Good sandwiches– I wasn’t blown away by what I ate, but it was decent. The café is nice with art, sculpture, and a small community library. Server was friendly and service was fast enough– I had the veggie sandwich which was a good healthy option after lots of hiking.

This is the kind of place that becomes your go-to coffee shop. The owners are very friendly, and the ambiance is very cozy with couches, booths, and tables. There is a very wide selection of food items to choose from, ranging from breakfast pastries to salads to sandwiches, among other things. They make huge muffins and cookies, both of which are really tasty(the blueberry muffin and the double chocolate chip cookie are my favorites.) The coffee is very good as well, the chai tea lattes are a super good deal, Evergreen serves ‘em big, really flavorful, and fairly inexpensive to boot. In general, excellent spot, highly recommend for anyone looking to casually enjoy a coffee and get work done or hang out with friends.

This place is a great spot to hang out and grab a bite to eat if your doing laundry next door. Nothing super special, but certainly not bad.

Wish they had almond milk for lattes! Soy milk is not healthy & I wish they had that as a milk alternative for a coffee shop. But the place is cute & has some nice, inexpensive lunch options.

My wife and I have spent so many hours studying, lounging, talking, laughing, and generally having a good time here. All the coffee drinks are great, the food is good, the service is quick & polite, the prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere is relaxing. It’s our spot in Baltimore.

This café is perfect for studying. Lots of plugs, wifi, not too crowded or loud. It definitely gives off that family owned vibe. I love how they carry Zeke’s coffee as well. I usually get the bottomless cup and can get refills all day. Their bagel sandwiches are very decently priced and yummy! I’m excited to try their other foods as well. Their Morning Glory muffin was healthy(as healthy as muffins get, anyway) and they have other healthy options on their menu. Free parking is available down some side streets.

Had the caprese panini and it was really good and for a decent price. Definitely a good place to come and get work done. Will definitely be back.

I was excited to go here today and try a new place, it looked so cute from the outside. When I went inside the cashier was rude to me and hard to understand. Also, I ordered a bacon, egg and cheese on an everything bagel, and they just gave me microwaved egg and then the bacon was all very undercooked and fatty. I ended up taking off all the bacon and not even eating half of the bagel. Overall, it was a disappointing experience and I won’t be returning.

The food was not good, salad was bland and the bacon was barely cooked. The staff was rude and acted as if taking my order was an inconvenience for them. The only good thing was the coffee, that tasted great.

They microwave milk for drinks. This place was awesome years ago, now it seems to have fallen into disrepair.

This is your fun stereotypical Coffee house perfectly adapted for its surroundings in historic ellicott city. The staff was quick and professional. Its an open place that isn’t too well lit to feel like you’re in a coffee joint — but also not too dark, so it keeps a certain feeling of energy that I really liked. People seemed really talkative and happy as they came in. I sat for a while with my girlfriend and my lap top — going over notes from our apartment hunt trying to make a decision. I credit The Evergreen Café for taking the edge off of a tough decision. While sitting there, we got Chai Lattes(quite good) and a cream cheese bagle(good — but not memorable). I will have to come back and try the assortment of drinks they have. Its a fun place!

Came for a book club meeting last night(rainy Tuesday) and the food was great. I got the chicken curry sandwich and the cashier asked if I wanted my bread toasted(always! Yesssss! Love toasted bread) and if I wanted everything on the sandwich. I said«just leave off tomato» and it came with a variety of great things on it: carrots, radishes, onion strips, I don’t even know what else, but it was great. Husband got the caprese sandwich, which I thought he had ruined by putting chicken on it, but they know how to do chicken on sandwiches: medium-thick strips that are easy to bite into and it paired excellently with the mozarella(meltier than normal caprese), tomato, and pesto. His had great foccacia bread, too, which I usually find to be meh! He had his sandwich toasted as well. Who wouldn’t?! I kept taking bites of mine and then his, which is the way I like to spend my dinners. Our whole meal was $ 18ish which is great. Sandwiches came with chips. We both ate all our food and was happy. Cute vibe of the place; 7 of us sat in the front window with the couch. Another reader had a salad with strawberries and balsalmic vinegar dressing; it too looked awesome. I could have eaten a million things. And all the gelato looked great! I didn’t have a coffee because I had just drank one at 3pm. I will definitely be back. Good size space for a coffee shop«plus» restaurant. Closes at 8pm. We were there for about an hour and had a very good time.

The main attraction about this café is the welcoming space and the study-friendly atmosphere with some background conversation & music. I’ve been here a few times and will go back again. The first time, the coffee was really very good; the second time, it was normal. We’ve just ordered cheaper food options — bagels, small pasta salad — because the food pricing is just OK if not a little high. There are wide tables, high tables, booths, a couch or two, and a bookshelf of books you can take from and contribute to. The lighting is nice and bright. They really need to get rid of those dusty fake plants in the storefront window, and I wish they’d play less top-40 music since that makes it difficult to study sometimes. Good overall though!

