2.5 stars for me. Bought a Groupon for here and decided to use it on an unbelievably cold day in February. When you come in, you order your food at the counter, take a number and then seat yourself at a table(sort of like the Corner Bakery). I ordered the tenderjacks & waffles, the crab mac & chz, & a glass of wine. I originally ordered a mimosa, but was informed that the champagne delivery had not yet gotten to the restaurant. However, I later went to the counter to ask for a glass for water about 20 mins later and overheard another customer ordering the mimosa, which only carried a $ 4 price tag as opposed to the $ 8 I was charged for the moscato. I would have liked to been given the courtesy of only paying $ 4 since it was the restaurant’s fault that I couldn’t get what I originally asked for.(strike 1). The chicken tenderjacks weren’t fried as crunchy as I’d like & the seasoning on the chicken was pretty bland.(strike 2) The mac and chz was better. I ate that whole dish at the restaurant and took most of the chix & waffles home. The service was alright. Another issue was heating in the place. To be fair, it was an insanely cold day, but I was freezing sitting underneath the window(those were the only tables unoccupied) and that sort of ruined the experience for me. I don’t think I’d go back.

Food is really not that good. I had it delivered, so I can’t comment on the location or the customer service.

Soul Food establishments are lacking in the Baltimore area — however, Del MarVa’s really has a way of charming your britches off ya! Not only do they serve up a delicious brunch but they also serve great soul food/bbq dinner entrees. I enjoyed a nice BBQ platter, that had great flavor and packed just the right punch. I’ve also really enjoyed the breakfast pizza and the chicken and waffles.

This was our first time there so we were confused when we arrived. Didn’t know that we were to seat ourselves after ordering at the counter. I think it could be helpful to have a sign in the front with the instructions. So the food was slightly less than average. We went for Sunday brunch but I was in the mood for breakfasty food so I ordered buffalo wings. My husband ordered chicken and waffles. The buffalo wings could have been cooked more. The flavor was ok. The best part of my meal was the blue cheese dip which was very tasty. My husbands waffles were ok. Just regular. The chicken strips could have been seasoned more. And the side of potatoes seemed like hash browns which were frozen. Nothing added to make them tasty. The service was not so great. The server took quite a bit of time to bring us ketchup so we got our own. I won’t come back.

So I have a love-hate relationship with DelMarVa. I live very close to it so it’s nice to walk there and grab some coffee and a quick bite sometimes. The food is alright, prices are slightly excessive honestly… But I was ok with that because it’s a nice building and it’s generally not super busy like Panera. With that said, they are getting 2 stars from me because they lack in customer service. I don’t get it, the manager is actually awesome and approachable; everyone else is rude and cannot bothered. They also pulled this stunt where they randomly closed for like 2 months. You would think they would have gone out of business or something, but in reality they didn’t. They had«restructuring» or some BS going on. You would think they would communicate to their customers that they are indeed still in business and maybe post a reopening date or keep everyone in the loop via a social network or something(there were a lot of unanswered Facebook comments about that subject)… Pretty sad and pathetic!

I have a love-hate relationship with DelMarVa. But I’m still salty about DelMarVa. I love their strong coffee. I love their breakfast(other than their biscuits and gravy). I love their chicken and waffles. I don’t like that they closed for two months without any explanation on their door, website, Facebook page, or voicemail. Some of the rude employees I actually like… One in particular. She’s so rude that I am actually entertained by her cannot-be-bothered sassiness. In fact, I think she’s my favorite part of the restaurant(other than the chicken and waffles). She gets me. How dare I take up her time by asking her what her favorite thing on the menu is? She’s awesome. Sometimes I eat there just because I want to receive an epic stink-eye in exchange for requesting her suggestion on which of the beautiful pastries to try. I love DelMarVa… Why do they hate me?

Came with a living social deal for $ 30. I ordered a veggie omelet with zucchini, spinach, onion and peppers accompanied with a side of potatoes and toast. Although my omelet was not on the menu, they were happy to offer me a «build your own» option. SWEEETTTT!!! My mate and I also split an order of french toast and she had the breakfast burrito which was mediocre. Didn’t expect the french toast portion size to be so large. They were good, slightly sweet with a delicate egg flavor. Everything was good to me. The rustic — urban feel of the restaurant and the good service made my experience great. It wasn’t over crowded which was also nice. Not too far from me so I’m sure I will return.

