This place use be awesome, 10 years ago you had to wait an hour or more to get a table and the food was amazing. My latest order on the other hand was quite literally a reflection of the past, and not in the good sense. The other night I called in 2 pizzas for take away. They said it was going to be 30 mins until ready. As soon as hanging up, my partner and I came to the immediate conclusion it was a little early for dinner and quickly called back to reschedule(quite literally under a minute, thinking since a pizza only takes 10 – 15 mins to prepare, they must have told us 30 because they were so busy). I asked the guy if they could postpone on the pizzas until we called back later that evening. According to him they already started working on the pizzas and that would be difficult. Ok… fair enough, despite being felt strong armed slightly, I understand the costs of operating a small business, still the whole 30 mins thing was fishy, but ok, benefit of the doubt, no worries… moving on. The pizzas smelled good, however after biting into them they were quite literally some of the worst textured, flavourless pizzas either of us have had in a long time. After a few bites we both looked at one another, tried a slice of the other’s pizza, and then came to the same conclusion… from which we proceeded to debated for a good two-three minutes if it’d actually be worth driving the pizzas back and asking for our money back. Considering our earlier conversation on the phone, we decided it was probably not worth burning the gas and best to just boycott this place unless they make an effort to resolve this matter online. Based on the recent chain of chronologically poor reviews, something tells me that probably won’t happen. Nevertheless, I have high-hopes for this place, hopefully the owner of this establishment monitors these reviews and takes them to light. I would consider updating this review should whomever handles their customer relations reach out.

We were at Belvedere and nothing was singing to us. We love everything there, but maybe something a little different was called for. I was poking around the menus for the plethora of food establishments there and I saw shawarma and was sold. I’ve had some outstanding shawarma downtown and my tongue said«yes please!» I was really disappointed, to be honest. It tasted like there was a spice mix that they kept in a shaker and seasoned the meat as it cooked, and being lamb, overcooked quickly. Everyone in our party took a few bites of their food to be polite and then took the rest home. I have no idea what happened to their leftovers. Prime time lunch time, even if it was a Wednesday, and there was next to no one there(keep in mind Belvedere is packed all the time). I honestly wouldn’t go back, but I’m glad to have checked out one place in that area that I hadn’t before.

I’ve been here several times. I could give this place two or three stars because their service and food can be wonderful or it can be very bad. I’ve never had a problem with the wait staff, but the owner, yeack! He can be an absolute jerk. I love their jerk chicken pizza and once went on a week long spree where I ordered it everyday for five days. Yeah, it was that good. Fast forward a few months, came in for same pizza and it was poorly prepared. The outer areas were warm but the center seemed cool and the cheese hadn’t quite melted. I told the waitstaff. I think they tried to cook the pizza a bit more, but then it comes back black and burnt around the edges. I request another pizza, then the owner comes back with the pizza and then points to the pizza and says that nothing is wrong. I told him to try the pizza, it was cold in the center and now has been burned around the edges. He says no and refuses to refund the money or give me another pizza! I said no problem. I told him to cancel the order for the second jerk pizza that I’d ordered and to give me the check for the one that was cold in the center. I left that pizza there with him and have no plans to go back. It’s too bad because, for the most part, I really liked the place when the meals were cooked well. The problem is that the food is just so mostly miss(not hits) now, and the owner has anger issues, that I just stay away. There are too many options(in the redone Belvedere Square) now in that area for this guy to act like this. What’s worse is that I KNOW that guy has seen me in the restaurant more than a few times eating his food. I think he should have given me the benefit of the doubt and treated me better as an ongoing and proven customer.

Dirty, dirty, dirty… sucks. Just got out and making sure to warn anybody who is thinking about it. This place and food has nothing to do with Egyptian food. take it from an Egyptian.

The food was good but was a little disappointed by the friendliness of the owner. The manager/owner was sitting a few feet from us watching television and never once said hello or asked us how our meal was. Our waiter was great, but I would have expected at least a check-in from the manager since he was sitting 1 booth over and not doing anything — just to see if we were pleased with our service. The restaurant only had 2 other patrons and he never spoke to them either. Running a restaurant is part food but also part customer service!

