You can tell when an employee really enjoys working at a business or when they just act that way because management told them to «act happy». The staff at Amuse are some of the most excited staff I’ve ever seen at a game shop. They walk that fine line between helpful, yet giving you enough space so not to feel pressured.
We weren’t sure exactly what I wanted, so I asked one of the staff members who gave me a great list of recommendations. I ended up going with Forbidden Island as per his recommendation. It’s a great game and I’m happy he told me about it.
It is a bit on the pricey side and i didn’t appreciate being pressured to sign up for the email list. But other than those nitpicks I will be returning for the next game.

Great place to go for GREAT toys. They are very helpful in selecting age and interest appropriate gifts. Since their toys are pretty unique and available in a wide price range, you can be pretty sure that the kiddo you’re shopping for won’t get duplicates whatever your budget. If you go with kids, there are tons of toys that are okay for them to play with while you shop. It’s a very welcoming and fun shopping experience.

My experience at Amuss Toys was absolutely wonderful. The worker, I can’t recall his name, went above and beyond with customer service. He happily and thoroughly made recommendations for age-​appropriate toys. There was a nice selection of toys and other neat gadgets to choose.

Amuse went above and beyond to make my nephews stay at the hospital a bit more enjoyable. Thank you for accommodating my request — it meant so much to me! Really appreciated.

This is by far my favorite boutique toy store. Claudia, the owner, is wonderful and is often there in the store. She will help you find that ‘just right’ toy. Recently she had Tim the silhouette artist at both locations and he is great (check the event schedule).
The toys are well made, unique, and educational. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because sometimes I think the prices are a bit too high– even when taking into consideration quality and uniqueness (and this is not for all of their items, just some)

Holy Rainbow Loom, Batman! this place is nirvana. The owners take pride in insuring they know vendors and what goes into the products; Claudia was literally an encyclopedia of knowledge — you can feel good for shopping local, they get exclusive rainbow loom products with colors and trinkets I haven’t seen anywhere else; I really really liked it!

Really fun store. Owner was very knowledgable and helpful. Also, I really liked that they have a bit of everything.

We love this store! We are not local. Came here 11 years ago. Returned today. Still great!

aMuse Toys is an adorable little shop with plenty of games, knick-​knacks, and toys. And for anyone who has a charm bracelet, you MUST check out all the incredibly cute charms sold here! While aMuse does sell a lot of baby/​toddler toys, there are also fun gifts for older kids.

Absolutely adorable toy store. There were so many things I wanted to buy the baby, but they were a little pricey. Not that they shouldn’t have been, everything in there is very unique. What a great place to buya gift!

Amuse toys offers fantastic educational toys, many of which you could not find in your average toy store. I have purchased multiple toys for children of friends and they have been well received and loved.
This is a great local business that tries its best to please the customer and offer unique and educational gifts for loved ones. I have only had have good service and interactions with the staff.
Definitely check it out! There are locations both in Fells Point and in the Quarry shopping center off of Greenspring Ave

The aMuse family is incredible. *Really* warm people who actually care about picking quality toys for shoppers. I’ve purchased loads of gifts from here and all were raved about, especially the Magna Tiles, Stomp Rocket, Spot It and Kathe Kruse dolls!

aMuse Toys is about as good as it gets for unique, educational, natural and well made toys/​products. It’s also wonderful that they support local vendors.
I have been purchasing gifts from them since my niece was born 5yrs ago. Baby Showers, Birthdays, Christmas, Graduations, Special Occasions… I can always count on the staff to help me choose an appropriate gift… And offer FREE gift wrapping. Every gift has gotten raves from both adults and children.
i always support independently owned businesses and this is one of the best.

I am so sad to be writing this review. This past Christmas I’d made the decision to purchase all of my gifts from stores instead of going online. And I made an extra special effort to support local businesses. My boyfriend and I had gone in one day and he was obsessed over this Carrera Evolution race car track thingy. And no, I’m not dating a 12 year old. :) Anyways while my Barbie playing days are over I realize guys are a lil different, so I went back and purchased it for him. A whopping $ 275. Christmas day the bf was excited beyond words over his new gift. That is until he noticed how big it was. Unfortunately it was too big to fit in the apt. So we took it back to exchange it for a smaller one, which they offered. «YAY!» What they DON’T offer however is a refund. Complete opposite of YAY! Instead of refunding the difference they could only offer me store credit. Which would be great if I was 13 and not 31. While the store seems great I just don’t have a need for $ 150 of store credit.
Baltimore’s best toy store? Unfortunately not. And I am shocked that a business would have this kind of antiquated return policy in the age of competitive online shopping and its truly unfortunate that aMuse Toys chooses to run their business this way.

i spent a ton of money here buying ‘sophisticated’ toys for my nephew and niece at xmas. they spent 2 minutes playing with them and that’s it. $ 75 gone.
seriously ppl, if you want to stimulate your children then read them a book, expensive toys are for adults (iphones, etc.)!

This store is fantastic. I love the selection of educational and natural toys that they sell here. The lady that was working there at the time of my visit was very helpful helping me pick out a perfect toy for my baby boy. Since my baby boy likes to put things into his mouth, it was great to find a lot of toys that were water paint based and food dye paint based. I ended up buying a magnet toy for babies that was made from Switzerland. It was pretty pricey for 19 piece of plastic magnetic toys but the son loved pulling and putting the magnets together. I guess you have to pay top dollars for toys that are not mass produced. It’s different and unique so I don’t mind paying for things that are educational and developmentally appropriate for my child and it’s a big added bonus that this store doesn’t carry much toys that make noises! I should send everyone I know here so that my child does not collect all those annoying noise making toys that he keeps receiving!

Quaint little shop if you’re the «right» customer. The ONLY reason I made a purchase there, is that I promised my 6 year old he could have something from «the toy store”-halfway through the very packed Fell’s Point Fest. NEVER again. I’d prefer they just post a sign «Whites Only», that way we would’ve known to stay out. The clerk completely ignored me while going out of her way to greet customers entering. My son was on his best behavior… There was no reason for the way she acted. She told me «you don’t need a bag». True enough-​we had one item… but I never asked for a bag-​Her whole demeanor just sucked. I know it isn’t a Baltimore thing or a Fell’s Point thing… Just post the sign already.

OMG! My girl and I were driving to DC for a baby shower. Halfway there we were like… Shazaam…we forgot the gifts! I quickly pulled out my iPhone and went to my favorite new app Unilocal!
This place is great. Service was exceptional. Store was a bit messy but kids were to blame and restocking so I didn’t mind. They even wrapped gifts… FREE! Store is a bit pricey but worth it. Love this place!

Selection was top notch, anything and everything educationally sound, interactive, imaginative, down to handmade dress up costumes. How else are you going to amuse a 6 year old boy on a business trip when you are looking at a 12 hour ride home? I’ll tell you, Pappo soldiers, a squishy fluid filled brain, and more. This place is absolutely packed to the ceiling, and I am not exaggerating. One of two kids friendly oriented stores on the block, the other is more clothing and infant geared.