This was the second time my boyfriend and I visited DelMarVa’s. We had a good experience the first time so wanted to return. On our second visit we waited in line for 15 minutes with only three people in front of us. Then, once we got to the register, we both noticed that the kitchen staff all had gloves on EXCEPT the person that was plating all of the food. He touched every single piece of food that went onto plates with his bare hands while also using a dish rag to wipe the counter in front of him in between plating. I asked the cashier if there was a reason that he did not wear gloves and asked her to please mentioned it to a member of management. Her response was, «He is the general manager.» It’s good to know that the general manager of the establishment cares about sanitary conditions and the staff disregard a concern brought to them by a customer. After that we waited for our food order for 25 minutes and when it arrived all the items were lukewarm at best. The last thing that sealed the decision to not return was that there was no soap in the bathroom. No soap in the restroom and the general manager of the establishment touching every piece of food with his bare hands.

I ordered the shrimp and crab baked mac & cheese and peach smoothie. Underwhelmed with both. Mac & cheese was flavorless, shrimp was the size of crawfish and the crab meat was far and few between. I’m sure I counted no more than 3 pieces of crab in my dish. I wanted a strawberry smoothie but they said they ran out of strawberries, bananas and any other flavor on the menu but they could whip up a peach smoothie. Bleh. I’m just happy I only paid $ 9(Living Social — $ 10 for $ 20 deal, got ten percent off the $ 10) for such a mediocre dining experience. Oh, get some friendlier staff by the way. Won’t be returning.

I don’t know how this place has 4 stars. There was definitely nothing ‘delmarva’ about it. Ore Ida frozen potatoes and pillsbury biscuits. Smuckers are THEIRVIRGINIAPRESERVES. Coffee is terrible. Pls just go to sip and bite or thb.

My girlfriend and I were extremely impressed by the«new» DelMarVa’s.(I believe they reopened about a few months ago under new ownership. We visited on Jan 4, 2015.) The entire staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. The price points are appropriate for the area. The portions are just right for the price points. The quality(and flavor) of the food is fantastic. Preparation times are adequate. The customer coffee station is a plus. The menu options are diverse(with plenty of vegetarian options). The ambiance/décor is just right for their«southern café» style. The location is extremely convenient in Canton/Brewers Hill and only a minute or two off 95⁄895(just north of the tunnels). PLUS, they serve breakfast ALLDAY! That is a huge plus! We will definitely go back and highly recommend the new DelMarVa’s Southern Café!

After receiving a Living Social voucher from a friend my husband I checked out this little gem on a Saturday afternoon. From the moment we walked in I loved the décor, the exposed brick and wood floors are a great fit with the Canton neighborhood. It’s located in a small strip mall/business center and there’s plenty of parking. On our first visit hubby ordered the crabcake sandwich and I ordered the Tenderjacks and waffles and we got an order of fried pickles to start. I went to the restroom to wash my hands and when I came back my husband was just kind of laughing under his breath and shaking his head, he simply could not get over how many fried pickles came in the appetizer, we go out quite a bit and we often order them but have never received a portion this large, or at such a great price. They’re served with a delicious ranch dressing but I also got a cup of the honey mustard because I prefer a sweeter sauce, both were delicious and the pickles were cooked perfectly, crispy on the outside while remaining plump and juicy under the cornbread crust. I absolutely love chicken and waffles and am always on the hunt for the very best so it was a no brainer that I ordered the Tenderjacks and waffles. Now I don’t know what seasonings they use in the batter but the tenderjacks were phenomenal, definitely not your run of the mill chicken tender by any means and the waffles were cooked perfectly, delicately crisp on the outside, tender and fluffy on the inside and the tartness of the cranberry peach marmalade perfectly complimented both the tenderjacks as well as the waffles I drizzled in syrup, the red pepper garnish completed the dish. I couldn’t get over the giant lumps of crabmeat in my husband’s crabcake sandwich, also perfectly cooked, served with a tasty Chesapeake Aioli and accompanied by hand cut fries, the only disappointment was that hubby didn’t share very well. The staff is extremely friendly and work well with one another, in fact, they have better timing then most upscale restaurants we’ve gone to, perfectly spacing the delivery of the appetizers and main course, giving us more than enough time to savor our pickles. We actually enjoyed our entire experience so much that as soon as I got home I purchased a Living Social deal for us and one for our daughter and, less than a week later, were back with our daughter and her girlfriend, this time for dinner. We ordered the sample platter this time as an appetizer and were even more floored when it arrived, overflowing with fried pickles, chips and onion straws, definitely an incredible deal at $ 6.99, so much food even the four of us barely made a dent. I really had the best of intentions in trying something new off the menu but I enjoyed the Tenderjacks and waffles so much the last time I just had to order them again but hubby switched it up to the Salsa burger which he loved, although he was kind enough to give me a bite this time and I thought it was incredible. My daughter’s pulled pork sandwich had a perfectly smoky, bbq taste and the baked beans were exactly the way we like them, with just touch of jalapeño and her Bacon-Tomato-Avocado Mac and cheese was orgasmic and I love how it was served in a small cast iron skillet. My future daughter in law ordered the buffalo chicken wrap and loved it so much she unwrapped the half she had intended on saving for the next day’s lunch and finished it in minutes. I’d also like to mention how obliging management and staff are. My husband had noticed a Chicken Chesapeake Sandwich on an older menu but noticed it was no longer listed when we got the restaurant. We asked about it and the manager immediately offered have it made for him although they no longer had the ciabatta that it was originially served on. Although hubby decided to go with his second choice, the salsa burger which turned out to be a grand slam, we definitely appreciated the gesture. We will most definitely be eating here on a regular basis. Phenomenal food, large portions, friendly staff, great prices and welcoming décor. Next time we’re coming in for brunch.

