La Contessa

Oh man oh man, where to start?!
La Contessa by Mary DeMarco is handmade jewelry, tableware and home goods. Her studio boutique is located in Baltimore, right next to Woodberry Kitchen which is an up and coming green community that has taken over the old foundry in Clipper Mill.
I recently found La Contessa at the Sugarloaf Crafts Festival at the fairgrounds in MD. I was just walking on by when a pink shiny pendant in the shape of a MERMAID caught my eye. I immediately grabbed my Mother and ran over to Mary’s little pop-​up shop. Her designs remind me over my favorite books and movies – anything and everything fairy, elvish, secret garden, mystical and naturalistic.
I recently went to her Black Friday sale and received 50% off everything. I left spending $ 260.00 and all of her mermaid jewelry (sorry fellow mermaid lovers).

Very well made and colorful jewelry; unusual. Once you have
seen the stock it doesn’t seem to vary much after 2 – 3 years. The owner is wonderful and very engaging and kind. She stands by her quality work and is open to criticism. This is a very good jewller.
