aaaaaaaanyway. my number one complaint about this place is that my friend and i tried for about 3 weeks to order from here, all at different days and times, and were met 90% of the time with the answer «the indian chef is not here today.» i even tried to get the indian chef’s schedule, to no avail. the other 10% of the time no one picked up. pretty lame showing for a delivery place.
finally after craving indian for SO long, we hit on that magical moment when the indian chef was in. even though it annoys me that, as a rule, indian dishes tend to get on the expensive side when you want more than one thing, i said to myself, «self, f it. f’ing go for it.» (i actually said «f,» not the full word for which «f» stands, in case you were wondering). we got aloo paneer, lamb vindaloo, samosas, garlic naan, and upgraded from regular to vegetable biryani rice.
in a nutshell, everything was disappointing. i have had all of these dishes countless times all over the world (yes, in asia too) and i have never had them taste like this. the vindaloo was so sweet it was almost sugary, and wasn’t spicy at all; the samosas were full of mush; the paneer was more like creamed spinach. waste of money, waste of time.
delivery service was fine; more or less on time (although it was a late tuesday afternoon so they couldn’t have been busy), sufficiently polite driver. i just don’t understand how a place that advertises indian food can a) hardly ever actually have it, and b) suck so much at making it.