Yesterday I had a much needed day out of the house at the Evergreen. Sometimes I just feel much more productive around a bunch of other people who are reading, working, etc. It was pretty busy yesterday, lots of teachers and people who had the day off for Veteran’s Day spent the morning with newspapers, laptops and coffee. It was the perfect environment for me to camp out. The big variety of seating was great, though, I had to snag one of the last high tops that was near an outlet. Even though other, more prime seating cleared up within an hour or two, I didn’t want to move my things. I’ve had tasty menu items at the Evergreen before like their wraps and coffees which are great. Yesterday though, I wasn’t very pleased. I started with a chai tea latte and a chocolate chip muffin. The chai was sickly sweet and barely warm, the muffin was dry and stale. I then had a chicken Caesar salad for lunch which was fine. So it seems like the food is hit or miss and that I’ll stick to the coffee. Also, I’ve never seen the cashiers smile. They don’t ask how my day was, they just stare at me until I decide what I’d like. Then they mumble if I’d like anything else before taking my payment. I’ve never been to such a beloved neighborhood spot that lasted with such mediocre service. I’ll probably still go back just because the location is so convenient and it’s a great place to do some work but I would enjoy it much more if the staff maybe pretended they wanted to be there.

Definitely a fan of this place. Will be back. The environment wasn’t too loud(though i’m sure it picks up during peak food hours). Areas with high chairs, tables, booths, mostly all within outlet distance to plug your laptop into. Hard workers behind the counter, friendly. Good café menu style options from breakfast sandwiches and wraps(all day) to reuben sandwiches to gelato, frozen yogurt, pastries, and coffee(local Zekes!!) Prices are fairly standard, and from the looks of other people’s food, portions were respectable! I got a chance to try the hummus platter. Decent value for the price, though not mind blowing, it did the job. Love the # of pita breads they gave. Too many places skimp out on that! Haven’t found a nice place to work like this in the area. Most places are either too small to work, too focused on the food/coffee. This finds the nice medium of having decent food, being spacious enough to grab lunch, chill with friends, or study and work for hours, with a fairly neutral noise level for a café. It is fairly«college-y» but doesn’t really detract.

Had to get out of my apartment to get some work done. Perfect place to do work or meet with a group over coffee. Being a college student I feel like I fit right in! I got a mocha. ehh not the best I’ve ever had didn’t have as much chocolaty goodness I wanted, but then again maybe that’s a good thing. Ordered a white Reuben and it came on white bread when I ordered rye and they were kinda slow. Wish it was closer to my apartment but this might be my new study/work spot.

How late am I? I meant to review this place ages ago. Other than the man currently sitting next to me, chewing a like a cow with this mouth open, my experience here has been quite good. Of course, I tried not to put it past him sense the food is pretty solid — at least when it comes to breakfast which is when I always come. I usually opt for a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on 12-grain bread. Sure, I could make it at home, but aren’t sandwiches so much beter when someone else makes it for you? Exactly. Plus, I have to say that the bacon is pretty good — a little thicker than most places serve and gentled enveloped in fluffy egg. There’s only grape jelly here, so if you like a little jam on your breakfast sandwich like I do, know that going in. I am a strawberry or raspberry girl myself. Although all the teas are bagged, there is quite a healthy, robust selection. The black pomegranate blend if my favorite… always hit the spot. They also have a large selection of other black teas, white tea, and green tea. For tea-lovers like me, you really can’t ask for a lot more, especially since they aren’t a loose-leaf laden type of spot. Parking can be tricky depending on when you visit, but I have always had luck. Plus, the parking is mad cheap(just $ 0.50), so that is helpful. I enjoy meeting here for meetings or just getting some work down on my laptop. There’s free wi-fi and plenty of outlets. All in all, a great café to work.

This place used to be an eclectic coffee shop with outstanding food, coffee, and atmosphere. It is still an acceptable place to eat and do work, it has lost a lot of its charm. The chairs are in great disrepair and many of the seats are now folding chairs. The Evergreen has added items to its menu, but still has not redone its menu board. Menu items are listed haphazardly on the large chalk board, on a freestanding white board, and in the windows of the display cases. The portions seem to be smaller and the quality of food not as good despite higher prices. The Evergreen no longer features everything cookies, either. Free wi-fi seems to be the only redeeming factor to what was once the best coffee shop in the area.

This place has become my home away from home lately, as my lack of internet at home hits the one-month mark(yes, I am slowly but surely going insane). The Evergreen has been a staple in Roland Park/Cold Spring Lane businesses for years– but after spending the last few weeks here, I’ve found that it’s the free WiFi that’s keeping this place afloat. Maybe I’ve been choosing the wrong things to eat, but the food has been less than impressive. I was excited to try the buffalo chicken wrap – among other items– and was pretty disappointed. That being said, the coffee and teas are fantastic and since no one’s asking me to leave while I soak up their World Wide Web for hours on end, I really can’t complain too much about the food. The atmosphere here is great, I’m sad I never found a place like this while I was in college– Loyola students really have a great place right near their campus! The music is kept low enough that it won’t bother you while you’re working, but still is a nice background that a local library can’t offer. The furniture is worn and homey, making you feel like you’re in your living room at home rather than a pretentious coffeehouse. As fellow Unilocalers have said, the best part is that the staff doesn’t stare me down for taking up space and using their free WiFi. Nothing’s worse than trying to get work done with an angry barista sending you death stares from across the room(aka Starbucks). I wouldn’t recommend coming here for the food, but if you’re seeking a nice place to get some work done, this is a great option.