I go to DelMarVa if I have a large group. Because of its convenient location and parking, I have tried this restaurant a few times now. Their food selection is decent and the restaurant is very cute. My biggest issue is slow service and frequent miscommunications between servers. Last weekend, I waited about 20 minutes to get food for a group of 6. When my «portobello mushroom and walnut» salad finally came out, it had neither mushroom nor walnut. I asked my server and she brought out a plate of mushroom but informed me they are out of walnuts. Not the worst place and I would really like to support a local business but Delmarva would be my last choice for breakfast/lunch in Canton area.

Had a great breakfast, the food was amazing. I ordered the DelMarVa Breakfast which is eggs, choice of meat, hashbrowns, and a biscuit. I also added a slice of French toast for an extra couple of bucks. The French toast was amazing! So is the hash, it’s a mix of seasoned regular and sweet potatoes with red onions. My husband had the Big Burrito and the name held true! It was huge and he loved it! His sister had the shrimp and grits and the shrimp were a surprisingly nice size. The sauce was delicious with a light kick, and it had andouille sausage in it! Absolutely yummy! The service was friendly and they offer bottomless mimosas for like $ 12 although I believe only on Sundays for brunch. I can’t beat that, good food, good service, and bottomless mimosas(don’t worry non alcoholic drinks have free refills) All of the little extras do add up, so order wisely. But I will be returning.

While Baltimore may not be considered the south, it is certainly further south than where I grew up. There are more than just a handful of restaurants in Baltimore that specialize in ‘Southern Cuisine’ and one of them in Canton is Del Marva’s Café. When it comes to southern cuisine, many people only think of chicken and waffles or grits, when in fact southern cooking is so much more. I’ve now driven past Del Marva’s Café more than just a handful of times and I’ve been wanting to check out what they have to offer. I made a plan with some friends to head over to Canton and check out all the Southern cooking that Del Marva’s Café has to offer. When you enter Del Marva’s Café, the menu is on the wall and you order from a counter. We each ordered and sat at a table waiting for our food to come. One of my friends ordered the Chicken Tenders, she said that these were the most moist chicken tenders she has ever had. These chicken tenders were awesome and I would probably order them when I go back. The chicken tenders came with a side of French Fries. These fries were seasoned perfectly and packed with so much flavor. Another friend ordered the Grilled Cheese. This grilled cheese was packed with cheese but nothing particularly special. One of my friends was really craving something that reminded her of the south and decided to order the Southern Fried Chicken Sandwich. This sandwich was a buttermilk biscuit with chicken tenders, bacon, cheddar cheese, fried pickles and country gravy. My friend absolutely loved this sandwich she said all the elements combined perfectly to create something packed with flavors. I was in the mood for something a little more basic and ordered a Bacon Egg and Cheese on a Biscuit. Personally I thought the bacon could have been cooked a little more and the biscuit was very dry, but I would go back toDel Marva’s Café to try something else on their expansive menu. When you’re craving some southern dishes, I’d suggest heading over to Canton to see what Del Marva’s Café has to offer.

I found out about this restaurant on Living Social-purchased it & let it expire before I could truly benefit from the deal. Duh! I decided it would be a great casual place to enjoy a meal, as part of our Anniversary weekend(lol). Anyway, I really loved this spot. The atmosphere was mellow and the décor is very open and inviting. However, the best part is definitely the food! I ordered the Chicken & Waffles and was thrilled by the deliciously thick & seasoned chicken tenders w/4 fluffy waffle triangles. Thinking of it makes me want to pick up an order to go! My husband assumed he wouldn’t have enough to eat with the Shrimp & Grits, but was surprised by what he received and the numerous shrimp in his meal. He loved it and I’ve been looking for a place that makes it(it’s one of his fav meals). Let’s just say there was little conversation, as he exclaimed how good the food was. I neglected to try it, so that will be on my list for another time. He left with the Southern Chicken sandwich w/hand cut fries. I’m not the chicken & gravy type, but it looked yum. I did steal a few fries and I liked them too. This will be one of my «go to» locations –especially when family & friends are in town. Even though this delicious meal was our first meal there, it won’t be our last. I’m passing the word on to all my friends.

