I judge my coffee shops on food, coffee, and ambiance and on all three dovecote did not disappoint. I went in with a group of hAngry ladies so we ordered literally one of everything that they had. Its all made fresh in-​house by one of the lovely co-​owners’ mom and you can taste mama’s quality cookin. We each had our favorites but tied for first for me were the peach upside down cake and the potato and turkey bacon frittata, Lick your fingers, clean your plate, wish I lived in Baltimore kinda good! We also happened to be there when they were hosting an Artists Shouldnt Starve event so we got to meet one of the brilliant local artists they were featuring on their walls this month.
If you’re lucky enough to live close by, make this your local.

Fresh, warm, and original. That’s how I describe the welcome, visuals, and vibe at Dovecote. And the peach upsidedown cake was homey delicious. I feel the community-​support there. Make the effort to visit this special place.

This is the first venture of its kind in Reservoir Hill in many years, and it feels like we were just waiting Aisha, Cole, Gilda, Butch and the rest of the wonderful Dovecote staff to show up and work their magic. The owners are kind, professional and community-​minded. The atmosphere is hip and inviting. The baked goods are excellent and the coffee no-​frills but solid. I find myself eagerly anticipating each visit to Dovecote Café with its Cheers-​like vibe where «everybody knows your name.» This is a classy neighborhood joint where locals come together to schmooze and visitors find themselves wishing they were local.

I don’t even drink coffee but I just read about this café from my boy, Maurice T. Braxton ‘s posting and had to stop thru to check & support a new (to me anyway) local business. ‘Nicole’, thanks for making my maiden voyage so pleasurable & walking me thru the options as well as making an excellent iced coffee!!! I’ll definitely be back to try one of the quiches /​desserts in the future (so good, they were already sold out! LOVE IT!!!) #SupportLocal #ResHill
