I LOVE their food. The stewed chicken, plantain, rice, and mixed veggies are SO good. They have a great variety available on their menu(as well as Caribbean style sodas). The food is cooked fresh, so it make take a minute to get your order even if you call in advance(they don’t put it together until you arrive), but it’s worth the wait. There’s plenty of island music and Caribbean décor to keep you occupied. It’s a carry out spot, so the only seating available is for waiting.

The Buss up shut is nothing to right home about(never been moist. always dry). As side orders the bodi is ok, but they usually don’t have pumpkin and the masala mango has been sour to me thrice!!! Trinidad Gourmet on 31st has more variety sometimes and way early and later hours. The food is better but not the«Brooklyn — New York” quality or St. James quality i’m use to…

We’ve had Isl Im 2 more times. The fish is consistently good. Sometimes the spices are overwhelming though. The last time, the cabbage was a little too raw, which is too bad b/c it was so perfectly cooked the first time I had it. The plaintains were mushy last time but really good the first time. I always love the rice and peas. So, I don’t know if you’re going to get them on or not but I still think it’s worth it.