Pleasantly surprised about DelMarVa’s Southern Café! I walked in with my boyfriend, and we both stood there for a second because we thought it was a full service restaurant and waited for a hostess. After a few seconds I saw the long hallway with menus on the wall and realized it is order at a counter style and you get a number(like Noodles & Co. style) and they bring your food to you. I was completely thrown off by this, but was actually rather excited that it is a little more casual but it did not lack in the menu selections as it took FOREVER to decide what to get because everything sounded so amazing! We settled on the breakfast burrito with bacon(it had sweet potato hash browns inside which really was the best part about it and I don’t even like sweet potatoes that much) and it had a delicious dollup of guacamole on top(in which I asked for more of because it was so good!). It came with a sad little fruit salad, but the burrito was filling enough that I didn’t need anything else. We also got the avocado and chicken sandwich that came with the most delicious fries! Not a lot of avocado on it, but in general it was tasty. I am very excited this casual yet gourmet place has opened up in the neighborhood, I cannot wait to go there again and try more of their food!

When you need a good, solid, southern style meal… DelMarVa’s is the place to go! DelMarVa’s is located in a small strip mall across for the new Canton Crossing(great plaza). When you enter you are smacked in the face by a giant DelMarVa peninsula map… not only do you get good food but you can learn at the same time! Side note: the map is actually pretty neat and there is a breakdown of the differant areas, informative to say the least. Ok back on track… DelMarVa’s is a you order first and then they bring your food to your table type of place. So the first time you go, you stare open mouthed at the menu! Their menu is pretty extensive, breakfast, lunch, supper and everything in between, they offer. I have been here 3 – 4 times and so far I have ordered their Chicken and Waffles and their turkey burger. Once you have made a decision you walk up to the counter and order… so far everyone has been friendly and courteous when I ask my 1000 questions. Once ordered, the epic waiting game begins(Not because it takes them a long time, but after looking at the menu you are either second guessing yourself or you want to order EVERYTHING!) But sit tight young grasshopper your food will be out shortly. They do a good job of bring the food out nice and fast, so the waiting game is nothing but an internal struggle. Once you get your food, you dive in head first! First the Chicken and Waffles(C&W), the waffles were great, crispy outside fluffy inside, which paired nicely with the chicken. The syrup and the butter also added to the overall great taste and texture. Second, the Turkey burger. It was good, very moist, flavorful and the bread was toasted perfectly. This is a def. winner in my book. The fries that come with the burger were ok, slightly soggy, but they had a nice taste to them. not sure what batter they use, but keep using it! The portions were decent sized, nothing to huge, but large enough were you felt you got your moneys worth. So overall DelMarVa’s was a hit and I will def be back… heck I already have! So enjoy the southern hospitality and Ya’ll come back now ya hear! Note: I have not been to DelMarVa’s for dinner or drinks… so I can not speak to those, I can only speak to the lunch menu and expereince.

I had high hopes for this place, being a fan of down home country cooking. The staff was nice and efficient, and the décor nice enough if a bit generic, but other than that mediocrity reigned supreme. First of all I was disappointed that the chicken and waffles wasn’t on the breakfast menu, which led me to select something else from their relatively limited menu. Asked about the biscuits and gravy, but they use sawmill gravy(the plain Jane queen of blandness in the gravy world, in my opinion), so that was not an option for me. I ended up getting a bacon, egg and cheese biscuit, and a pecan pastry. The latter was decent enough, more so since I took them up on their offer to warm it up. Still, nothing more than your average Panera. The biscuit sandwich was a bitter disappointment, however. VERY dry, boring, sorta roll-like and largish biscuit, with two measly half-slices of mediocre bacon. Frankly, McDonald’s biscuits are better… really. Wifey wanted to get the oatmeal with fruit, but they didn’t have any! She switched to a «country muffin with fruit.» On the plus side the muffin itself was good, as was the fruit that accompanies it(blueberries, strawberries, and some banana). Unfortunately the vanilla pudding like substance that covered it was too sweet and dominated, and virtually impossible to scrape off effectively. Coffee was alright, as was wifey’s fresh squeezed OJ. Total bill came to about $ 20, and when I weigh the cost versus quality, I can’t give this place more than 2 stars(and if you’ll not from my reviews, one and two star ratings are a rarity for me). Disappointing!
