In a city that generally lacks quality Chinese food to begin with, Golden Wok is everything you want from a greasy run-down carry out. Located on one of Fells Point’s shadier corners it’s a great place to acquire late night drunken munchies(and even later night diarrhea). While I really don’t recommend the eat-in option at this place the portions and quality are far better then that of the Ding Ho down the street + you are sure to meet at least 1 – 2 interesting Baltimore ‘characters’ while you wait. *Remember when in doubt avoid eye-contact while talking to yourself.

FOOD: Typical take out Chinese. There is nothing special at all. The portion was a lot smaller than the typical take out menu for the price. AMBIENCE: Do not eat here, just order from this place and deliver. It is gross inside and the area would not be safe after dark. SERVICE: I just ordered to go. The food was made quickly and in front of me, so that reassured me somewhat regarding the health standard. I live close. I will order from here if I am hankering for Chinese desperately… and I mean super desperately.

My boy wanted some Lake Trout and chicken wings, so I brought him here. While GW doesn’t serve«Lake Trout», the fried fish platter is bar none the best value I’ve found in the city proper. The fish filets are huge and battered in a crumbly breading that is very crispy and crunchy. However, everything else we ordered was so greasy that it really detracted from the dining experience. Therefore, I’m downgrading my initial 3-star equating to a baseline average experience to a «Just order the fried fish platter» recommendation.