Jerk Alert! Had an awful experience here. I bought two pizzas using Groupon for carry out. I called ahead of time but pizza were not ready when I got there 30 minutes later so had to wait another 20 minutes. Pizza finally came and I paid for them plus gave 20% tip even though I did not get table service. What can I say, I am generally a generous person. As I was about to walk out of the place, the ignorant owner ran after me yelling with an incomprehensible accent. He blocked the door and insisted that I ate the pizza inside his establishment because according to him the Groupon fine print specified eating in(it did not, I read the fine print). Besides, does it really matter? I could choose to eat the food I paid and tipped for anywhere I like. Don’t people box their food at restaurants and take home with them? Anyway, unable to walk past him, I sat at the nearby table and ate a slice to satisfy this control freak’s idiotic rule. Then he let me go but only after asking the waitress to charge me another 20% gratuity fee. The waitress and other guests were so embarrassed and uncomfortable! The waitress kept apologizing profusely! I assured her it wasn’t her fault that her boss was a piece of work. The over-priced pizza wasn’t worth the cost either. Never Again!!!

Ordered chicken kabob, the meat was not marinated, fatty and tough, hard to cut even with a knife, worst kabob ever tasted, nothing Egyptian about the food or service.

I heard about this place a few months ago, and I have been a regular ever since. I love the lamb schawarma pita sandwich they make! The chefs are excellent cooks and the service is always on point. I usually order their fresh homemade mango juice or some«Karkadeh»(hibiscus flower juice) to go along with my meal. It is probably one of the healthiest places to eat some pizza at, considering the fact that they offer Gluten Free, and whole wheat crust pizzas(and all other dairy type foods).

The Food here was delish. We got carryout after the Unilocal CMYE. My husband loved his pizza… and mine. I had the veggie and he had the chicken. I also tried an appetizer, which was the beef pie. They were flavorful. The restaurant wasn’t full of people there were about 5 or 6 patrons dining in. When we came in we were immediately greeted. Our order was taken when we were ready and it was out in about 10 minutes. Service was quick and outside of the person that took our order we didn’t have any other interaction with the staff. So, in a nutshell hubby and I will be going back again. He was excited and said it taste better than Pizza Hut. I’m not sure about that, but the styles of the pizza are different and the ingredients maybe just a little fresher and the dough is less fatening, but I love Pizza Hut too. LOL

Ordered a pizza for carryout here a few days ago and the pizza crust/bread was completely flavorless. The rest of the pizza was fine, tasted pretty fresh actually, but if I wanted to eat my pizza off of cardboard I would have gone to Domino’s. I also waited in the entryway for about 5 minutes before someone came over and helped me — they weren’t busy, the restaurant was practically empty. Probably wouldn’t recommend this place to friends.

This is the second time we’ve been here. My son really wanted to go and his meal was great, he got penne with creamy cheese sauce and chicken. I ordered a Mediterranean sampler platter and it was good although it wouldn’t have killed them to add some garlic. I ordered Koromania which was good too but like the sampler it too needed more garlic. Skip ordered chicken schwarma and it was really soupy, not at all what he expected. The service was very slow to start, we waited a long time to have someone take our drink order and didn’t want to let him get away so we ordered right then. Dinner was ok to good — I’m sure they’ve watered down the flavors to appeal to a more North American palette. The atmosphere was good because it was quiet enough that we could carry on a conversation without shouting at each other. We’d probably go again.

My sister has celiac’s disease and they assured us multiple times that her meal was GLUTENFREE. 60 minutes later, we’re in the EMERGENCYROOM and she’s extremely sick. Beware anyone with allergies or a gluten-intolerance! They do not cater to people with dietary needs and are obviously not very knowledgable about them.

The worst pizza I have had in a long time. Just a yucky cheesy mess. Two stars only because the baba ganoush was ok, but I don’t think it was fresh.

I know, I know, Baltimore(and America in general) is overrun by pizza joints and there must be incredible pressure to make yourself stand out, but I’m gonna need these guys to resist the urge to reinvent this wheel, or do a much better job of it. We tried the Jamaican pizza about two weeks ago, mostly as a close-your-eyes-and-point-who-cares-it’s-pizza decision. What we received was pretty much lousy BBQ flavored chicken chunks with tomato slices and a pesto sort of sauce. It wasn’t terrible, but I fail to see the connection to Jamaica. The crust was fine and the topping/cheese/sauce/crust proportions were good. Price was a bit high for a cramped, strip mall pizza joint with no liquor license(and middling pizza at best.) Even with a ½ price groupon, a pizza and two drinks ended up costing damn near $ 20. Might have liked to try some of their Middle Eastern foods — perhaps the quality is better. Wouldn’t necessarily AVOID, but won’t be back purely on the strength of the pizza — there’ll have to be some other sort of draw.

