Plastering a few shamrocks on the wall and hanging an Irish flag doesn’t make it authentic. This place is. You order the food at the bar like in actual pubs in Ireland & England. The food was also homey & good. My husband & I tried several different apps & sides. We had the scotch eggs(chorizo), salmon/Brie pockets, kale & salmon chips, mashed potatoes(with gravy!) & cranberry sauce. Yummmm. I was sad they were out of stuffing but the mashed potatoes(with gravy!) made up for it. They also have several local beers. I will def return here.

Long story short, if you like good whiskey, scotch, casks of beer, and just a good assortment of food(the sage Scottish egg is my favorite). Then come to Liams. My review would be more in depth but I’ve been drinking a few Balvenies now. NOWSTOPREADINGANDGOTO LiAM’S

Aha emm, underwhelming. I grew up on British breakfast type food, so having recently had Scottish egg when i went to TX, i wanted some. In come Liam Flynn which was a place i wanted to try already. We walk in and there is a sign, see bartender to be seated. No problem. We sit down and notice that, service would have to be proactive since no one was going to come to us. My party and i quickly jot down what we wanted and went to the bartender. No Chardonay. ok, settled for some other wine, margarita on the rocks with salt(bartender said she can mix the margarita, but no salt). No self respecting bar should be taking seriously if you cant get that right. It gets better the Margarita was those sugary nasty mixes… sent it back. Wine was not cool, fridge broken. ok Items ordered no Caprese salad or whatever you call it for one of the members for the party. I ordered the baked beans and bread – beans was decent. sausage roll-poor, scotish egg-ok not great, a friend had the cornish hen(its smoked)-in fairness she didnt read the menu well, didnt like it. Someone ordered the reuben-passable, and the vegetarian pot pie-i guess ok. I thought i could go back memory lane, but instead an unmemorable lane. Next.

I think Liam’s became a lot more relevant when Baltimore’s finest bartender Jina joined the team. She is usually there on Sunday’s but subs in during the week periodically. A true gem! Go hang out with her. One change that I loooooooove is that they serve food now! Healthy food at that! Try the cheese and apple panini with a kale salad. Yummo! For a while, Liam’s didn’t have any food, but they did provide a book of menus for restaurants in the area. I could go on and on about why you should go, but why should I… just go yourself. They are open on Sunday’s despite what Unilocal had posted for hours annnnnnnd they have sports and movies playing alllll day. So stop in and enjoy!

6÷22÷14 SOOOOOO North Ave has some little gems that I wouldn’t have ever come to because it is North Ave and for those that have lived in Baltimore know it has a bad reputation. This place is located near the bridge area that’s near the I-83 ramp. This are is getting a face lift and redevelopment. We were able to find parking right in front of the location as it was Sunday. So we didn’t have to worry about the meter. When you go in it is clearing out because people were watching the USA vs Portugal. So we came just time to hang out with our favorite bartender Jina! SHEISAWESOME! I was told they never use to have a food menu and now they do. The menu is very health conscious and so good! I got the portabella panini and kale salad with raspberry vinaigrette! SOGOOD! Now since this is a pub let me tell you that the drinks are awesome. The weird part is that I really never have anything but a Gina which is Jina’s specialty drink! I have no clue what is in this thing but it only takes one of two to get you where you want to! It is a tricky drink! It taste so good like it is soda and then the next thing you know it sneaks up on you and you are like HEEEEYYYYY!!! I love it and slept so well that night!

First things first, it’s NOT closed on Sundays I was there last Sunday jammin’ jammin’ jammin’ on the one. Pretty cool bar located off of North Ave. I always pass it, always notice the green signage but have never been in. Glad I did. Pretty nifty space. Small bar, and seating area. Has a large TV, lots of games(think Dominoes) and a jukebox. On this date there was a celebration for the end of the Fringe Festival and I got to listen to a cool band(New Retro check them out btw). Don’t believe they serve food, but I hear you can order from neighboring restaurants and they’ll deliver. The bartender, Jina was amazing, she was the only person there and she was handling things like a champ. Her drinks were great, and she came up great new concoctions… He he he he. Good times. I’ll be back.
