These are artisans of the first order. I’m in DC — I sent them an idea for two steel gates for street-​facing doors, to match the stair railings on a historic house in Georgetown. Krug sent a sketch and worked with me to ensure the design functioned well and passed muster with the Old Georgetown Board. While the stair railings were wrought-​iron, the locking steel gates with brass finials and brass screening on the back look as though they came with the house.

This is the best place in Baltimore to get custom ironwork: fences, gates, railings, hardware, ALMOST ANYTHING YOU WANT MADE OF STEEL. Excellent sales and service; top quality custom made products; good turn around time. The shop has it’s own charm to it worth appreciating (the building is well over 100 years old — historic)!! G Krug and Son has been in continuous operation for over 200 years and is the 3rd oldest family owned business in Baltimore and probably the oldest blacksmith shop in North America! G Krug is also the expert on restorations of ironwork in addition to creating new pieces.