We went here with friends on a Friday night to use a coupon. The place is BYOB, but we had no alcohol — too pregnant for that. No reservation needed for 7:30 seating for 4. Started with marinated potatoes ordered by our companions — they were a bit like homefries, not too special. Special salad was a cucumber salad with lettuce, olives, marinated pineapples, pineapple vinaigrette — it was good portion and tasty, but not remarkeable. For dinner we ordered the«Nouba» which a barbecue chicken pizza and«Di funghi» pizza which had mushrooms, mozzarella and tomatoes. Both were fresh from the oven, crust was doughy, like 2 boots, and the taste was also comparable. We’ll give this lower rating than 2 boots because the menu wasn’t as interesting and the value was the same. Crust was doughier than Bagby’s which we also like better. The menu was vast so this is a good place if not everyone is interested in getting pizza(especially since there wasn’t anything really Egyptian about the pizza as far as we could tell. All in all it was tasty and reasonably priced, with good service, where almost anyone can find something that they’d like to eat, but certainly doesn’t stand out for its pizza or among other Baltimore restaurants.

Food ordered was the Old Bay creamy sauce pasta and the Sauteed chicken and shrimp pita. Both delicious. Pita was extra spicy but, that’s how I like my food. The shrimp used in both entrees were a nice side. I will see you soon Egyptian Pizza and your staff truly courteous

We’ve been here two times before. It’s hit or miss with the dishes. However, I will not be bringing them my business again. We used a Groupon and the total was less than $ 10. The waitress came back saying that they can’t accept credit cards for less than $ 10. Alright… you’d expect that of a small shop that doesn’t get much business, but a restaurant with enough patrons to cover the minimal fee of the one-in-a-blue-moon-under-$ 10 credit card charge? Come on. I am carrying just enough cash on me to cover the actual cost of the meal and no more for tip. It’s rare that we don’t have cash on us, but that’s just what happened. We asked the waitress once again to talk to the owner to see if he’d be willing to take the card if the tip ran it over $ 10. We weren’t going to pay a $ 3 fee at the ATM next door for the tip. That was already half of what she was going to get. The waitress tries to talk to the owner for at least 5 – 8 minutes, but he absolutely refused to accept our card without an additional charge to us for the small fee he’d have to pay to run it. He was basically having a hissy fit and not giving in. All in all, the owner was an absolute dick about it. We ended up paying with my cash and leaving, driving to our bank’s ATM a ways away, going to a gas station to buy gum so we could get change and then driving back to give the waitress her tip before the damn place closed. I will not be so rudely inconvenienced again for a $ 1 credit card charge. You have got to be kidding me with that BS. I rarely am this heated about a place, but when you’re treated like shit, you want everyone to know to steer clear. Do NOT bring your business there. Don’t support a-holes.

Had the Dahb pizza — Italian tomatoes and mozzarella cheese, marinated grilled eggplant, roasted red peppers, hot peppers, fresh garlic and sun-dried tomatoe. Very good but I think the pizzas are a little high priced for what you get. The crust was soft and very flavorful but the toppings were chunked really too big and were not evenly spread out so it was almost impossible to get all of the flavors in one normal sized bite. But we were also seated right away and had plenty of space with our tot. And again, the $ 3 per person cork fee is ridiculous– It’s bad enough that as a couple we pay $ 6 for our bottle(which honestly is probably only a $ 10 bottle anyway!!) it should be per table or per bottle. Think about it — a table of 4 would have to pay $ 12 to open their bottle wine– that’s crazy.

Cozy restaurant located in the«great 4 dates» Belvedere Square(that is my coined term, steal it & I sue). Seating is a little closed in, especially if you’re seated on the side wall where square tables are placed a few feet from each other. So if you have a badonkadonk, opt for a larger table in the middle of the room or one off to the other side in order to avoid putting your fatty in someone’s falafel as you slide into your seat. You can get a deal to dine at Egyptian Pizza and since the food isn’t too pricey, you can make out with like 2 meals a piece(which means a banging lunch at work the next day-*pow*). The pitas are pretty good. I enjoyed the chicken and shrimp pita because it had quite a spicy kick to it. I wasn’t too keen on the fries they had with it but it went ok with the pita. The chicken kabob dish was an honorable mention as well. I fell in love with how delicate the rice was and the seasoning on the chicken was just right although the dish didn’t taste as good microwaved the next day, so be sure to finish it up in one sitting if you can. I took home the shrimp pizza with crabmeat sauce and it survived the next day microwave test. The dough was thin and crisp and the seafood was fresh and tasty, a great combo! Lighting is really dim but it sets the mood. As I said, seating is tight so If you’re trying to have an extremely intimate conversation, save it for the walk to the car but if you are trying to get to know someone a bit better while enjoying good food and a slightly intimate atmosphere, give this place a try. Also since this small spot is far from a family spot, I think they should include some alcoholic beverages to enjoy. At least some fine wines or something, sheesh!
