I’ve tried Dangerously Delicious in DC, so of course I had to get a Baltimore Bomb in Baltimore. We went on MLK Day, hoping to see Hampden. Sadly, most of the shops were closed and it was FREEZING cold. While this made me sad, Dangerously Delicious pulled through. Not only was the pie hot, the cappuccino perfect, but the seating area was cozy and our server(who was VERY busy and could have easily been harried or stressed) was just the sweetest. Her attitude was contageous and all the patrons made the best of the limited seating space(no one was keen to sit outside for some reason) and chatted easily at tables and with one another. The perfect anecdote to cold – inside and out!

My review is based on the berry crumble pie that I bought to go. Long story short — I was very disappointed by the pie. The slice though generous was not delicious per se. It was ordinary and were it not for the vanilla ice cream I had on the side this pie would have been hard to swallow. It was dry and some of the berries were ‘grainy.’ The texture wasnt great and the overall flavor was just ok. Certainly not dangerously delicious. I love pies — sweet or savory, and would give this place another shot but I wouldn’t go out of my way, especially with the prices going up $ 2 per slice in the 2016.

I stopped into this Dangerously Delicious for the first time. I had only been to the one in Canton once and remembered it being OK. I figured why not pop in on my walk back to the car and grab some pie to go… THEGOOD. –good hours of operation –Baltimore Bomb pie was really good. I’d recommend that one! –had a pretty good variety of pies available(both sweet and savory) –salted caramel pie was okay, crust was the best part –service was very quick –sit down area if you want to dine-in –THEBAD… –very, very pricey for small piece of pie… $ 6 –parking can be a pain depending on time/day Overall, I do like the pie, but it is expensive. I don’t know if it is worth $ 6 a slice. Paper Moon Diner has some pretty good pie too for around the same price, but the slices are bigger. I’d return to get the Baltimore Bomb and perhaps try a savory pie. Not a spot I’d frequent though unless the portion size was larger or the price came down.

Dear Dangerously Delicious, How are your pies so damn perfect? Just worked my way through a cherry pie and already planning my next endeavor. With great admiration and satiety, — M

(9÷24÷2015) Rodney Henry is quite a Baltimore celebrity, you can catch him occasionally on the Food Network. I’ve never really been a big fan of their sweet pies. The crust is rather pasty, tough and thick, but definitely holds up well to whatever kind of filling. Got a Baltimore Bomb for a Berger fanatic and they loved it. It’s a chess pie filling with chopped Berger’s on top. Relatively speaking, not too sweet for what it is. I do enjoy their savory pies, especially the Steak and Mushroom. Here, the sturdy crust does it’s job to hold in juices and back up the meat. Def great to patronize a local business. Prices pretty pricey.

We just finished eating lunch at The Food Market downtown and decided we wanted some dessert. Thankfully we walked decided to stroll down the street before going to our car. It took us a while to decide which pie we were going to try– there were so many tempting flavors. The usual pecan, Pumpkin, berry pies, but also pumpkin crème, Baltimore Bomb, Peanut Butter crème, Blueberry Pancake etc. They also had savory pies, like pulled pork, steak onion mushroom potato, crab etc. Ultimately we decided on the cookies and cream pie which was phenomenal. My only critique was that the crust wasn’t mind blowing but the pie filling definitely made up for it. Would definitely go back. Also, in response to another review, there were labels on the pies and a list of the available pies on the wall when we visited.

I noticed Dangerously Delicious Pies as I was walking down the Avenue, and decided to pop in to see what it was all about. Sweet or savory, they’ve got pies. But dangerously delicious? More like dangerously disappointing and dangerously expensive. They didn’t have a take-away paper menu, so I had to come back later when I had more time to ask questions about the pies, since there were no descriptions anywhere.(Pretty annoying, hopefully they’ll take care of this soon.) I ended up taking home two slices of quiche(cowgirl and cowboy), and a half pie of «white trash», their custard pie. I’m not a fan of using genderized names for food(cowboy had bacon, cowgirl was veggie only), but the quiche were both ok(but definitely better with bacon). The white trash pie(aptly named) was a traditional custard pie, nothing special. I wouldn’t say these pies are dangerously delicious, but they’re ok. I might go back to try a fruit or chocolate pie and see if those live up to the name, but with the high price, probably not anytime soon. Thirty dollars for a pie is quite excessive.

ok… Here it is from the pie lovers… just… ok. We love pie! love pie! love pie! love pie! But we are sad today. So let me get my review on: Savory… I tried the chicken Pot Pie and the Spicy Chicken… They were actually very tasty and delicious, except the chef needs to use more salt along the way when cooking. Since I can’t add salt inside the pie, I had to salt the top and it just wasn’t right. So, I guess you could say that while they were good, they were a little more bland than they should have been. The flaky crust was very tasty! Sweet… ok folks. Sorry to do this, but I found them to be ok and actually a little underwhelming! The Baltimore Bomb — one thing about the real Berger cookies is there ability to hit you with that sweet fudgy chocolate flavor, but this pie does not have that effect. Just didn’t do it for us. It was a mild tasting pie, with a pudding like taste with some chocolate bits. Just didn’t take it to the next level. Was expecting more of the Berger cookie hit… just expecting so much more. Pecan — Was ok. it was basically a thin layer of pecans on top of the thick filler. The thick filler did not have a deep flavor(usually the dark syrup and molasses flavor from brown sugar). Again, a mild version of a southern Pecan pie. Nothing to write home about… especially if you come from the South. Chocolate Chip Pancake — What? where? Was this supposed to taste like pancake batter? Sadly… it did not. Again, basically was a very mild egg custard flavor, with limited chocolate chip flavor… hardly any chocolate chips in fact. Not sure about you, but when I make chocolate chip pancakes at home, it is both chocolaty and pancakey… but, not this! Toffee — I am such a fan of toffee… well not here. It had a very very thin layer of toffee that quickly got lost in the mildly flavored but thick layer of filler. Looked like toffee, just didn’t really taste like it. As far as the ambiance… love the location and love the look of this place. Great style, comfy environment. Nicely designed!

The Baltimore Bomb Pie is a symbol of all that is wonderful in the city of Baltimore. As a transplant here, it was one of my very first tastes of Baltimorean cuisine. And it was love at first taste. After becoming a creature of habit and eating only the BBP variety for a whole year, I was persuaded to branch out and try a new variety while at this Hampden location. The Almond Joy pie. And oh was it joyous! DD offers many vegan pie options, which I think is nice, and lots of choices of cream and fruit pie varieties. Even savory pies. There’s truly something for everyone here! The staff are friendly. And the price for a generous slice is incredibly fair. Oh, and they’re open late on weekends so I can shamelessly stuff my piehole after Netflixing all night. No shame here.

Love this new location. Lauren and Lyndon are so sweet and helped me pick out the perfect pies to impress some folks I was visiting. Definitely worth the trip!
